Five on Friday - March 30, 2018

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you've all have had a great week! Ours was good - pretty typical week! I'm consciously trying to saviour every day at home - I'm back to work in under 4 weeks now and I'm feeling a little sad about it. It's just so hard to think about working again. At least Damian just started Spring break today, so I'm looking forward to really enjoying next week with both boys!

ONE

Happy Easter weekend! How cute are Elliott and his bestie Bennett?! We are so lucky to have these 2 born only 1 day apart - they can do everything together! We took the boys to the Calgary Farmer's Market so they could meet the Easter Bunny - what a good way to start the Easter weekend?

Do you guys have big Easter plans? We are taking it pretty easy this weekend - my husband works all weekend so we don't have much planned. We will see family and have an egg hunt for sure!

TWO

This past weekend, Mitch and I actually went out together and went to Grape Escape! This is such a fun night out - we went with family and friends and all had such a great time together! I actually was pretty reasonable and didn't drink everything in sight so I felt pretty good the following day after a night of drinking!

THREE

Mmmm... after our night of wine drinking, we pre-planned for breakfast the following morning! This is a crockpot overnight breakfast - so you throw it together at night and put it on low overnight! So good.

You just layer tater tots, chopped onion, chopped bacon, shredded cheddar cheese a couple of times, then mix eggs, milk and a touch of flour and pour it over top. I literally ate this for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Great if you have lots of people to feed too!

FOUR

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was going to share small declutters as they come - these are my February and March declutters! I'm trying to be better about getting rid of products if they don't work for me and with smaller amounts of items, I can explain why!

In February, I passed on the RealHer Blush kit - this was fine and I didn't mind the blushes, but I never reached for it and have lots of blushes so I passed it on to someone who would actually use it! I also got rid of this Essence Pure Nude foundation - I bought this a long time ago on a U.S. trip and didn't get the right shade, so it was hard to test if I liked the formula or not. Now it's just getting old. And, I also passed on the Hard Candy Metal Eyes palette - I didn't mind it when I used it, they are pretty shadows; but, the packaging is just so bulking so I never reach for it.

In March, the first thing I'm decluttering is the Dose of Colors Sassy Siennas palette. I just got this and was going to review it; but, the shadows were super powdery (I mean really powdery - I don't mind some kick up and fall out and this was too much for me). On top of that, I really do have these shades and this palette didn't go light enough for me. I just won't ever reach for this - there is no highlight or lid shade that I like. I'm finally throwing out the Benefit Gimme Brow that got recalled - I was going to keep it and use it; but, I read somewhere that there was actually a really worrisome chemical or bacteria that was found in some batches and Benefit tried to downplay it? I don't know the full story and don't really want to risk it. This hasn't been used and will just be tossed. And, I'm passing on this travel size Smashbox Photo Finish Primer - I have a couple smaller samples of this, plus tons of primers to use and I just won't get to this!

FIVE

Oooh, I'm so excited! Today season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events is starting! I loved season 1 - it stays so true to the books and is really well done! I will be watching season 2 this weekend!
