Quarterly Beauty Empties ~ July - September 2022

Monthly Empties posts were getting a little overwhelming - they were a lot to write and keep notes about. I've decided to still talk about empties, but only makeup products and skincare products (no more body, hair, nail or personal care products!) It was just getting too much, but I still want to share my thoughts on products I've used up!

Some products may have been received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ~ $43.00 CAN (travel size shown here). An award-winning lightweight setting and finishing spray that keeps makeup fresh, smudge-proof, and transfer resistant for up to 16 hours.

I needed a travel size setting spray for my trip to Italy previously this year. This one was perfect for locking everything in crazy humid weather - I knew this one would be perfect and I wasn't wrong! This did make my favourites in May 2022 and it's one of the best setting sprays ever!
Repurchase: Already have!

E.L.F. Instant Lift Brow Pencil in Neutral Brown ~ $4.00 CAN. Slim mechanical pencil shapes, defines and fills in brows for a natural, polished look. Dual-sided design applies color with one side and tames and combs eyebrows with the other.

I'm pretty picky about brow formulas that I love, so this one is a good dual sided pencil, with a spoolie, which is a must have. The size of the pencil was good, although I'm used to a little slimmer. This was a decent formula - it was creamy and applied well. It was personally almost a little too creamy for my liking. I prefer a bit stiffer of a formula so it can look a little more hair like.
Repurchase: Not likely

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron+ Tinted Lip Treatment in Red ~ $14.99 CAN. Hydraluron+ tinted lip treatment in red contains extremely soothing ingredients that are designed to nourish, plump, hydrate, and tint lips.

This is nourishing and hydrating lip treatment and it adds just a tiny tint, but also makes the lips look luscious and a little fuller! It lasts a while and is so lovely! This made my Favourites in 2021, but, I have used some better products since and this is good, but no longer one of my favourites!
Repurchase: Mmm, probably not

Nabla Vicious Mascara ~ $29.75 CAN. This high-volume, high-drama, vinyl formula is here to coat every single lash with ultra-dark definition.

This mascara is actually a toss - this formula is one of my least favourites. It did add some volume; it's a little bit spidery though overall. And, the worst part is that it smudges and transfers.
Repurchase: Noooo, never

Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Single Brulee ~ $2.49 CAN. The satiny texture feels as good as it looks–sans fading or creasing–with better blendability and major staying power.

This is a great eyeshadow formula - it was one of my favourites of 2021. This is my go-to base eyeshadow formula and it works really well. This was mostly used up and then just crumbled a little at the end. These are affordable and great!
Repurchase: Yes!

E.L.F. Cosmetics Prime & Stay Finishing Powder in Sheer ~ $4.00 CAN. This lightweight, tinted powder sets your makeup and helps blur the face for a smooth, shine-free complexion.

This is a great finishing powder, I really enjoyed it and it did make my Favourites in March of this year! But, while ELF is so affordable, this is the second powder compact that totally fell apart - it just totally broke at the hinge and it's not worth to repurchase.
Repurchase: Nope

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara ~ $4.99 CAN. The original Lash Princess has a big and bold sister with voluminous false lash effects! The conic shape fiber brush provides lashes with dramatic volume and sculpted length.

This is one of my favourite mascaras - it made my Favourite Makeup Products of 2021I picked up the false lash effect because that's what I like on my lashes and it's lovely - it makes them dark and full and builds up nicely! (My only tiny complaint was about after a month or two it transferred a tiny bit right under my brows where my lashes touch, but it didn't do that brand new!)
Repurchase: Yes

Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Cloths ~ $14.00 CAN.

Okay, these were okay - they were a little on the dry side and I rarely use face wipes anymore (more so just to use to remove makeup swatches). These appear to be discontinued or replaced with a different kind now.
Repurchase: Nah

Indeed Labs Watermelon Melting Balm ~ $24.99 CAN. This oil-based cleansing balm melts onto the skin and creates a gentle lather when mixed with water to dissolve makeup, dirt and oils, all while nourishing dry and dehydrated skin.

I love this cleanser - it made my Favourites last year. I love that it comes in a tube, the packaging is a huge plus for me. The product itself is fantastic - I forgot sometimes to use a second cleanser and didn't need a micellar water or eye makeup remover first. It was just so effective! I think the texture is a little grainy, but overall this is a great, drugstore cleansing balm in a tube.
Repurchase: Already have!

Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer x 2 ~ $52.00 CAN (one travel size shown as well). A lush cream that visibly firms, strengthens skin's moisture barrier, and delivers replenishing, long-lasting hydration for up to 100 hours.

I have a fill size and travel size of this - these are older, they have updated their moisturizer formula since (I think the formula is pretty similar). But, this was a great, hydrating and nice and light on the skin.
Repurchase: Maybe!

Tony Moly Minions Blemish Patch ~ $11.00 US. The sticker-like hydrocolloid acts as a protective cover over the blemish to keep you from picking while reducing inflammation, so the blemish becomes smaller in less than one day.

