Five on Friday - July 26, 2019

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've all had a great week! It's been a good week; but, we are getting ready for a family trip to the cabin in Fairmont!

Time for a check in on my Summer Project Pan! I decided to do a little project pan where I try to pan or use up 4 products in the 4 months of Summer (also, I'm a bit of an idiot and forgot in actually Summer lasts 3 months, but I was thinking literally in June, July, August, and September - so whoops, it too late to change now!) If you want to see the start of this project pan, you can see it here

So, I've made a little bit of progress on the Estee Lauder primer, and a fair bit of progress on the Lancome Juicy Shaker! But, I did not realize how hard it can be panning a powder product! Damn, I have been using this Essence blush and Too Faced bronzer almost daily, and I can certainly see some progress; but, I want to hit a pan soooooon!!!! Who knew this would be so hard?! Wish my luck within the next month!!!

TWO

This week I took my oldest son to see The Lion King! I couldn't wait to see this - The Lion King is one of my favourite Disney movies! And, the movie was AMAZING! It was so well done - I absolutely loved it! Uh - soooo good! And, Beyonce singing Can You Feel The Love Tonight was amazing. It was just good!!! I loved it.

THREE

Let's recap my July Monthly Makeup Basket and next week I will show my picks for my August Monthly Makeup Basket!

  • Illamasqua Beyond Powder Highlighter in Deity - This is a stunning highlighter! It can be really vivid, so I've been applying it to me cheekbones before my blush; but, it's a gorgeous shade!
  • Rodial Blusher in Copacabana - This is a carryover from July, because if I'm honest, I didn't use it all month. And it's a beautiful shade, but I rarely reach for it because it is really bright and I tend to use lighter blushes! I will try again this month because it deserves a fair chance!
  • Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rosé Glow - this is a beautiful highlighter, Becca rarely does wrong with a face product in my opinion and I love the pink of this one!
  • Burt's Bees Blush in Shy Pink - There is no better combination than this blush with the Becca highlighter! This is a gorgeous blush formula and a lovely shade!
  • Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Highlighter - this is a stunning gold highlighter and it's so perfect for every day wear - it's gorgeous!
FOUR

This month is just the smallest declutter for July! This month I'm passing on the ColourPop Element of Surprise. This is a really pretty palette - you can see swatches, thoughts and a makeup look + a nail art look inspired by this palette here! While this is pretty, using it for a week as a palette of the week it just doesn't do it for me - it is pretty mid-toned without too much variation and just doesn't suit me as it looks quite pink and mauve on me and it's just not a good look on me!

FIVE

How fun are these little toothpaste squeezers?! I've seen a few people using these in their project pans, but also a great little way to make sure you can get all of a product out that you love! And, I will totally use them for toothpaste too; but, I've already used them with this primer and a foundation!

I hope you all have a great weekend! As I mentioned, I will be at the family cabin in B.C. for the week, so I will be generally without internet so it will be quieter around here - I do have some posts lined up to keep the blog going while I'm away!
