Five on Friday - March 6, 2020

Happy Friday everyone and Happy March!!! Okay, while January dragged on forever, February just flew by! I always love March because it means the end of Winter is coming (although in Calgary, Spring in snowy season for a few more months), but I'm looking forward to some warmer weather!

ONE

I still think I'm playing a little catch-up this week - I had the worst cold last week and all of last weekend. It totally wiped me out and I couldn't do anything! I actually felt really rough at the start of this week too. I couldn't even do anything fun for the extra Leap Year day we had! But, I'm finally feeling better now!

TWO

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

I'm keeping up my Monthly Makeup Baskets for 2020 because I really enjoyed that they helped me shop my stash and allowed me to use and love everything in my collection! I always like to remember the older products and not let them get pushed aside when I get something shiny and new!

The products that I'm using in March are:
  • Natasha Denona Bloom Blush & Glow Palette - this is such a pretty little palette that I picked up recently in a Facebook marketplace find, so I really want to try out this formula more!
  • ColourPop Coronation Pressed Powder Highlighter ~ this is such a pretty highlighter - it's a little on the lighter side, which will be a good balance to the ND palette this month!
  • Burt's Bees Blush in Shy Pink - This is a great blush formula - it made my Best of Makeup in 2018 -  it's easy and comfortable to wear and this is a great pink shade!
As always, I'm excited to use these products all month!

THREE

And, here is a look at the products that I used for my February Monthly Makeup Basket -  I always like to recap the products I used for the month!
  • Makeup Geek Duochrome Highlighter in Psychadelic ~ I just received this in a recent Tribe Beauty Box - it's a pretty and reflective shade and I liked the formula.
  • Catrice x Eman Blush Palette ~ This is a new blush palette in my collection too (you can see me use it in my Full Faced of Catrice) - it's actually a little too pigmented for me and I ended up decluttering it so someone else who likes a more pigmented formula!
  • Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rosé Glow ~ This is past favourite and it's still gorgeous - I love the formula.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty ~ I love the Tarte blushes, these were actually included in my Best of Beauty 2017 so these are past loves and it still worked great all month!
  • Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hu$tla Baby ~ I hadn't used this for a while and it's really pretty - I loved the formula and thought it wore well!
FOUR

Here's the past month of Palettes of the Week - it turned out I used all the pink palettes for the month of February! I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance and Too Faced Cosmetics Razzle Dazzle Berry palette - both of these palettes worked well and were really pretty! The Physicians Formula Rose All Play was new - I was a little disappointed with overall formula even though I was able to get pretty looks out of the palette. Then, I tried the Marc Jacobs Elec-trick palette - my friend just gave this to me and it's really lovely!

FIVE

Okay guys - I'm trying not to over-react and I haven't been too worried at this point. But, I have a trip to Italy booked for the end of May and I'm really hoping things with the CoronaVirus blow over or slow down by then! I am doing Southern Italy so I'm not going to any affected areas right now but, something to monitor!

How do you feel about travelling right now?! Also, have you been to Southern Italy before - any places to do or see?!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. We have a mini cruise booked fom mid April from London to Amsterdam and not sure if it will be on. I was texting my friend in Italy and she said things are really bad over there - everything is on lockdown.

    1. Such a bad time to plan to travel - we cancelled our trip now so sadly, and I just hope Italy and everywhere else recovers!
