Happy Mask Wednesday! Today's post has a bonus review - i'm sharing my thoughts on the Skinfood Freshmade Watermelon Mask annnnnd the Ecotools Facial Mask Mates set!
I have used a plastic mask applicator and spatulas before; but, never an actually brush! I'm really exciting to talk about mask products as well as a new mask!
Skinfood Freshmade Watermelon Mask ~ $16.88 CAN/$13.00 US. SKINFOOD'S Freshmade Watermelon Mask is a wash off gel mask that instantly soothes and hydrates complexion, leaving a fresh, subtle watermelon scent. Watermelon is vitamin and anti-oxidant rich. It provides hydration and helps minimize pores and oil production.
I have really liked the Skinfood products that I have tried in the past and I have been wanting to try one of these freshmade masks! Watermelon is a huge skincare trend right now too - it is full of antioxidants and it great for moisturizing and brightening the skin!
This mask is an easy to use wash off mask - wash face, apply toner, apply a generous layer of the mask, leave on the face for 10-15 minutes, massage and rinse off!
This mask applied super smoothly - it's a nice thick jelly formula that you goes on well, doesn't glob off and can be built up! It is nice and cooling on the face and was easy to rinse off really well (especially with the EcoTools sponge!) I did think this was soothing on the skin - also my skin was bright and looked good after using this! It was quick and easy to use too!
EcoTools Facial Mask Mates ~ $10.99 CAN. The EcoTools Facial Mask Mates set is specially designed for an at home spa facial experience. This set includes a Mask Applicator Brush + 3 Mask Remover Sponges.
Environmentally-friendly bamboo handle of the Mask Applicator Brush has soft, flat, cruelty free bristles that evenly apply cream, gel, or clay masks for full, even coverage - mess free.
Three reuseable Mask Remover Sponges, made from natural plant pulp, help to remove excess product while gently exfoliating the skin for a smoother, more radiant appearance.
This is a great idea - I always think about what to use to apply wash-off mask. I hate dipping my fingers in to mask pots (or skincare pots in general), and the spatulas work well to scoop the product out of the pot; but, they aren't great at actually applying the mask to the face! So, a brush is a great idea!
First, this mask brush is suuuuper soft! This is a nice flat brush that made scooping the mask out and applying it to the face really easy. The best part was that there was no mess whatsoever apply the mask - and it's not all over your hands, under your nails or on your counters! I'm a big fan of this and will be using it with all my wash-off mask!
The mask removing sponge is easy to use - get it wet and massage the skin as you remove your mask! I though this worked well to remove the mask and exfoliated the skin light to mediumly (yes, I made that up) depending on how much pressure you use. You could also use these with cleanser to really scrub in to your skin.
Have you tried either of these products before? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I would love a small brush like that for foundation. I hate foundations with no pumps and I don't want the trouble to wash an extra brush.

Ohhh it is a good size for that! It was great for masks too!
DeleteThat mask sounds really nice. I love Skinfood products and I love watermelon! I have not tried the EcoTools products yet, but I already use a brush to apply my face masks - it makes it so much easier! I'm looking forward to trying these out.
ReplyDeleteI know, I can't believe I didn't think of using a brush before for masks!!! Hope you like them too!
DeleteI can't believe this simple set is so life changing! I used to dread clay masks but this makes it so easy!
