Monthly Beauty and Book Haul ~ October 2022

I'm switching up my Monthly Haul posts a little bit this year, because I'm actually *trying* to stick to a bit of a budget! I've been going a little crazy on the beauty and books front, so I just want to be a little more thoughtful in my purchases. So. I'm trying to keep my beauty and book purchases to $200 a month - we'll see!

I do always love my Monthly Haul posts - it's a good way to keep track of everything that I picked up each month. I don't always blog about everything I pick up (I try to), but if you ever spot anything in here that you really want me to talk about, let me know!

I purchased everything in this post

Pumpkin Spice Palette ~ $12.45 CAN. I picked this up from Shopper's Drug Mart - it was originally $72.45, but I used $60 worth of my Optimum points so I got it for such a good price! I haven't picked up a Too Faced palette in a long time, but I did like this colour story and I'm enjoying the palette so far - a review is forth-coming!

Indie Book Find ~ $21.39 CAN. Okay, I feel like people have been talking about this book and I wanted to pick it up - it's set on a Christmas Tree Farm and I'm here for it. It's an indie published book, but I found it on amazon and am excited to try it and see how it is!

ELF Setting Spray ~ $13.65 CAN. Okay, this is the second time in a couple of months that I took a trip and didn't bring a setting spray and I've had to run out and pick a new one up! I do like this one and it's easy to pick up at the drugstore, but this was a must when I needed one for the weekend when I was in Edmonton.

Chapters Find ~ $18.90 CAN. This was on sale, plus my Plum discount, I had to pick this book up when I saw it. I liked Chloe Gong's first two books and this one sounds even better - a spin off of a character I enjoyed in a bad-ass sounding story!

Indigo Pre-order ~ $19.72 CAN. I love Julie Murphy's book and this Christmas themed rom-com featuring an adult film star is supposed to be a little spicy, but I always love her writing style, so I'm excited to give this a try!

Holo Taco Order ~ $76.03 CAN. I haven't ordered from Holo Taco in a while, but I love their polishes, so I couldn't resist their new polishes! I picked up the Glow in the Dark polish and it is amazing (you can see it on me here) and then I picked up the Wicked Sister Duo that consisted of Double Dare and Favourite Sister - you can see them both swatched on my latest Mani Monday post here

Used Amazon Find ~ $10.22 CAN. I am trying to pick up all of Julie Murphy's backlist books as I love her writing, but this one has been sold out forever, so when I saw it used on Amazon for a good price, I knew I had to pick it up! I will be reading this soon!

ColourPop Palette ~ $25.71 CAN. I thought this was a great release from ColourPop - I really wanted to pick it up because it's got a duochrome in it - then, they offered a free worldwide shipping day with no minimum so I scooped it up and I can't wait to try it!

Wet n Wild Single Shadow ~ $2.61 CAN. This was a great price on Amazon, so when I used my last one up, I had to pick this up. This is my go to base shadow that is my perfect skin-tone shade so I use it for basically every eye look.

Indigo Pre-orders ~ $60.23 CAN. I picked up a couple of pre-orders at the end of the month and I'm excited for all of them! Poster Girl is a new dystopian book from the author of the Divergent series. Also, there is a graphic novel by the author of one of the best graphic novels I've read before and then the Into the Riverlands, is the third book in a fantasy novella series!

Scratch Monthly Mani Kit ~ $20.95 CAN. I did forget to skip this month's kit, since I've already purchased a whole bunch, but these are cute and I will wear these.

Okay, so I spent $281.86 CAN - this is the first month of the year that I've gone pretty far over budget, so whoops, I'm a little bummed I lost track since I've been doing pretty well, but I will just keep being a little more conscious moving forward!
