March 2018 - Monthly Empties & Month in Masks!

Time to take a look at my beauty garbage! (This might be a loooong one - I feel like I went through a lot of products this month!)

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer ~ sample (full size is $16.00, $42.00 or $64.00 CAN). A professional balm that minimizes the appearance of pores.

This certainly isn't my favorite primer - I don't mind it, I just don't love it. I think if it's used only in targeted spots then it's good. I just like using it around my nose and pores on my cheeks but that's it - if I only use it there, then it's really good!
Repurchase: Nah, not likely

Too Faced Shadow Insurance ~ sample (full size is $24.00).

I think this eye shadow primer was decent - it wasn't my favorite. I think it works okay, but in one look I did find it a little stiff and hard to blend out my shadow on top of (it could be the nature of this sample though where it can't be resealed)

Repurchase: Mmm... maybe...

Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector in "Peach" ~ sample (full size is $36.00 CAN). A full-coverage color corrector that brightens and neutralizes under-eye discoloration and layers perfectly under concealer.

The peach shade is meant to "medium yellow peach; corrects brown/grey/greenish discoloratioin under the eyes". They actually have quite the range of peach and bisque. This was way too thick for me - that is one thing I have noticed with a lot of colour correctors, they are just too thick. It is hard to really smooth out and then layer another concealer over top of it. I think that's why I like the Hard Candy one so much is it's just light. I couldn't even finish this sample and I tried it 3 times, I just couldn't get down with the formula.
Repurchase: No

Stila CC Color Correcting Cream in Tan ~ sample.

I'm pretty sure this is discontinued - I don't want to admit how long I've had this sample in use for (yeeearrs...) let's just say that this was color correcting before it was trendy again. I actually really liked this, it went on green but rubbed in to my skin colour and worked so well to cover any redness.
Repurchase: I can't, but would have considered it

Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer ~ sample (full size is $20.00, $44.00, or $59.00 CAN). A translucent primer gel that smooths skin and blurs flaws.

This primer is okay - I mean I have gone through a few of these samples; but, I just don't think this is is my favorite primer. I love the Primer Oil from Smashbox - I will stick to that instead.
Repurchase: Not likely, I do have some samples still though...

Maybelline Lasting Drama by EyeStudio Gel Eyeliner in "Blackest Black" ~ $11.99. Smudge-proof and waterproof for 24 hours.

I have to say, I really liked this product (it made my favorites back in June 2016) and I used it a fair bit then. It was a real surprise as I'm pretty in to my liquid eyeliners; but, I really liked how this worked. I did sort of forget about over the past few months and it was pretty dried up now so I had to toss it.

Repurchase: Likely!

This was super soft and smooth on the lips and it smells delicious! It is very moisturizing and hydrating and it works really well! I was impressed!
Repurchase: Yes, I would consider it

Sephora Collection Teint Infusion Ethereal Natural Finish Foundation in "Cream" ~ $30.00. A beautiful, lightweight, moisturizing foundation with a natural, barely-there finish.

This was easily my favorite go-to foundation in 2016 and early 2017 - I loved this formula so much! But, early last year they started discontinuing it so I grabbed a couple of my shade while they were on sale. It was just really lightweight and natural looking on the skin. I did notice with this last bottle that it broke up on me a little more than my last few bottles. I have to move on now as this is my very last bottle.
Repurchase: Nooo... :(

Lip Smacker Lip Cafe Pumpkin Spice Latte Frappe Lip Balm ~ $3.95 US. Satisfy your ice blended coffee cravings any time with Lip CafĂ© Frappe lip balms!

I really liked this - it smells amazing! There was a few different in the frappe line - you can check out my thoughts on them here! This worked well and I liked them!
Repurchase: Sure would...

Bh Cosmetics Angled Blending Brush 104 ~ $9.99 for a set of 7 eye brushes.

This brush just broke and it wasn't super worth it to try and fix it. I bought these years ago; but, this isn't the first brush from Bh cosmetics to break on me. I don't mind the brushes but given that they don't last too long, I would suggest that there are other affordable brushes to get instead.
Repurchase: No

Handmade Wand Makeup Brush ~ $35.00 for a set of 3.

