I purchased everything in this post
I haven't actually tried anything from the brand since their Winter 2019 highlighter releases (which were amazing) - I'm always keeping my eye on things; but, nothing else has really sparked my attention until this release! I love the pink packaging, the strawberry branding and the shade selection in the palette is really pretty! The lippies from the line didn't quite catch my eye, but they do have a beautiful pink lip oil that I thought would pair perfectly with the palette, so I scooped it up too!
I thought shipping was nice and quick; but, as a Canadian, I did get hit with customs on this order (which is a little frustrating because when I paid for shipping, so I always hope duties will be covered with that, but oh well - just something to keep in mind when ordering!)
Jaclyn Cosmetics Strawberry Feels Palette ~ $34.00 US. Jaclyn Hill's Strawberry Feels palette has got you catching feels, with bright and juicy looks for anywhere. The formula glides on like butter, and you get that high pigment coverage in one stroke. Matte, satin, and sparkle finishes with powdered rubies to illuminate skin and visibly brighten for a silky, lustrous finish you'll never get enough of.
This is such a lovely range of pinks and I haven't picked up a pink palette in a long time - I think this has a great mix of light, medium and deep shades, with a lot of mattes in the palette. I have been wanting to try the Jaclyn eyeshadow formula, so this was a great palette to do that with (the previous releases had been a little too same same with palettes in my collection already).
I do like that this has quite a few pink shades (maybe could have used one deep matte red to complete that strawberry feel), but overall I like that there is a couple neutral shades, but also a few brighter pops of pink. This was a Summer release, and I think it's certainly fitting of that!
Picnic ~ matte white
Sugarcoated ~ shimmer rose-gold
Shortcake ~ matte cool-taupe
Picnic Pie ~ matte soft-brown
Cobbler ~ matte red-brown
Lemonade ~ matte pink
Day Date ~ matte coral
Fresh Picked ~ metallic cherry
All the Feels ~ matte raspberry
Berry Whipped ~ matte merlot
The shadows all swatched really nicely - they look really pretty and were nice and smooth going on. Of note, Day Date is considered not eye safe (this is just based on some of the pigments and may cause staining - I'm comfortable with using them on my eyes). I have three eye looks to show below using this palette!
Jaclyn Cosmetics Pout Drip Hydrating Lip Oil in Petal Drip ~ $20.00 US. It’s time for something juicy. Jaclyn Hill’s Pout Drip Hydrating Oil glides on easily for a voluptuous look that’s sheer, high-shine and super glossy. Its cushiony formula is boosted with lip-loving antioxidants and emollients so lips appear smoother and ready for summer.
I was excited to try this out, and if you just saw my August Favourites, spoiler alert - this was on my Monthly Favourites! I love a lip oil, so I get some moisturizing benefits while getting a little hint of colour as well too.
What I like about this lip oil formula, is that it is a bit more of a combination of a lip oil and a lip gloss - it's got a gorgeous, thick finish and adds a light hint of colour, and it lasts a little longer than a normal lip oil formula!
For the first eye look, I started with Shortcake as the base shadow, Picnic Pie in the crease, All The Feels in the outer corner, and Lemonade on the middle lid and Sugarcoated is on the inner lid.
This is a super simple, easy look with the palette; but honestly, I love it. The shadows are pretty - it's wearable with a pop of pink in the outer corner and a beautiful shimmery inner corner!
Here's the look with the shadow palette, and the lip oil on - super happy with this, it was an easy Summer look and I could wear this often! Really happy with how this came together!
For the second look, I went for a brighter, all matte look! I used Day Date in the crease, and I buffed out the edges with Shortcake. Then, I used Cobbler in the outer corner, and Picnic on the lid.
I thought this bright look was a lot of fun - I liked all these shades and I'm happy with the range of the palette and this really made sure that it can be a fun, Summer palette!
Here's the full look with the brighter eye look and the lip oil - love the easy, glossy lip with the brighter eye look! I love this look too! Bright and fun for sure.
For this third look, clearly I went for a darker look - I started with Berry Whipped in the outer corner and then blended it out with Lemonade in the crease, and a little on the lower lash line. I added Fresh Picked all over the lid.
I really wanted to show the depth of this palette to see how deep it could go - I love that shimmery red, and the deep berry shade! This is a great look thats different from most looks I can get with the palettes already in my collection.
And, here's a look at the whole look with the lip oil on the lips - love how the shades balance each other out. I love how they pair well and even though this lip oil isn't technically part of the collection, it pairs so well!
I'm really happy with both of these products - I love the lip oil so much! I also really like the shadow formula and will use this lots. I'm happy to add this in to my collection!
Are you wearing a bronzer here?
