Five on Friday - January 21, 2022 ~ Auria LED Light Therapy Mask, Delicious Lentil Daal, Tobogganing, TV Show Recommendations, and Eating 30 Plants A Week

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've all had a great week - I'm not feeling well yesterday and today so I'm hoping it is't covid, but I'm awaiting my test result!

ONE

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

Okay, I shared this picture on my instagram this week and I got so many hilarious responses! But, I decided to pick up an L.E.D. face mask a few weeks ago from Indigo - it's the Auria LED Light Therapy Mask - because I found a really affordable one (and honestly, I wasn't will to spend hundreds anywhere else!)

I am planning to wear this for at least 8 weeks before I do a review and I took before pictures, because I really want to see if it is worth it! So, I wanted to share because I've been enjoying it thus far, but stay tuned for an update if you've been interested in these!

TWO

Listen, with all the new vegetarian meals I'm making, I should really work on my food photography - I keep eating my nicely plated meals and remembering to take photos of my leftover lunches! Either way, this Easy One Pan Lentil Daal Curry is delicious - it was a 30 minute recipe, and I served it with rice and peas and it was so good!

THREE

We had such a nice weekend last weekend, the weather was sooo good - we went out tobogganing with our friends and Elliott had a blast (he also went skiing and skating this week, so he a full week of Winter activities!)

FOUR

Okay, so if I am stuck at home isolating for a few days - what are your most recommended shows to watch?! I'm usually a big sucker for trashier or mindless shows, so let me know what I should watch! (As I'm typing this, I'm binging the new season of Too Hot To Handle).

FIVE

Okay, so late last year, I read a bit about health/going plant based etc. and I have been switching to a very heavily vegetarian diet. But, also, one of the things that I read quite a bit about was how helpful plant diversity is for gut health and overall benefits - and the studies have shown that eating over 30 different plants is the best for your stomach health. So, I've been trying to see how I do with my regular grocery shopping to see if I can do it, and for the past 3 weeks that I've been tracking it, I've totally been able to! I'm never in to dieting or weight loss, but if I can do something that's good for my health like eating more plants, then I'm in! Also, grains that come from plants, seeds, all of it counts!

I hope you all have a good weekend!

  1. I've always been curious about those LED masks. I'll be keeping an eye out for your review.

TV shows I've finished lately: The Witcher, Van Helsing, Emily in Paris, Yellowstone. I'm currently catching up on season 2 of Locke and Key.

I'm trying to have food diversity in the house, but my kiddo is so picky that it's not easy.

    1. Ya - I will review probably in early March, I want a full 2 months in to see how it really works overall!
And thank you - I really need to get back in to the Witcher, I liked it but stopped!
My little guy is so picky too - I try and slightly adapt a version he will eat without me torturing him!

  2. I hope you are feeling better especially with such a busy weekend coming up for you! We try to do a lot of vegetarian meals as well and daals and curries are the best for it! So much flavour!