Ugh, I'm so mad about these because they are so cute! I bought these at a Harry Potter day event and I wish they were good but this brush is shedding like crazy! It's gotta go!
Repurchase: No

Bath Time Box Rose & Aloe Toner ~ $7.50.

Ok, this is an old time holy grail toner - this made my favorites in September 2015! It is from Bath Time Box and I repurchased this multiple times as my skin loved it. This was getting a little tingly on the skin at the end and started to smell, so it's done.

Repurchase: Maybe, I haven't seen skincare on Bath Time Store in a while.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist ~ sample.

I generally like rose mists; but, I didn't really like this one. I thought it was just alright; but, it didn't work great on my skin. I did see that it has been discontinued and I'm not surprised.
Repurchase: No

Secret Key Starting Treatment Aura Mist ~ $14.42 US. The mist keeps your skin moisturized throughout the day if you use it whenever your skin feels dry.

This wasn't a good mist either - I swear it made my skin textured or break out. This is actually a toss. I had to dump this. I will not use anything anymore that is not good for a skin.
Repurchase: No

Moor Spa Radiance Serum ~ $38.00. Reduces the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, sun spots and acne scars.

This was good when I tried it last year - it evened out my skintone and brightened my skin. But, I took a few months off and then went back to it and now it did not work at all. This started tingling on my face and I just didn't think it did anything for me this time around. Maybe I should have used it sooner - it's getting closer to the expiry? I'm not sure.
Repurchase: No

Dermalogica PreCleanse Balm - Balm-to-Oil Emulsifyer ~ $21.00 CAN for 15 ml or $62.00 CAN for 90ml. Deep-cleansing balm-to-oil melts away impurities and make-up from skin.

This is a balm-to-oil cleanser and I really like it - this is meant to be the first step in the double cleanse routine and it worked really well. This takes off every stitch of makeup and leaves my skin feeling good. You can either use this with your hands or with the cleansing mitt. My only problem with the cleansing mitt is because this is an oil, the makeup clings to the brush and is so hard to get out of it. So, I like the cleanser but not the mitt.

Repurchase: Likely!

London Premiere Cosmetic Pads ~ $2.00.

Sometimes you think it doesn't matter what cotton pads you use until you use incredibly crappy ones and it's awful - these are the ones that are terrible. So bad, I couldn't even use these to take off my makeup. I could only use them for removing my nail polish.
Repurchase: No

The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Tissue ~ $6.00 CAN. These practical cleansing wipes eliminate makeup residue and impurities. Enriched with a blend of 9 herbs known for their moisturizing properties, they allow you to cleanse your skin without irritation.

I really liked these - I got them in a surprise Christmas box. They made my favorites in January 2018. These are super saturated in product that they actually take off a whole face of makeup or a lot of swatches. These work well.
Repurchase: Yes, I will

WondeRuci Cacao Brightening Mask ~ 32,000 Won ( approx. $28.43 US or$35.87 CAN). The rich and creamy texture will instantly moisturize, brighten, and soften and skin, for your smoothest skin ever!

I love this mask so much - it smells freaking amazing! Honestly, it's just like slathering chocolate sauce all over your face that works to brighten your skin! Love this. But, I have had this since 2014 and I have used almost all of it up. I went to use this mask this month; but, it finally dried up on me, so I can't use it anymore! (You can see my past review here if you are interested).
Repurchase: Yes, when I get through my mask collection, I will!

Ice Water Eyes by ToGoSpa - The De-Puffer ~ $15.00 US for 3 sets. Cool, soothing relief that is especially good for headaches, allergies, hangovers, fatigue and bad attitudes.

These were okay - I think since they were past the expiry date, they had less essence than they normally would have. These were fine - my favorite ToGoSpa eyes are the Coconut ones!

Repurchase: Maybe

Glamglow Gravitymud Firming Treatment "Sonic Blue Collectible Edition" ~ $24.00 for 0.5 oz.

This mask is the regular Gravitymud formula; but, was in a bright blue peel off mask! You can see my past review here or check out lower in this post in my mask reviews and you will see it! The sonic version was limited edition.
Repurchase: The sonic version is gone, but maybe another kind..

