Oh look, another mini Natasha Denona - I have been such a fan of the other 2 mini palettes that I've tried, so I picked this one up right away too!
Earlier in the year, I tried both the Natasha Denona Mini Sunset eyeshadow palette and the Mini Lila eyeshadow palette and I was really impressed with both of them! I thought they performed well and the shadows looked amazing on! (Both also made Monthly Favorites over this year).
So, it was a no-brainer when I saw the sneak peek of this palette - I had to pick it up right away!
Natasha Denona Mini Star Eyeshadow Palette ~ $30.00 CAN. The palette features five shades from the existing Natasha Denona Star Palette. These shadows are long-lasting, with strong color payoff, thanks to a high percentage of pure pigments. Extremely buildable and blendable, these shades will not crease, and they easily adhere to the eye, even without using primer.
The difference between this mini palette and the previous two mini Natasha Denona palettes is that this palette includes already existing shadows from the Star palette. Where, the mini Sunset and the Lila palette had shadows that were inspired by the palettes, so the shadows were all new shadows.
So, if you already have the star palette these will be repeats; but, if you're like me and don't have any full size ND palettes, then this is always a good way to try the shadows! And, I've mentioned before that these shadows are a really good size for a mini palette - 0.8 g where a full size shadow is usually 1 g in other palettes (in full size Natasha Denona palettes the shadows are quite big, but either way, these are a good size eyeshadow pan!)
This palette comes with 5 shades and 4 different eye shadow formulas - matte, duochrome, crystal and metallic!
Orion ~ green-brown duo-chrome
Atik ~ medium transition nude matte
Bellatrix ~ nude metallic
Earth ~ dark brown matte
Cosmo ~ sparkling golden olive
This is a really pretty earthy feeling palette! It's so gorgeous - I don't own a lot of olive tones. I was expecting the duochrome to be a little more blue; but, it's still a really unique shadow!
Overall, I really liked this palette! I know this and the other mini Natasha Denona palette have gotten mixed reviews; but, my experience with all 3 has been great. I have not tried the full size Natasha Denona palettes and cannot compare the shadow formulas.
I really like this formula - they last all day and the shadows don't fade at all (even without a primer!) The mattes are soft, applied smoothly and are very blendable. The other shadows applied really nicely - they had amazing pigmentation, especially applying with your finger.
For this look I used Atik in the crease as the transition shade, and Earth to deepen the outer crease. Then I applied Cosmo all over the lid with my finger, and Orion on the outer lid. There is a little Bellatrix in the inner corner.
And here is the eye look with a full face - this is such straightforward; but, really pretty eye look! The best part of this palette is that it is so easy to create a full eye look and the shadows add such a nice pop! I'm a big fan of this eye look!
I love the tones of the palette - it is so easy to wear and it looks so pretty! Cosmo - the sparkling olive is so pretty and all the shadows in the palette are so complimentary!
I've been so happy with this palette! The mini Natasha Denonas are some of my favorite palettes - the looks are just so good! And each mini palette is unique. I'm very happy with them!
Have you tried any mini Natasha Denona palettes yet? These would also fit nicely in to a stocking right about now!
