Five on Friday - April 2, 2021 ~ Monthly Makeup Baskets, March Scratch Monthly Mani Kit, Skin Care For Your Soul Book Review, and Declutter

Happy Friday everyone! And, happy April - I keep saying this every month, but where did that month go?! We are on our way to the cabin for a very isolated, socially distanced Easter, so I'm looking forward to some relaxing time!

I have been keeping up my Monthly Makeup Baskets throughout this pandemic; but, I am finding it a little hard to use everything in a single month as I am wearing masks all the time. So, for now, I am going to do bi-monthly baskets just so I can get a little more use out of the products that I'm using!

Here's a look at the products I'm focusing on for April and May:
  • Jaclyn Cosmetics Accent Light Palette in "The Flash" ~ This was a limited edition product, but these shades were all recently released in singles, so if you're interested, they exist again. This is a lovely palette so I'm happy to use this for the next two months!
  • Physicians Formula Rose All Day Petal Glow in Petal Pink ~ This is a pretty glowy blush on me (or highlighter for a deeper skintone than mine) and I absolutely love this!
  • ColourPop Disney Designer Enchanted Mirror Pressed Powder Blush ~ This is a light pink, pretty blush and it's a perfect every day blush! I've gotten lots of use out of this and know I will reach for this a lot the next 2 months!
  • Pixi On-the-Glow Blush in Juicy ~ This is a new blush in my collection and it was an instant Favourite in March and I'm so impressed with this formula! Can't wait to use it more the next couple of months!
  • Auric Glow Lust Radiant Luminizer in Selenite ~ This is another very new product in my collection and this can be a liquid highlighter, or mixed with foundation, etc. for a more versatile product!
I'm really excited to use all of these products for the next two months!

TWO

And, here's a look at the products that I've been using for the past two months:
  • Becca Apres Ski Glow Face Palette ~ I got this back in my 2018 Beautylish Lucky bag, but I honestly never reach for this and I did not touch this in the past 2 months (and now Becca is going out of business), so I think it's time to declutter it and pass it on!
  • Morphe Mini Blush in Spirit ~ This is an easy, every day pink blush and I do really like the formula!
  • Wet n Wild MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder in "Written in the Stars" ~ This is a pretty loose highlighter, and I didn't reach for this much, but I still used it a little and it's beautiful!
  • Too Faced Sweet Peach Papa Don’t Peach Blush - this is such a pretty blush - it's been a favourite and I even hit pan while in my Project Pan last year, and this is lovely. I'm trying to get some use before it's time to toss it!
Overall, had some great products to use - I'm not sure why I'm not compelled to use the Becca palette at all, it's so pretty, but I'm happy to pass it on to a new home!

THREE

I just got my March 2021 Scratch Monthly Mani Kit and as always, it is super cute! This is an easy, affordable subscription that features nail wraps from GoScrachIt that are exclusive to the kit each month and designed by NinaNailedIt!

The Scratch Monthly Mani Kit is $18.00 US monthly with free shipping everywhere! Each month you get an exclusive set of wraps that aren't available for purchase and a little extra mani goodie with it!

This month's subscription came with:
  • Take Flight nail wraps
  • Rose Hearts nail gems
I have to say, these nail wraps are easily my favourite nail wraps to use - I have tried quite a few wraps and nothing compares! You can see past reviews and nail looks on Scratch wraps here if you are interested! These ones are really pretty and I can't wait to use them soon!

FOUR

Keeping up my book reviews, Skin Care For Your Soul was just released this week and it was lovely! Jude Chao is the blogger behind Fifty Shades of Snail, and her blog helped me immensely with my discovery of k-beauty (I've even listened to every episode of the Snail Cast podcast!) This book helped breakdown each step, and focused on the most important first if you are just getting started in the skincare world.

I loved the ingredient breakdown and how they are best applied based on each skin type! I certainly flagged some pages for future reference and know I will be recommending this to people interesting in delving further in to skincare!

FIVE

And heres a look at my March Declutter - the detox pads were just something that I haven't reached for at all, so I'm going to pass them on. The Bio Sculpture top coat just did not dry down at all, so I'm not going to use this again. The Beauty and the Beast products were not good (I will review soon) and The Balm liquid shadow broke before I even used this. The masks, I'm just not going to use peel off masks any more.

I hope you all have a great Easter Weekend!