Too Cool For School Fresh Gore Sleeping Pack ~ sample (full size is $13.39). This sleeping pack works its magic while you sleep.

I bought a little sample set of this sleeping pack a while ago. The samples are good for 2-3 uses and it's okay. Pretty good; but, not my favorite!
Repurchase: Not likely...

Bath Time Store Exfoliating Clay Mask ~ 2.5 oz. for $9.50.

I really enjoy Bath Time Store/Box skincare products - I did a review in the past on this mask and you can check out my thoughts here. I haven't seen a lot of skincare or new products on their website lately; but, I used to buy from them alllll the time. I also went to use this mask this month and it dried up (I did have it for 2 years and it was handmade so those tend not to last as long!)
Repurchase: Probably not

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin's Thirst ~ full size is $20.00 - $34.00 CAN. A luxurious nighttime mask to quench skin’s thirst.

This is a product that I have had for waaay to long. I do like the little pod style so it wasn't open for a long time or anything - these pods are good for 3-5 uses. This is a really thick night cream and I do like it in the winter. If you are looking for something super hydrating, then this would be good. Sometimes it was a little too thick for me.
Repurchase: Probably not

Bath and Body Works Lavender and Vanilla Body Wash and Foam Bath ~ travel size.

I think this is an older product - I don't even know where I got it. I found it when I was organizing all my skincare products and I love lavender for bubble baths. This smells really good and works well as a bubble bath. I liked it.
Repurchase: I don't think it's available anymore

Lush Twilight Shower Gel ~ sample.

I love the Lush shower gels and I loooove the Twilight scent - super lavender-y and so good to use before bed time. But, I can't find this on the website anymore? I hope it's not discontinued - that would be sad!
Repurchase: I would like to!

Lush Plum Rain Shower Gel ~ sample (full size is $11.95, $23.95 or $36.95 CAN).

I like the formula - this is a really thick body wash; but, this scent wasn't for me. This is described as a sweet, fruity wash which would appeal to me, but I just didn't think it was really fruity.
Repurchase: Not this scent..

Clarins Body Fit Anti-Cellulite Contouring Expert ~ sample (full size is $68.00 CAN). A quick-absorbing, cream-gel formula that helps reduce the look of cellulite, visibly lifting and firming hips and thighs.

This was interesting - these toning lotions are a little weird but do sometimes work. This one was super cooling - you put it on and instantly cold and slightly tingling; but, not in an uncomfortable way. It is also smelled like grapefruits. I only got 2 applications with this so I don't think that's enough to see results.
Repurchase: No

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+ ~ sample size 15ml for $2.84 (full size is 200ml for $37.84). Lipid-replenishing balm.

This was just a big fancy name for lotion? This was fine, I didn't notice anything special about it personally. It worked like a nice lotion.
Repurchase: Not likely

All Good Coconut Oil Skin Food ~ $14.99 for full size (sample size pictured here).

Okay, this was weird - it was a little chunky going on the skin and took a little work to smooth out on me. I didn't like it - I think I prefer regular lotion instead!
Repurchase: No

Decode Sensitive Skin Shaving Lotion ~ $9.99 for full size (sample size shown here).

This say it's for men; but, I just used it on my legs and it worked fine. It was a creamier texture than what I'm used to; but, I didn't mind. It just smelled so strong - why do men's products have to be so heavily scented?! I didn't like it.
Repurchase: Maybe if it came in unscented? I actually liked the formula

Bath Time Box/Store Refresh and Renew Bath Salts ~ $8.50. A glorious blend of spa grade salts, water softening powders and top grade essential oils.

I loved these when I first got them - they actually made my favorite products in October 2016. I used them lots and then got distracted by other products. I'm actively trying to use older products up because I hate letting things go to waste! These bath salts remind me of the scent of a spa - they smell so relaxing and smelled amazing. Really soothing to use.
Repurchase: Yes, if they were available again I would!

Mitchell and Peach English Leaf Body Cream ~ sample size 30 ml for £6 (approx. $12.17 CAN), full size is 180 ml for £36.

