Five on Friday - December 4, 2020

Happy Friday everyone! Another busy week, so I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend!

ONE

The Pixi Beauty quad was received as a PR sample, everything else was purchased by me - this post contains affiliate links

I have been keeping up my Monthly Makeup Baskets throughout this pandemic; but, I am finding it a little hard to use everything in a single month as I am wearing masks all the time. So, for now, I am going to do bi-monthly baskets - I typically feature older products, but I have quite a few newer face products that I will be focusing on for December and January:

  • Kaleidos Space Age Highlighter in Ray Rider ~ Kaleidos was a brand that I wanted to try for 2020 and I just picked up a few products - I loved the eyeshadow palette and I'm excited to see how the highlight is!
  • Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Highlighter ~ This is a stunning gold highlighter, but I don't think it's available any more. It made my Favourites back in September 2018 and it's a really lovely formula - this is the only older product in my collection that I'm focusing on for the next two months!
  • Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in Werk ~ This was in the Sephora birthday gift and I just tried this for the first time. I am always a little nervous about cream blushes, but I think I enjoy this stick formula and it dries down and wore well when I briefly tried it - I'm excited to see how this will be!
  • Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in Pearlescent Pink ~ I have heard such good things about this formula and I placed an order in the Summer, but it took a long time to get to me. I haven't tried this yet, but it's a pretty shimmery pink formula and I'm excited to see how I like it!
  • e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo in Spiced Apple ~ I placed an elf order recently as I have heard such good things about these face duos and they are super cute - I've just started to use them and I have to say, so far I really like them! Happy to play with this more over the next couple of months!
  • Pixi Nuance Quartette in Honey Nectar ~ I was really excited to try some face products from Pixi Beauty and this palette is so cute - I did a full look and swatches of this palette (and a few other Pixi products) on a past post here, but I'm excited to use this more!
I'm looking forward to using all of these products for the next two months!

TWO

I placed a recent Ivory Lane Boutique for the new The Roster sweater, and I picked up a few things on sale - a dress, romper and bralette. I always love the clothes they have on this site and these all fit well!

THREE

I have been subscribed to the President's Choice Insiders Club for a while as I like the free pickup on groceries, plus free Shoppers Drug Mart shipping. I just upgraded to an annual plan for $119.00 CAN a year - may seem a little high, but there is extra point perks and we used to have a $5 a week charge for grocery pick up, so that covers that for us. They sent a little gift basket over for the upgrade and it included some chocolate, maple butter, a candle and hot chocolate - all things that will get used in my house!

If you are interested, I have a referral code that will get you $25 in Optimum points if you sign up (I love that these can be used at Superstore or Shoppers now:

FOUR

I think I've said it already in another post, but can you believe it's already December?! Whoa where did that go! What kind of advent calendar are you using to count down the days? I've got the Sephora Collection one, but I got the family a whole bunch of good ones this year - we are all pretty excited about them! It's hard to believe Christmas is almost here and this year is just so weird, it's hard to picture Christmas right now, but I'm hoping we are allowed small indoor gatherings by that time as we just have small families in town!

FIVE

I hadn't shared yet, as I was hoping to do a full post right away (but ain't nobody got time for that right now!), but I was pretty excited to get one of the Nabla Trendmood boxes and I'm quite excited! Nabla is a brand that was on my wishlist to try this year and all the sudden Ulta stopped shipping to Canada, so I didn't place an order. But, this box was a great deal - these are all brand new products and it worked out to $77.73 CAN ($44.00 US) and the box came with:
  • Nabla Ruby Light Glitter Palette ~ $37.00 CAN. This four-colour eyeshadow quad contains intense, magnetic shadows that have a chameleon finish. With one swipe, the intense glitter formula delivers ultimate colour pay off that shifts and reflects under light. The super soft formula has minimal fall-out and doesn’t require a primer or glitter glue.
  • Nabla Side by Side Nude Palette ~ $56.50 CAN. This sixteen-colour palette has all the soft, neutral tones you need to take your look to the next level. Featuring a range of mattes, foils, and shimmers, each shadow has a silky soft formula that buffs and blends onto the lid for a seamless finish.
  • Nabla Major Pleasure Mascara ~ $23.75 CAN. Complete with a full-bristled brush, Major Pleasure Mascara creates instant volume, extreme length and a dramatic panoramic effect. The deeply-pigmented formula is enriched with a blend of waxes and spherical powders to structure and revitalises each lash from root to tip – perfect for an intense gaze.
  • Nabla Ruby Complete Eye Brush Set ~ $53.50 CAN. With eight high-quality brushes to help you create the perfect eye and brow looks, the set is ideal for every beauty obsessive from the pros to the newbies looking to build their collection. Made with super soft synthetic fibres, the brushes come with a chic metallic bag to keep them clean and safe.
This clearly came with a great value and I'm hoping to try the products out soon! This isn't a subscription box, but Trendmood comes out with one time boxes using around once per month, sometimes they are with single brands like this and sometimes a variety of new products. The box also varies in price based on what is included, but it shipped really fast and I'm excited to try these!

I hope you all have a nice, quiet weekend!
