Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have had a great week - I love a short work week and this one flew by!
ONE
I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links
I just received my August Owlcrate subscription and this month's theme is "Written In The Stars". Each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and comes with a note from the author as well - they often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun! As a bookworm, I have been loving this subscription!
The items included in this month's box are:
- Book - Star Daughter by Shveta Thakrar ~ the main character is the daughter of a star and a human and while she is living in the mortal world, she needs to go to world of stars seeking help for her father - this is a fantasy with a strong backdrop of Hindu mythology. This sounds so good and this book is stunning (they changed the cover to purple and it has deep purple sprayed edges too!)
- Star Shaped Bottle ~ this is a cute little star jar full of push pins - the pins are fine, but the jar is adorable, fits the theme well and already has a place on my bookshelf!
- Clipboard ~ I actually like the more stationary products that owlcrate has included because they are things I will use, I could either bring this to work or use it at home. It is designed by Daphna Sebbane and is inspired by Aurora Rising. It's really pretty!
- Bandana ~ this bandana was inspired by Strange the Dreamer and designed by Fern and Ink - it can be used as a hair accessory, or a neck scarf or bracelet. This is cute, but it's not something I will really use.
- Metal Star Pen ~ this is just a cute little pen with a star on top to go with the theme and it fits and will get used!
- Enamel Pin ~ this month's enamel pin was designed by Band of Weirdos and was inspired by the lotus flower used to reach the stars in the book, plus the moon in the flower glows in the dark!
- Book Sleeve ~ this book sleeve was designed by Quirky Cup Collective and inspired by The Starless Sea - I absolutely love this book so I was so excited to see this and it's gorgeous!
If you are interested in signing up, Owlcrate is $29.99 US per month, plus shipping, which just went up to $14.99 to Canada.
I actually skipped the September box - the first time I've skipped this subscription. Theme wasn't really for me, so it is expensive and I think I will only get a box now when I'm really interested in the theme!
TWO
This past weekend we checked out the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary - I had never been before and it's so beautiful! Saw lots of birds and can you see a little deer friend in the background! it's a beautiful walk and quiet spot!
THREE
I picked up the September Coop white wine kit - it came with a good variety of delicious wines: Chardonnay, Rose, Sauvignon Blanc and more! I'm looking forward to diving in to all of these!
FOUR
I'm really trying to focus on my fitness a little bit more lately - I mean nothing crazy, but trying at least to work out 3 days a week or get some walking in.
So, I picked up the Fullmosa Smart Watch - it was just over $60, which was a great price and I'm excited to start tracking my steps and sleep more to take a little better care of myself!
And, saw from Holly's Housewife Life stories about Emkfit and I checked her out and she is awesome! She does HIIT workouts that feel amazing, are dancy feeling but tough, and quick! I'm really enjoying them!
FIVE
We sadly cancelled our Italy trip earlier this year, so this week we rebooked our trip for next year - fingers crossed that we can go in May 2021. I'm trying to stay hopeful and I really want to go!!
I hope you have a great weekend!
Such a cute box! I love the enamel pin and the star bottle :)