I have so much lotion, it's not even funny. I would have very soft skin in the case of any emergency that I needed to take up shelter in my beauty room. I received this in a past Ipsy bag. It was fine - too strongly floral scented for me.
Repurchase: No

Bath and Body Works Golden Pineapple Luau Deep Cleansing Hand Soap ~ $6.50.

Of course no one actually spends full price on these soaps - they are always on some form of sale. I normally like Pineapple scents; but, I found this one really lingered on the skin and it turned weird after a while.
Repurchase: Not this scent

I received these in Boxycharm and I really wanted to like them. First, they smell amazing! I wish all shampoo and conditioner smelled like this; but, these just didn't really work for me. I have really fine, thin hair and I would wash my hair at night with this and my hair would look greasy in the morning. I think the conditioner was fine; but, I wouldn't really buy one without the other.
Repurchase: No

TRESemme Extra Firm Control Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray ~ $2.50 CAN.

I'm always impressed with how long these travel size hair sprays last for - I always just use a little on my bangs to keep them in place. I'm not super picky about hairspray as long as they are aerosol - the other ones don't work for me.
Repurchase: Probably

Lush Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb ~ $?.

How pretty is this one?! The second picture shows it ends up looking like a for real glittery night sky in the bath! I loved it!
Repurchase: If I see it again (it was limited edition)

Lush Bunch Of Carrots Bubble Bar ~ $12.95 for a set of 3.

I loved this little set of bubble bars - each one was the perfect size for 1 bath and easier than breaking up the bubble bar yourself to make it in to 3 pieces. This turned in to a very pink, bubbly bath - just what I like!
Repurchase: Yes, probably next Easter

Small Batch Soaps Mermaid - Doughnut Bath Bomb ~ $6.25. They're drizzled with super-moisturizing cocoa butter, that will melt away in warm water and leave your skin feeling great!

How cute is this bath bomb?! I love the little mermaid tail soap piece that's on top of it too. It smelled good and worked well.
Repurchase: Maybe!

Lush Twilight Bath Bomb ~ $6.95 CAN. Relaxing lavender oil and comforting tonka absolute soothe stressed bodies and minds, leaving you feeling warm, fuzzy and ready for a restful slumber.

So, I stumbled upon a huge stash of older Lush bath bombs that I had completely forgotten about so I need to get through them! This one still smelled amazing! So yummy! But, this is years old and didn't fizz super great for me; but, I'm sure it's great when it's fresh!
Repurchase: Yes, twilight is the best scent for a pre-bed bath!

Lush Sex Bomb Bath Bomb ~ $7.95 CAN. Scintillating jasmine, clary sage and ylang ylang are powerful aphrodisiacs, and soy milk softens up your entire body.

This is a classic Lush bath bomb - again, this was in my hidden bath bomb stash! I liked this one, no complaints.
Repurchase: Ya, possibly!

So, in March I used up 42 products! Boom! I guess a couple were tosses; but, honestly when I consistently use them until I can't anymore I consider them an empty instead of a declutter! I'm impressed with how much I used up -  I am trying to use products up before I start new ones so I think i'm getting through a lot before they go bad!

And, now here is a look at my Mask Empties/Month in Masks for March:

Burt's Bees Hydrating Face Sheet Mask ~ $3.91 CAN ($2.99 US).

Okay, I will keep my thoughts on the Burt's Bees masks here short and sweet - I did a full detailed post on all 4 masks here if you are interested in any of them I touch on here! The hydrating mask is terrible - ones of the worst masks I have ever used.
Repurchase: Never

Ice Water Eyes by ToGoSpa - The De-Puffer
~ $15.00 US for 3 sets. Cool, soothing relief that is especially good for headaches, allergies, hangovers, fatigue and bad attitudes.

I found these eye masks as part of my purge - they expired about mid-2017 so I have no problem using them; but, they hardly have any essence left in them so they didn't last too long. I generally really like ToGoSpa eye masks and haven't had that problem before. They didn't work as good as they should!
Repurchase: Maybe, I do like some of the other ToGoSpa eye types more!

Skylake Face Mask - Brightening Care ~ $3.00. This mask promotes healthy, hydrated skin without the use of parabens and other artificial additives.

