Manicure Monday "Inspired By Packaging" - ColourPop Element Of Surprise Palette Nails, Swatches, Review and Eye Shadow Look!

It's Manicure Monday and I'm so excited to include a palette review, swatches and makeup look alongside my weekly manicure!

Every week lately, I have been teaming up with Jayne from Cosmetic Proof and Trysh from Prairie Beauty Love for our weekly manicures and this week's theme that was picked was "Inspired By Packaging"!

How fun was this inspiration?! I was immediately drawn to the colours and pattern of this Colourpop Element of Surprise palette! And, since I haven't reviewed this yet, I thought I would swatch and test out this palette as well!

I love the colours on the packaging I thought it was such a fun combo! This was a really busy pattern to recreate; but, it was basically just using a dotting tool and a straw!

For this week's Manicure I used:
-nail dotting tools (a few different sizes is helpful)
-a straw
-LA Colors Green nail art polish
-LVX polish in "Lolli"
-Trust Fund Beauty polish in "I'm Kind Of A Big Deal"
-Butter London polish in Ultra Violet

To recreate this palette pattern, I followed these steps:
1. Nail cleanser and base coat
2. 2 coats of purple base polish (let this dry well)
3. Using a large dotting tool and the light pink, create a cluster of dots
4. Then, with the same light pink and a small dotting tool, put some small dots around the edge of the large dot cluster
5. With the green polish, take a small dotting tool and create a line of dots around the outside of the light pink. (You could also use a straw to create the open circle (my green polish was too thin for this!)
6. Using the rosy pink polish, dip the end of a straw in to a little polish a dot it on the nail.
&. Then, using the same rosy polish and a medium dotting tool and create a few extra dots.
7. Let this dry well and then finish with top coat!

And, now on the inspiration behind the nails - the ColourPop Element of Suprise Pressed Powder Shadow Palette!

ColourPop Element of Surprise Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ~ $16.00 US. Get a load of this bold beauty. The perfect mix of edgy dramatic with a girly twist and bold pops of colour, this baby has you covered for the season. Our first palette with all four finishes: matte, metallic, satin, and duochrome, make it so easy to shake up the scene.

This palette is really pretty - it actually swatches and performs really well! This appears on the surface to be quite a neutral palette with a pop of bright pink. But, overall the majortity of the shadows have a pink feeling and I really like that this is just another typical neutral palette!

Feels ~ metallic soft opalescent pink
Late Night ~ metallic copper with gold duochrome
Silk Street ~ matte purple-fuchsia
Rayonmetallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome
Go With the Flow ~ matte true peach
Subdue ~ metallic lavender with blue-green duochrome
Opulent ~ metallic bright true fuchsia
Labyrinth ~ matte dusty pink
Blank Canvas ~ matte deep maroon
Sea Stars ~ matte medium yellow brown
Details ~ matte smoky burgundy sprinkled with hot pink glitter
Peace of Mind ~ metallic bright burgundy

This is a gorgeous palette! The mattes swatched okay; but, applied really nicely to the eyes and blended really well. The satins and metallics were super soft and smooth and were pigmented! The duochromes were pretty - a little chunky but were so gorgeous on the eyes!

Here is the eye look I created using the Element of Surprise palette! I used Go With The Flow as a base shadow, the I used Labyrinth and Sea Stars as a transition shadow in the crease. I have Rayon all over the lid, then Peace of Mind on the outer corner. I have Opulent on the lower lash line and Feels in the inner corner.

And here is a look at the whole look overall! I really like how pink this palette is overall - and the duochrome shadow on the lid is gorgeous!

Overall, I'm loving the eyeshadow look created with the ColourPop Element of Suprise Pressed Powder Eye Shadow Palette and I'm loving the nail look inspired by this palette too!
