Happy Manicure Monday everyone and Happy New Years Eve! What better way to ring in the New Year than with 15 different polish options?!
OPI has released a full collection reimagining classic polishes based on the new film, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms!
I actually love The Nutcracker - it is so nostalgic for me! We grew up with ballet in our family (my sister - I was never graceful enough for dancing), so dance was a big deal to us. We still go every couple of years to watch The Nutcracker by the Alberta Ballet. It's such a beautiful story and dance and I always wanted to dance with the Sugarplum Fairy! Also, we had this Nutcracker advent calendar that we read every year leading up to Christmas (you can see it there in my props). So what I'm saying is, I was really excited about this collection and it's so perfect for the holidays; but, with shades that can stretch beyond the holidays!
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms collection comes with 12 limited edition polishes and 3 perfectly coordinating glitters! The range of polishes is based on the drama and visuals of the film and ranges from soft, light pastels, to deep moody shades.
In addition the creme polish finishes, the collection also has foil, shimmer, and pearlescent polishes as well!
This collection also has 3 matching glitter polishes in silver, gold and rose gold!
I was so excited about this collection, so I have swatched all 15 polishes for today's post!
Berry Fairy Fun ~ Pause, take a deep breath and smell the flowers that inspired this purple nail polish.
This shimmery polish is beautiful - I have 2 coats on in this picture; but, I think the beautiful shimmer would have looked best with 3 coats!
Black to Reality ~ Beware! Like the forest, this deep red nail polish is dark, thick, foreboding – and absolutely exhilarating.
This is a unique polish - I don't have a colour like this in my collection! This polish needed 3 coats to be full opaque; but, this was such a deep, vampy shade!
Candied Kingdom ~ Some candy, you’ll find, can be rather hot and spicy- like this red nail polish!
This is a perfect red polish and was beautiful and opaque in 2 coats! I have been doing a few manicures lately and realized that I don't have a perfect true red polish, so this is perfect for me!
Dancing Keeps Me On My Toes ~ Waltz among magical snowflakes on your way to the ballet wearing this metallic nail polish.
How pretty is this pearlescent, shimmery white?! It will be perfect for Winter manis because it looks like glistening snow! This is the polish in 2 coats!
Dazzling Dew Drop ~ You’ll get a glint in your eye when you see the delicious digs of this metallic nail polish.
What a gorgeous, shimmering gold polish! This polish is pictured in 2 coats and it's the perfect gold polish! This will be well used in my collection!
Dreams Need Clara-fication ~ This blue nail polish will have you wanting to get cozy in a charming village perched on the edge of a glacier.
Hello beautiful icy blue polish - this polish is full opaque with 3 coats. This shade is gorgeous! This seems perfect for Winter, but I will happily carry this polish through to Spring manicures as well!
Dreams On A Silver Platter ~ Like the Great Hall, this silver glitter nail polish glows brighter than a chandelier.
This is showing the glitter polish painted on with one coat (over March In Uniform) - you can build it up with more coats or sponging it on. I love the mix of different size glitters and it's perfect for a Winter mani!
Envy The Adventure ~ A land of blooms must be grounded in green like this nail polish.
Ohhh - this is the green polish in 2 coats. Putting this on made me realize that I never really reach for green polishes and this is such a pretty green! I will be making sure to wear this polish in some upcoming manis (I'm thinking this will work so well for Spring manis too).
Ginger's Revenge ~ The tyrant of the Fourth Realm will have you seeing red in nail polish.
This is a bit deeper red than it shows in the picture - closer to a maroon red! It's gorgeous too - this picture is with 2 coats of polish.
Gold Key To The Kingdom ~ Godfather Drosselmeyer presents Clara with a golden thread that leads to a big surprise, which inspired this gold glitter nail polish.
Can I just say that I love the detail of the product names and descriptions all based in the Nutcracker story?! I absolutely love when companies go the extra mile with that detail! This is showing the glitter polish with 2 coats painted over bare nails!
I Pull The Strings ~ Guests of Drosselmeyer’s annual holiday party mingle in their finest garments and rose gold glitter nail polish.
This is the rose gold polish over Toying With Trouble and it's gorgeous - this is actually my chosen mani for New Years! I love this glitter pink combo and this glitter is so pretty!
Lavendare To Find Courage ~ Open your heart – like a blooming flower – to the many hues abound, especially this purple nail polish.
Okay, this is easily my favorite polish shade from this whole collection and it is so gorgeous! It was fully opaque in 3 coats and I love this formula so much! I love that this is really unique for a holiday collection and I will absolutely stretch it through Spring and Summer!
March in Uniform ~ When surrounded by menacing mice, follow the young man in uniform matching this blue nail polish.
Like the green polish, I realized that I never really wear a blue polish and I love this true, deep blue! This is perfect for Wintery nails too and is shown here with 2 coats of polishes!
Tinker, Thinker, Winker? ~ In this land of ice and snow, the light twinkles and glows (just like this metallic nail polish!)
Ooooh, if you are looking for a white/silver shimmer for your New Years Mani, run to your nearest store that sells OPI and put this on! This is shown with 2 coats; but, 3 would likely give a really solid shimmery finish. This is absolutely gorgeous!
Toying With Trouble ~ The delicacies decorating the sweet surroundings will make you blush even brighter than this pink nail polish.
This is a gorgeous pink - easily opaque in 2 coats! I love a true, fuchsia polish, so this will get a ton of use in my collection (exactly why I chose this as my New Years Mani!)
These are all available on the OPI website, Nail Polish Canada, or any store that OPI is sold; but, they are a limited edition collection, so make sure you pick up a colour that catches your eye soon!
And, I just have to show off this nostalgic advent calendar that made me fall in love with The Nutcracker story! This is the exact book from my childhood - my mom still has this and it was so exciting to read it again this year!
Somehow, it's managed 30 years or so and is still in very good collection (I made sure it was kept away from my toddler this year because he could break the unbreakable!) It's so cute and just has a little book with a couple of pages each day with the whole story!
I hope you guys have an amazing night ringing in 2019!
As always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof, Prairie Beauty Love, and Tea & Nail Polish to see their take on "New Years" for their manis this week!

I love the fact that they did all sorts of colours instead of just red, gold and glitter!
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought the range was amazing that they included! And the names are the cutest!
