I purchased everything in this post, except the jelly highlighter below - this post contains affiliate and referral links
I received my first Owlcrate subscription this week and I'm so excited about it! I'm a huge bookworm and have really been trying to get back in to making more time for myself to relax and read, so earlier this month I thought I'd treat myself to a little birthday gift and ordered a 3 month subscription to Owlcrate (a little different than my typical beauty boxes) as I've been an admirer for years! The November theme was "Through the Enchanted Forest" and I just couldn't resist a theme like that! Also, each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and includes a note from the author as well - they often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun!
This box came with:
- Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw ~ described as a haunting romance about a boy lost in magical woods. This sounds right up my alley, and the book itself is signed, and comes with a special cover exclusive to Owlcrate and sprayed blue edges! I will be diving in to this one soon!
- Enamel Pin by FourSeasonsFox ~ each Owlcrate includes an enamel pin and this one is inspired by a moth that follows the main Winterwood character through the forest! I actually don't use pins really, but I will find something to use it for!
- Throw Blanket ~ this is officially licensed with a quote from Holly Black and The Cruel Prince designed by Bookmark'd Tattoos. It's a gorgeous fleece throw and the purples match my house and it looks lovely on my blanket ladder! (I think this is exclusive for the box too as I haven't seen it anywhere else!) The quote is "All Forests are Magic".
- Reading Planner by Blue Star Press ~ this is super cute, it's an undated planner that has extra pages for book lists, to be read lists, etc. I'm going to use mine as a blogging and reading organizer!
- Metal Tassle Bookmark ~ this bookmark is designed by HerPaperWorld and it says "There was a song in this forest, too, but it was a savage song, whispering of madness and tearing and rage". Even though I'm not familiar with this book, I love this bookmark - it's lovely!
- Wooden Ornament by Juniper and Ivy Designs ~ this is a beautiful laser engraved ornament that says "trees in the eyes, stars in your heart" that is inspired by The Raven Boys series. This is cute and went right on my tree!
- Pipsticks Stickers ~ and, they added a few little magical forest stickers that are exclusive for this box and they really fit the theme!
If you are interested in signing up, Owlcrate is $29.99 US per month, plus shipping ($7.99 to the US, $9.99 to Canada, and $19.99 worldwide). I treated myself to a 3 month subscription so I'm so excited to see what the next couple months will bring!
TWO
Last week we brought Elliott to meet Santa and he was so good! He practiced his line to ask for a Jack Skellington toy, and then got all cute and only asked for a candy cane when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas! Too cute! He's already asked to meet him again so it's a good thing I have a couple more Christmas things lined up! TWO

Here is a look at our family Advent Calendars for 2019! I always love having a fun variety for us! For Elliott, I made a pokemon advent calendar that is a punch game in the shape of a Christmas tree - it's full of pokemons and pokeballs. He's going to love it!
Damian and Mitch each get a chocolate advent calendar - Damian gets a Lindt one and Mitch is getting a Purdys one. I picked up the "Dream Big This Christmas" Advent Calendar from the Body Shop - I love the Body Shop products and it's been a few years since I've had an advent calendar from them! And, my mom picked up this adorable Harry Potter tree calendar - each day will add a new little Harry Potter item to the tree!
FOUR
I just did my Winter FabFitFun unboxing this week and I only picked up one add-on this time - this cute little glass travel mug! I thought this was either great for me or a gift!
FIVE
Time for a recap of my November Monthly Makeup Basket - I will show you my December Makeup Basket next week!
- Besame Briar Rose Blush Palette ~ this is a new palette in my collection and you can see the palette on me here! I loved using this all month - the blushes are very pink and the highlighters are both stunning!
- Etude House Happy With Piglet Jelly Mousse Blusher in PK002 ~ You can see my original review on this blush here! I wasn't super comfortable using a cream blusher, but I really like this applied with a sponge - it's a very soft wash of colour on the cheeks!
- Rodeo Drive Highlighter by OFRA Cosmetics ~ this has been a love since I featured it on Monthly Favourites in May 2017 and it's gorgeous, it's very bold!
- Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in Moonstone ~ this is really pretty - I'm still not sure that this formula is right for me though! I just love a powder highlight!
- Almay Make Them Jelly Hi-Lite in Unicorn Light ~ this a much more glittery highlight than I normally go for, but these are fun!
I had fun with all of these shades this month!
I hope you all have a great weekend - we have a kid's Christmas party and otherwise it should be a quiet weekend!
