Monthly Beauty and Book Haul - January 2023

Last year I set a monthly beauty and books budget at $200 per month and I really stuck to it! I am trying to be thoughtful in my purchases, so this has been holding me accountable for being reasonable with my spending. Since it worked so well last year, I'm really trying to do the same thing this year! 

I do always love my Monthly Haul posts - it's a good way to keep track of everything that I picked up each month. I don't always blog about everything I pick up (I try to), but if you ever spot anything in here that you really want me to talk about, let me know!

Sephora Order ~ $126.00 CAN. I was really excited for some of these newer products at Sephora (especially that Rare Beauty highlighter!) - I did a full unboxing and first impressions of the products! First impressions of everything was good and the Rare Beauty Positive Light made my Monthly Favourites for January! So, good first haul of the year! 

Shoppers Drug Mart Finds ~ $5.65 CAN. I did a little in person shopping earlier this month and picked up a few new to me products - the concealer and quo lip stain. I will post a review soon, because I have some thoughts on them! The Pixi set was 50% off so this set was only $12! (Also, I always save my PC Optimum points for my Shoppers hauls so I only have to spend a small amount! 

Indigo Preorder ~ $18.74 CAN. If you saw my Monthly Reading Wrap-up, you know I loved this book! It just came out at the end of the month in paperback, so I ordered in on preorder when they were having a little sale last year! It's a lovely book and I'm going to have a full review soon! 

Shoppers Orders #2 ~ $0.00 CAN. I needed to stock up on some essentials - nothing crazy here. Dry Shampoo from Kristen Ess and Klorane - both brands that I've used and liked before. I also needed some new mascara (this is a solid favourite of mine - the Lash Paradise) and thought I'd pick up the mascara primer to give it a try too! 

Chapters Sale Find ~ $10.80 CAN. I love following Gaz Oakley - he comes up with really great plant based recipes (often more involved and longer, but price pay off is totally worth it!) So, when I was cruising and saw his original book on sale for $10, I couldn't resist! You can already seen how many recipes I've tabbed, so I will be getting some good use out of this! 

Book Auction Wins ~ $6.50 CAN. I won a couple of books on auction this month - they are both graphic novels and I'm thinking getting one a month in this year is a good goal. They are good ways to break up heavy books and have a quick read! 

February Lush Kitchen Box ~ $58.75 CAN. I really wanted to get the February Box - some of the best products from Lush come out for Valentine's Day. It should arrive right away so I can't wait to unbox it! 

So for the month of January, I spent $226.44 CAN on Books and Beauty - only a pinch over my limit and I'm good with that!
