I will be honest, e.l.f. isn't a brand that I've tried much from and hadn't really been on my radar, but that's likely going to change for me after trying some of these newer products I've seen from them - I'm really liking what I've picked up!
I purchased everything myself - this post contains affiliate links
I'm a pretty recent convert to drugstore brand makeup - just within the last couple of years, I've taken more opportunities to try brands I hadn't before, and they've mostly really impressed me! I was intrigued when the Bite Size Eyeshadows were released, but they took a while to release in Canada, and I picked up a couple, but had sort of just held on to them without try these for a while.
But then, I saw the Bite Size Face Duos and I did not want to wait for them to show up in stores in Canada (because I still don't think they have), so I caved and ordered from the e.l.f. website so I could try them. They offer a discounted shipping rate to Canada on orders of $15 or more - it's only $2.50 for shipping, and such a low threshold - I would certainly place an order again through them.
e.l.f. cosmetics Bite Size Face Duos ~ $3.00 US. Get on-the-go cheeky glow with these highlighter, bronzer and blush powder duos. Each palette features complimentary shades that are highly pigmented and versatile for every skin tone.
Yes, you read that right - these are only $3! They are small, but are still a good size blush and highlighter. These come in 8 different duos and have quite a range of shades from light to dark, so there should be something for everyone! The range includes a combo of shimmer and matte blushes, as well as bronzers and highlighters.
The duos I picked up are Spiced Apple (top highlighter and blush) and Lychee (bottom highlighter and blush). They are both similar in deepness, but one is more peach and the other is more pink.
The formula is really good on these - I'm using Spiced Apple in a Monthly Makeup Basket and it's quickly become a go-to formula. It's easy to apply, nicely pigmented and lasts all day! I would easily pick up more of these duos, they are really nice.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Bite Sized Shadow Palettes ~ $3.00 US (or $4.00 CAN). Eyeshadow palettes that deliver mini eye magic in a perfect size. The luxe formula is creamy, blendable, & ultra-pigmented.
For this price, I could not resist trying these! There is 8 different shades of palettes and each come with a combination of shimmers and mattes. I love the idea of a small quick palette to take anywhere or help you come up with that easy dont-have-to-think-about-it daily eye look! I think they tried to give each palette a range of light to deep within their colour stories.
I have heard mixed reviews of these palettes, or that they are only good for the price; but, I actually thought there were a good shadow formula - the mattes where easy and blendable. They were good in the crease and the corner and the shimmers were incredibly pigmented when applied with a finger! I was a little worried to try them after mixed reviews and was pleasantly suprised. I would absolutely pick these up in other colour stories, if I like the colours in them!
e.l.f. Cosmetics Sheer Slick Lipstick ~ $5.00 US. This silky slick lip formula was inspired by the summer days of biting into juicy, delicious fruit. Let this lipstick melt into your lips leaving you with a sheer wash of color and a smooth, hydrated feel.
Spoiler alert - if you saw my November Monthly Favourites, then you know that this lipstick in Golden Pear is one of my favourites! These come in 8 different shades from peach to pink to berries!
These are a super comfortable to wear and offer a tad more colour than a tinted lip balm, but they are still comfortable and adds a hit of gloss to the lips, and I love the finish of these! They wear well but also wear off nicely too, especially the lighter shade!
For this look I have the Cream & Sugar shadow palette on the eyes - I used all four shadows for the eye look: the lightest as a base, the deepest in the outer corner and lightly through the crease, the medium shimmer on the lid and the lightest in the inner corner! I also have on the Spiced Apple blush and highlighter to the cheeks. And, to finish the look I used the Golden Pear Sheer Slick Lipstick!
All of these products were easy to apply, wore well and looked nice on! I like this look and have replicated multiple times!
For this look, I used the Rose Water eyeshadow palette on the eyes, I used all 4 eyeshadows: the lightest matte through the crease, the deepest glitter matte in the crease, the medium shimmer on the lid and the lightest shimmer in the inner corner. I also have the Lychee blush and highlighter on my cheeks and the Dragon Fruit lipstick on my lips.
I was surprised by how pigmented the Dragon Fruit lipstick was, but also the shimmers in the shadows are so stunning on the eyes! The face palette was really nice and I'm happy with everything!
Have you tried e.l.f. cosmetics lately? What would you recommend?
