Spring Cleaning with New (To Me) Cleansers - Indeed Labs, NO7, Kosmea, and The Inkey List!

Who doesn't look forward to Spring cleaning as part of there Spring routine?! I'm sure there is some of you getting a head start on their decluttering and organizing with this extra time at home!

Spring Cleaning with New (To Me) Cleansers - Indeed Labs, NO7, Kosmea, and The Inkey List!

I'm actually not planning much Spring cleaning for the house (because extra time at home with a toddler does not leave time for any house chores!), but I will get back in the habit soon! But, I happened to accumulate some new cleansers, so why not talk about Spring cleaning for your face and my thoughts on how these new (and new to me) cleansers work!

I actually use a variety of cleansers in my routine - typically a micellar cleanser to remove makeup, an oil cleanser for my first cleanse and typically a foaming type cleanser as my second cleanse. Then my morning cleanser is any style of cleanser as long as it's light and gentle on the face!

So, here are a few different cleansers I've tried lately:

Indeed Labs Watermelon Melting Balm

Indeed Labs Watermelon Melting Balm ~ $24.99 CAN. Tired of harsh cleansers that strip your skin? Enter watermelon melting balm. This oil-based cleansing balm melts onto the skin and creates a gentle lather when mixed with water to dissolve makeup, dirt and oils, all while nourishing dry and dehydrated skin.

This is my first time trying Indeed Labs and I was really excited to try them as I've heard really good reviews about their products. I love a good cleansing balm - I recently raved about both the Physician's Formula and Farmacy Balms - but I don't love a potted packaging where I have to scoop my finger or a spatula in to the formula, so I love that this is a squeezy tube!

Indeed Labs Watermelon Melting Balm

This product uses watermelon and hemp seed oils to thoroughly cleanse the skin while leaving it bright, glowy and healthy. It's good for all skin types including sensitive and acne-prone skin. This can be used morning or night and it is made free of fragrances, colourants, parabens, drying alcohols, mineral oil, phthalates, sulfates, and silicones.

I personally have been using this as my first cleanser and this is amazing! It is hands down the best balm cleanser I've tried and I love that it is a tube packaging. I can actually use this with a full face of makeup and it will remove everything without a micellar or makeup remover for the eyes, and I don't even need a second cleanser - it actually removes it all. I do still use these other steps because I like to make sure everything is off, but, I certainly don't have to. This is really gentle and so effective!

No7 Nourishing Cleansing Balm

No7 Nourishing Cleansing Balm ~ $14.00 CAN. A nourishing cleansing balm which works to dissolve away make-up, impurities, and pollutants. Enriched with nourishing oils to help gently smooth away dryness, without leaving any residue. Leaves skin feeling perfectly clean, soothed, and silky soft.

This cleansing balm helps to retain moisture levels and feel hydrated. It's formulated with No7's Tri-Vit complex and grapeseed oil to help keep your skin balanced. This is applied like a regular oil cleanser - apply to dry face and massage in, then add water and rinse off with a cloth (I personally follow up with a second cleanser).

No7 Nourishing Cleansing Balm

Alright, this didn't really do it for me, unfortunately. I picked this up as a little bit more of an affordable drugstore option and it was so strongly scented. So, I used to wear CKone many years ago and this smells identical to that - on the first night it was nostalgic, but after that it was overwhelming. It is very heavily scented and it doesn't go away right away so it lingers.

On top of that, this wasn't the most effective cleanser - it left a lot of makeup residue on my face. Also, I'm pretty sure I had a reaction and I had really tiny, breakouts everywhere from this, I just can't use it sadly. Even though, this is an affordable option, I just can't recommend it!

The Inkey List Oil and Water Double Cleanser

The Inkey List Oil and Water Double Cleanser ~ $9.99 CAN. A daily rinse-off Cleanser containing a 2 in 1 formula. The oil phase contains naturally derived botanical oils to effectively remove makeup and impurities. The water phase cleanses and nourishes the skin.

I have been waiting to try The Inkey List - they are a newer, affordable brand that delivers simple, single-ingredient led formulas that focus on a "hero" ingredient. This is a dual cleanser product that contains water, and the oil part contains sweet almond oil and sea buckthorn oil. This is ideal for all skin types.

The Inkey List Oil and Water Double Cleanser

So, you can see this is a dual product, so in order to use it, you have to shake it up so the oil and the water mix! Then you apply to a cotton pad of cloth and gently swipe all over the face to remove makeup and cleanse the skin. Then rinse off with water after.

I did think this was pretty good - I actually prefer it as a morning cleanser. It's really nice to gently swipe over my face in the morning and give a quick rinse. It does work to remove makeup and cleanse the skin at night, but I find that I had to use 2 or 3 cotton pads to fully remove my face of makeup which seems like a huge effort!

Kosmea Clarifying Facial Wash

Kosmea Clarifying Facial Wash ~ $42.95 CAN. This gentle, foaming clarifying facial wash doesn’t dry out your skin or strip it of vital nutrients; it actually replaces it with essential fatty acids, vitamins and provides it with anti-ageing properties.

This is clearly the most expensive cleanser of the group, but I do like this and think it is a nice cleanser! It works to remove skin impurities without being drying - it uses a gentle foaming agent from coconut that sooth the skin while cleansing. It's meant for all skin types, especially young or ance-prone skin.

Kosmea Clarifying Facial Wash

This is a nice, creamy gentle cleanser - it foams up very lightly and gently and just cleanses the skin really nicely. This has been the perfect pair with the Indeed Labs cleanser as my second cleanse. I do also like this as a gentle cleanser for in the morning too, but its great as a second cleanse because it just gently foams up and rinses off anything remaining on my face.

This also says it smells really faintly like Turkish Delight - but sadly, I don't smell it, because I don't really smell much to this which is fine by me!

Spring Cleaning with New (To Me) Cleansers - Indeed Labs, NO7, Kosmea, and The Inkey List!

So, while they aren't all winners here, most are pretty good and one is a total stand-out! What are you Spring cleaning with?!
