This past week, Mitch and I celebrated our 7 year Anniversary - we had a lovely night, had some wine and went to our favourite Indian restaurant, Karma! It was nice, we always keep our anniversaries pretty low key expect our 5 year trips!

Another huge highlight of the week is that both my boys started their first day of school - Elliott started his first day of Kindergarten and then Damian started his first day of Grade 12. It's so crazy that I have one on their last year and one on their first year, but we'll start all over again! It's really exciting for both of them and I hope they have great years.

I was so excited when Britney Spear's new song was released this week - I'm rooting for a comeback for Britney after everything going on for. The song if you haven't heard it yet, is with Elton John - Hold Me Closer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hLtlzkoGPk
I think it's a fun, catchy song!
FOUR
I'm soooo excited about House of the Dragon - I couldn't watch it the day it was released and had to wait until this week, and it's so good! I love the characters and the Targaryens are undoubtably the craziest family in Westeros so I love that they are getting their own prequel show. It's actually inspired me to listen to the 26 hour audiobook of Fire and Blood! The first two episodes have been so good (a little extra gory, but maybe it's just been a while!) What do you think?!
FIVE
I haven't talked a ton about it since going vegetarian at the start of the year, but I thought I'd share more of the veggies meals that I've been trying out and loving. I'm not preachy about going vegetarian, but I do think everyone should reduce their meat consumption, so even if one day a week you want to do meatless Monday, hoping you will find some good suggestions!
Here's some of my favourite veggie meals from August:
-homemade cavatelli pasta with roasted tomato sauce (I used Jamie Oliver's recipe for the pasta, no meat in the sauce obviously)
-beyond meat crunch wrap supremes (I also like to bulk mine up with mushrooms and lentils)
-vegetarian nachos
-cacio e pepe pasta
-avocado toast with everything bagel seasoning
-breakfast bowls with roasted potatoes, veggies, eggs and hollandaise sauce
-peanut butter toast with Dutch hagelslag
-tofu sushi bowls with edamame and veggies
-tiktok ramem (recipe here, just fried with brown sugar, garlic and soy sauce)
-fried rice and gardein pork bites
-veggie chick'n Ceasar wraps
-creamy zucchini sauce over egg noodles (recipe here - this was sooo good, will make again when I have lots of zucchini to use up!)
-balsamic mushrooms, green beans and rice
-homemade Summer salad rolls and peanut sauce
-homemade veggie pizza
-eggs and tofu bacon breakfast wraps
I hope you all have a great weekend!