I really like this mask - it lasts quite a while and makes my skin feel really clean and refreshed after using. It does smell quite herbal, though so be pre-warned. It comes in 2 pieces and you apply a chin strap after the mask. Most masks don't pay attention to the neck so I like that this one does.
The material is a little thicker than I normally prefer, but I don't mind it on this mask.
Repurchase: Likely...

Make P:rem Soothing Layering Double Mask ~ $7.00 US. A totally new innovation in masking, the Soothing Layering Double mask combines two mask-sheet technologies and an ergonomically designed mask to make skin noticeably smoother and calm.

I was really excited to try this mask - you can see a full, detailed reviewed I did here if you are interested! This comes in 2 full mask pieces and you layer them on top of each other - the 2 second layer really secures the masks and I wore this for 1 hour - it had so much essence and felt so good on the skin. I loved what this did for my skin!
Repurchase: Yes, I do wish Canada still had Target...

Skoah AHA Mask ~ sample $6.00 (full size is $38.00). A tingling peppermint infused mask to loosen and lift dead, tired skin.

Skoah Klearity Mask ~ sample $6.00 (full size is $48.00). This mask helps provide 'klearity', err clarity. Great for blemished, oily, and acne-prone skin.

These are a pretty familiar repeat - I do this combo of masks once a month on my skin! I always mix these 2 masks together - wear for 15 minutes and then rinse off. I love the aha because it is tingly and pepperminty and the klearity works well for my blemishes! My skin looked so good the next day - it was bright and clear. I love this combination.
Repurchase: Yes to both of them!

Burt's Bees Purifying Face Sheet Mask ~ $3.91 CAN ($2.99 US). These masks are infused with kiwi extracts and a unique blend of natural ingredients to remove makeup, gently cleanse away pore-clogging dirt and oil while nourishing your skin.

This mask was fine - my full thoughts are on my Burt's Bees post. This is quick - you only wear it for 2 minutes! It was fine - my skin felt clean and refreshed. But it wasn't amazing by any means.
Repurchase: No

Burt's Bees Lip Treatment Lip Mask ~ $3.91 CAN ($2.99 US). The single use lip mask moisturizes and hydrates instantly and defines your lips with a blend of natural ingredients including Meadowfoam Seed and Almond Oils.

This was by far my favorite Burt's Bees mask - it was super hydrating and softening on my lips! I really enjoyed this - as soon as I see more any more, I will be grabbing a couple of them! There are really good!
Repurchase: Yes

Burt's Bees Rejuvenating Eye Masks ~ $3.91 CAN ($2.99 US). Consisting of a unique blend of of powerful oils and extracts, it targets the delicate eye area, reinvigorating tired eyes and leaving behind skin feeling nourished smooth and supple.

These were pretty good as well - they felt good under the eyes and had lots of essence. My only complaint was that the essence left an oily feeling on the skin. I didn't mind this; but, just a thought to only use these at nighttime and not before getting ready in the morning.
Repurchase: Maybe

The Face Shop Sparkling Apple Mask ~ $3.00 CAN. Brightening and Lifting effect. Offers deep hydration and nutrients to your skin.

This was an old mask - I just needed to use it up. The fit was really big and it was hard to wear. Nothing special to me.
Repurchase: Nope

Glamglow Gravitymud Firming Treatment "Sonic Blue Collectible Edition" ~ $24.00 for 0.5 oz.

Same as above!
Repurchase: The sonic version is gone, but maybe another kind..

South Mane Beauty - Revitalizing Under Eye Gels ~ pack of 3 for $9.00 US. They soften and moisturize to ensure that you look rested and refreshed!

These eye masks were fine - I just received them in Boxycharm. I wore these for 45 minutes and they were good. They adhered well and brightened my under eye.
Repurchase: Mmmm... I have 2 more sets to use first..

Beauty Clinic - Mediheal Dress Code "Blue" Mask ~ $3.00.

I love this mask - it has made my monthly favorites in March of last year - it is super hydrating and soothing on the skin! Always a go-to if my skin needs a refresh!

Repurchase: Yes!

So in addition to 42 products I used up, I used 13 masks as well this month! Thanks for sticking to the end if you made it this far - that was a lot of products!
