Manicure Monday - Baby Shark Nail Art

Baby Shark, Do do doo do do do do, Baby Shark, Do do doo do do do do, Mama Shark! Okay, for those of you who don't have a toddler that you need to sing this song to every day - consider yourself lucky! Baby Shark is basically a daily song and dance in our house, so it makes sense that this year's Shark Week nails are Baby Shark themed nails!

Some polishes my have been received in PR - this post contains affiliate links

So, we are keeping the July #CBBxManiMonday theme of "glitter" going for this week, and I went with more of a shimmery/glittery base polish for my Shark nails!

But, if you want actually Glitter Shark nails, make sure you check out my Shark Week nails from last year because I did glitter sharks and they looked amazing!

Okay, so maybe I'm stretching the glitter theme this week - this base polish is Essence Out Of Space Stories polish in Mermaid of the Galaxy and it is described as sky blue teal shimmer, so not full on glittery; but, it's so pretty! If you want to see this and some of the Out Of Space Stories polishes swatched, you can check them out here

To create this manicure, I applied nail cleanser, base coat and two coats of the blue base polish. Then I created two sharks on accent nails: using the grey polish, I created a triangle shape on my nails. Then I created a half circle with a red polish for a mouth. Using the white nail art polish I outlined the shark shape, outlined the mouth shape and created little teeth. Plus using the nail dotting tool with the white polish I dotted on eyes, and followed up with the small dotting tool and black polish for pupils.

Then for the Baby Shark writing, I freehanded it with the white nail art polish - I just used the tip of the art polish brush with most of the polish removed and a really gentle hand! I also went over it twice, so the white was opaque. It might be a touch messy; but, I think it looks cute!