These were really fun - I picked up some minions items. These were little hearts and they were fine. They weren't really memorable and they didn't really wow me in terms of targeting blemishes; I've used better.
Repurchase: Probably not

Eyenlip Easy Herb Cleansing Oil ~ $2.00 for travel pack. Hydrophilic oil provides deep cleansing of the skin, helps remove makeup, effectively in the fight against black spots.

This was actually a great little pack and a good cleansing oil - the formula itself was good as well and it took off all my makeup! I used one of these on a full two week trip, and this one came travelling with me all Summer and was great.
Repurchase: Yes, I would try and pick this up for another trip!

Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Night Cream with Vitamin C ~ $63.00 CAN. A hybrid night cream and overnight mask formulated with vitamin C, superberries, squalane, and hyaluronic acid to hydrate, plump and brighten skin.

This was a night cream - I loved that this was a thick formula that absorbed well in to the skin and was super hydrating! I thought this left my skin very moisturized in the morning and this smelled great!
Repurchase: I would consider it!

Rohto Mentholatum Skin Aqua Super Moisture Essence Sunscreen SPF50+/PA++++ x2 ~ $15.29 CAN. Essence-type sunscreen boasts strong SPF 50+ PA++++ protection. Waterproof, sweat-resistant formulation is proven to not cause allergies. Suitable for use on both face and body.

I've talked about this sunscreen before - this is one of my favourite sunscreen formulas! I have combo to oily skin, especially in the Summer and this holds up so well in the heat we had all Summer (even in Italy!) My skin looked great and this does not look greasy on the face, absorbs well and works fantastic. It's all about the PA++++ and Japanese sunscreens are the best there is!
Repurchase: Already have!

XO Face Care Lunar Veil ~ $210.00 CAN (travel size shown here). The bio ferment sea kelp acts as the ultimate, nourishing antioxidant, while calendula and chamomile balances and hydrates the face. This soothing combination multitasks overnight so you can wake up, rinse, and face the day with smooth skin.

Okay, this may be XO Face Care's hero product and it's amazing! Made my Favourites earlier this year and it's truly fantastic and hydrating to the skin overnight! This is such a gorgeous formula - it features bio ferment sea kelp, calendula, and chamomile and seriously delivers on the nourishing and the soothing. It protects and supports the natural regeneration processes of your skin and seals in the moisture - even the first night of using, my skin felt super smooth the next morning, so after weeks of use, it had made my skin overall so soft and improved!
Repurchase: Yes, will do!

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist ~ $62.00 CAN (travel size shown here). A silky, fine mist moisturizer that can be used under or over makeup for dewy glowing skin anytime, anywhere.

The first time I used this, it was more as a makeup spray; but, this time around I used it solely as a skincare mist and I preferred it as that. It can be both, which makes it versatile. This was good, it's on the pricey side, but I thought the travel size was a reasonable price and I loved it for that.
Repurchase: Possibly

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask ~ $59.00 CAN. A skin-smoothing, radiance-boosting sleeping mask with watermelon and hyaluronic acid for post-facial results, all in one jar.

This was a past super favourite product before - they did announce that it was discontinued and then they reformulated it recently. I did love the original formula and it was great at resurfacing and brightening my skin. I haven't tried the new formula, but I do want to try it out!
Repurchase: I would like to try the new formula!

Laneige Water Bank Hydro Essence ~ $51.00 CAN. An essence that drenches skin in essential moisture to help boost hydration and prevent water loss.

This is a nice tiny little essence package - this was a good little serum, I took it on my trip to Italy as well as my travels through the Summer and it lasted for all of them. I thought it was nice and moisturizing, but also light for the warm months.
Repurchase: Maybe!

XO Face Care Surface O Cleanser ~ $32.00 CAN (travel size shown here). Powerful cleansing, fresher cleaner skin.

I like XO Treatment Rooms skincare products and this was no exception - a good, straight forward cleanser that worked well and was gentle on the skin. I picked up the travel size for my Italy trip and it lasted it that, plus all my Summer trips too!
Repurchase: Ya, probably

Laneige Hypoallergenic Cica Sleeping Mask ~ $45.00 CAN (sample shown here). A hypoallergenic overnight mask that helps soothe stressed skin and strengthen skin’s moisture barrier for a healthier-looking, more hydrated complexion.

This was a past favourite from last year - it's a really nice, rich night cream. I thought it made my skin look nice and healthy!
Repurchase: Most likely

Iunik Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil x2 ~ $20.58 CAN (samples shown here). A mild and complete cleansing oil that deeply cleanses heavy make-up and skin wastes with natural plant oil. It keeps the skin fresh and moist after cleansing.

I like to use these packets on trips or weekends away, and this isn't a brand I've tried much from -unfortunately, these did not work as well as other cleansing oils I've tried. This just didn't get off as much makeup or work as well as I wanted it to.
Repurchase: Nah

Alright, for my third quarter, I used up 7 makeup products and 17 skincare products - I have also used a lot of bath a body products too so this was a good quarter!
