December 2020 - Lush Kitchen Subscription Box

I was SO excited earlier this year when Lush Kitchen announced that they were starting a subscription box, of course I ordered it right away and the first box was in May! It is a little pricey with the conversion to Canada; but, I've only been getting it every other month and I've been loving it!

December 2020 - Lush Kitchen Subscription Box
I purchased this box

The Lush Kitchen Subscription box is a monthly subscription box full of exclusive Lush Labs goodies made exclusively for the box - every month subscribers vote on the monthly menu of products that they would or would not like to see in the box, so you can help pick what is included in the box! Also, all of the products included in each box will be vegan.
Each month the Lush Kitchen Subscription box is £35/month + shipping (shipping to Canada is £17.95), so all together the cost of the subscription box in Canada is £52.95 a month, which converted to $94.13 CAN this month). The subscription will come with 4-5 exclusive products and I think it will include a variety of products that Lush makes; but, will of course be mostly bath and body products.

December 2020 - Lush Kitchen Subscription Box

Each month you pay and vote for products that are coming in the following month's box - so for this December box, you have until November 5 to vote on the products you'd like to see and then payment comes out on the 6th of the previous month. Then, Lush spends the month making the products and ships it out at the end of November so you receive it in December!  Also, just because you vote for a product does not guarantee that you will receive the item -  they will make the most popular products as well as through in a few that weren't voted on! The box is a complete surprise until you receive it!

You do have the option to skip months, which I love in a subscription and I have skipped and will continue to skip here and there since this subscription box is quite expensive with shipping to Canada, so I will likely keep it as a little treat every couple of months!

The box arrived filled with Lush's usual cornstarch peanuts to help the environment as well as a product card and an ingredient card. Here is a look at the products in the December 2020 box:

December 2020 - Lush Kitchen Subscription Box

Lush Hot Toddy Shower Gel ~ This spicy, Winter tonic is sure to turn up the heat and raise the spirits.

This is a delicious, perfect Christmasy scent - you get cinnamon and cloves and smells so spicy and warm. Hot Toddy was a retro holiday scent and this was fun to get in this box and I love the shower gel formula! And, in these boxes, I love when they include this size of shower gel because it certainly makes the box worth it for me. (Price point, this is around $23 CAN).

Lush Snow Fairy Body Scrub ~ Ready for sweet, candyfloss-scented buffing to lift you onto cloud nine?

I was really excited for the December box because I was hoping for a special Snow Fairy scented products and we got one! Snow Fairy is my favourite Lush scent and I love this body scrub formula as it foams and lathers while scrubbing! I'm so excited for this product! (Price point, the is around the $20 CAN mark).

Lush Smitten Hand Cream ~ Soothing chamomile and marigold infusions mark the beginning of your long-term relationship with softer hands.

I like that this box has included some not so typical bath and body products - a scrub and a hand cream (I know we've gotten lotions, but I like to use specific hand creams!) This is another retro scent from about 10 years ago and it smells delicious and the formula is really nice! (Price point, this would be around $22 CAN).

December 2020 - Lush Kitchen Subscription Box

Lush Jingle Spells Bath BombDescribed as a fruity concoction of gin and fennel, Jingle Spells is comprised of four essential oils; juniperberry, tangerine, fennel and ylang ylang.

This is another retro Christmas scent - I was expecting a lot of classic scents from Christmas pasts and this box certainly delivered. This is much more of a muskier scent than I would typically reach for, but I will certainly still use this! (Price point, this would be around $7 CAN).

Lush Christmas Eve Bubble BarThe story behind the Christmas Eve Bubble Bar is that it was intended to help calm excitement and soothe anxiety the night before Christmas, when presents and Santa Claus are at the top of your mind.

Again, another retro Lush product and the story behind this is adorable - it is scented with Jasmine and ylang ylang and it's very relaxing smelling. I love that this isn't a typical holiday scent, but it's still a holiday product! This is a smaller bubble bar, but could still be used for at least two baths if you wanted to stretch it out! (Price point, this is around $10 CAN).

As a Canadian the shipping cost really adds to the total cost making this just under $100 per month for me. I paid $94.13 for this box, which works out to about $18.83 per product, with the 5 products in the box. This came with about $87 worth of products, which is more than a few past boxes and that makes me pretty excited!

I will be honest, this isn't a box that you would pick up for a huge value, this is mainly about getting exclusive and retro Lush products! If you are a Lushie, you will likely love this box for the nostalgia and exclusive scents! I also typically skip some months, so I'm not getting a January box, but I still want to get a February box because I love Lush's Valentine's Day products!
