I've been really loving what's coming out of the drugstore lately and honestly, I've found myself shopping there more and more lately (I mean, if something affordable is just as good as high end, why not?!)
So, I've picked up a few things that have been raved about lately (and just a few that caught my eye and looked newer!) - I'm really excited about trying these all out!
What's been catching your eye at the drugstore lately?! I'm always looking to do a haul!
ELF Camo CC Cream in 210 Light Neutral ~ $18.00 CAN. A medium-to-full coverage color correcting foundation with SPF 30 protection.
This isn't super new product, but it's only been in Canada for a few months, so it's newer to me! This is on the higher end of ELF product pricing, it's usually around the $4-$8 range, but it is a good product and I don't think it's too high. It applies smoothly and is lightweight, but with more coverage than a typical tinted moisturizer (I would put this in the medium coverage category). I prefer the application with a sponge, it can look a touch streaky with a brush and sets down well so it wears all day and looks great on the skin - super natural finish!
Here's a look at the ELF Camo CC Cream in 210 Light Neutral swatched on me - just showing it pumped out of the bottle and swatched in.
And spoiler alert - I'm loving the product! It made my October 2022 Monthly Favourites!
Jason Wu Single Ready To Sparkle Creamy Glitter Formula in S2 ~ $17.99 CAN. A glitter shadow that's bouncy and multideimensional.
Again, I don't think Jason Wu isn't super new brand, but it's new to Canada and newer in Shopper's Drug Mart. Again, I think this is somewhat on the higher end of drugstore pricing, but I have heard good things about the brand and was excited to try them. This is essentially a creamy pressed glitter shimmery formula, so you don't need a glitter primer or anything for this creamy formula.
I love a creamy eyeshadow formula, and this one is so pigmented and impactful - it's gorgeous! It's super bold and is fantastic for a shimmery bold lid!
L'Oreal Infallible Grip Precision Felt Eyeliner in Black ~ $16.99 CAN. Up to 30 hour wear. Easy Application. Waterproof. Smudge-resistant. Define and line your eyes with vibrant color that lasts. L’Oreal Paris’s Infallible Grip Precision Felt Liquid Eyeliner glides effortlessly across lids to deliver a smudge-proof, sharp line that lasts up to 30 hours. With five shades to choose from you can find a color with hyper-pigmented intensity for any classic or bold look.
I was in need of a new eyeliner (I love the NYX one, but it frays so quickly that it's difficult to use) - this one is a felt tip and I prefer using a fine, flexible felt tip. I also like that this one has a grippy spot for easier holding. So far, I've enjoyed this - I find it a little finnicky to apply, but overall it does look nice on the eyes.
Here's a look at the L'Oreal Infallible Grip Precision Felt Eyeliner in black - it is said to be smudge resistant, long lasting and a waterproof formula. Again, you can see it's not the straightest application, but it's workable!
Here's a look at the Jason Wu Shadow and L'Oreal Eyeliner swatched on the eyes - the eyeliner looks fine and I love the shimmery glitter of this shadow! It's perfect for this simple, shimmery look!
Maybelline SuperStay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipstick in Unrivaled ~ $18.99 CAN. SuperStay Vinyl Ink delivers up to 16 hours of wear. This no budge liquid lipstick shakes up the laws of longwear with high impact vinyl color that stays all day. Formula enriched with Vitamin E and aloe gives a comfortable feel. Simply shake, swipe and go.
This is probably one of the most hyped up new drugstore products that I've heard about lately - I'm not sure if it's something I would have considered, but I couldn't resist once I kept hearing good things. The high shine vinyl lip is certainly trendy, and again, these are a little more expensive than a typical drugstore lipstick, but I do see them on sale a fair bit, so I would pick one up then!
The Maybelline Vinyl Ink lipstick in Unrivaled is the beautiful berry shade - I've really enjoyed this formula! It goes on nicely and stay tacky for 5-10 minutes (this is time frame I wouldn't eat or drink in), but then it does stay on as a longwear formula with a shiny finish!
Here's a look at the Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink Longwear Liquid Lipcolour in Unrivaled on my lips - this is a gorgeous shade and I love how it wears!
And, here's a look at all four of the products - I'm loving this look (and honestly, it feels like a pretty perfect holiday makeup look!) The ELF CC Camo Cream is my base, and again, really enjoy the wear of this. The Jason Wu shadow and L'Oreal liner on the eyes, and the Maybelline Vinyl lip in Unrivaled on the lips!
I'm super happy with this makeup look and these products - I'm really enjoying all the products (certainly the cc cream, shadow and lipstick!) Have you tried any of these?!
