New At Sephora Haul, First Impressions and Swatches ~ Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter, Sephora Collection Color Shifter Eyeshadow Palette, and Sephora Pout Perfect Lip Set

Trying something a little different here - I don't often do a full haul with my initial swatches and thoughts, but I picked up a few little new sets and items from Sephora that I can't do full posts on each item, so thought I'd share my thoughts here and show you what I picked up!

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

There have been a few things that have caught my eye lately - specifically the Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter and the Sephora Collection Color Shifter Eye Shadow Palette!

I'm still planning to stick to my beauty and books budget of $200 per month, so I'm making sure my purchases are thoughtful and hopefully I'm enjoying everything I'm picking up!

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter in Mesmerize ~ $33.00 CAN. An innovative powder highlighter that gives skin an instant glass-like sheen for an easy, natural-looking glow that lasts.

This has got to be one of the most viral products right now - this highlighter is everyone. I'm not going to lie, if we are going back to super glowy highlighters, I'm in to it! Love a shimmery glassy glow!

This is a super, light weight formula that goes on really smoothly and shimmery (but not sparkly) - I love the glass description, because it's got a beautiful sheen on it! I love the shade Mesmerize and I can see why this product has gone so viral - it's beautiful!

Sephora Collection Color Shifter Mini Eyeshadow Palette in Bronze Vision ~ $14.00 CAN. A collection of highly pigmented mini eyeshadow palettes that offer up endless combinations of layered looks.

Before I get in to the shadows, I love that this is an all cardboard packaging, no magnets, just a removable band for really easy recycling (also, they even made the mirror removable for when you are done with the packaging). These caught my eye because of the textured shifting topper shader in each of the palettes!

This is a pretty bronze toned palette - it comes with 3 matte shades, one shimmer and then one light-reflecting glitter topper. This topper shade is meant to go over any of the shades and transform them in a flash.

Here's a look at the swatches of the shadows - I've used this a couple of times now and I'm quite impressed. Honestly, I've used Sephora Collection before and thought the shadows were a little on the less pigmented side. This swatches leave a little bit to the imagination; but, using this I've found the shadows really pigmented and they apply nicely. Personally, the glitter topped wasn't as pigmented as I thought, but it is still a pretty shadow!

Sephora Favorites Perfect Pout Lip Set ~ $36.00 CAN. A curated collection of a lip liner, lip balms, and lipsticks, including full sizes of the Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss Lipstick Balm and Rare Beauty Kind Words Lip Liner in Fun.

It's been a while since I've bought a favourites set; but, the Charlotte Tilbury is full size and worth $40 on it's own - there is a few formulas in here that I had been interested in trying and this is a great way to try them out! (Also, I never mind sample size lippies because I have so many!)

Here's a look at the swatches of the products included (from top to bottom):

Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss Lipstick Balm in Pillowtalkiconic nudey-pink (This one is full sized - I love a tinted balm type product so I'm excited for this!)

Nars Afterglow Lip Balm in Lagunashimmering bronze with gold shimmer (This is a deluxe size sample - Laguna is the iconic shade and this is a nice light tint).

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Kind Words Lip Liner in Fun ~ neutral mauve (This is a pretty raved product - I haven't tried it yet, but have enjoyed everything else from the brand!)

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey ~ (This is a pretty viral product too - the shade was every where because it looks so dark, but just adds a pretty tint!)

Also, there was one product that I didn't swatch that was included:

Laneige Lip Treatment Balm ~ This is a lip balm and I love the night formula so I will use this!

Nars Soft Matte Tinted Lip Balm in Brief Encounter ~ $37.00 CAN. A sheer, matte lip balm that delivers a wash of nude color for a diffused, blurred effect.

Again, I've been in to the tinted balm formula and I've heard rave reviews about this! I love the idea of it being a matte balm, so I picked up a light brown neutral nude shade!

Here's a look at the shade Brief Encounter swatched on me - it's a lovely neutral shade. The only thing is I thought a tinted balm would be a little more smoothing on the lips. I know it's matte, but still thought it have a bit of hydration with it!

Here's a look with a few of the products on - I have the highlighter on my cheeks, the Nars matte tint on my lips and the Sephora Collection palette on my eyes!

Also, this is quite possibly one of the worst photos because I forgot to take an actual picture and apparently I didn't smile anywhere in my video to screenshot, but I'm also posting a video on my instagram trying them all out and swatching everything, so you can check that out too

    1. okay, it's not really drying, it's sort of neutral and a little dry feeling - I think when I hear lip balm i'm expecting a little softer of a formula. I guess it makes sense because it's matte and it's pretty on!
