Five on Friday - October 7, 2022 ~ Edmonton Trip - Raptor's Game and Little Ray's, A Month of Vegetarian Meals, Shopping Finds and New TV Shows and Movies (Hocus Pocus 2, Andor)

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a great week - it's been a little crazy getting home from Edmonton late on Sunday night and we are heading out to the cabin again this evening for the weekend!

ONE

Everything shown was purchased by me

We had an amazing weekend in Edmonton - we surprised the boys with tickets to the Raptors game and it was amazing! I've never seen live NBA before and it was so great - the game was exciting and dynamic. The boys all enjoyed the game as well! We spent the day before at the waterpark and stayed in the Space room at the Galaxyland Hotel.

TWO

One of the unexpected highlights of the weekend was finding this spot Little Ray's - it's a rescue centre with animals in the mall. They put on presentations and bring out a few animals to see and touch. Also they do a sloth feeding and it's super cool - we all loved it! Sloths are weird and amazing!

I haven't talked a ton about it since going vegetarian at the start of the year, but I thought I'd share more of the veggies meals that I've been trying out and loving. I'm not preachy about going vegetarian, but I do think everyone should reduce their meat consumption, so even if one day a week you want to do meatless Monday, hoping you will find some good suggestions!

Here's some of my favourite veggie meals from September:
-Souvlaki Jackfruit with Greek Grain Salad
-Veggie Quesadillas
-Tortilla Soup with Rice and Black Beans
-Eggs on Toast
-Homemade Pizza with Sundried Tomatoes, Olives and Pineapple
-Peach Salsa and Nacho Chips
-Beyond Meat Crunch Wrap Supreme
-Curried Chickpeas
-Breakfast Bowls with Guacamole
-Satay Tofu Wraps
-Miso Mushroom Pasta (I used this recipe from Marion's Kitchen)
-Wraps with Sweet Potato Bites and Veggie Bacon
-Burgers and Caesar Salad (I used Very Good Butcher's Burgers)
-Creamy Zucchini and Chickpeas (I used this recipe from Eat Something Vegan and added Chickpeas)
-Fries Supreme with Taco Jackfruit
-Tortellini and Red Pasta Sauce
-Falafel Wraps with Greek Salad
-Vegetarian Chili
-French Toast with Syrup and Peanut Butter

FOUR

I'm part of an online group that does shopping buys and I picked up a few cute items - I love these tie dye shorts and how cute is this Disney inspired Mean Girls shirt?! I love them!

FIVE

Alright, I'm behind on talking about new TV and movies out now! Of course, I was most excited for Hocus Pocus 2 and I really enjoyed it! Plus, we've been watching Andor, Survivor started as well as Bachelor in Paradise, and Halloween Baking Championship that I've been watching. I also watched the Bling Ring and Halloween Cookie Challenge.

I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy some family time for Thanksgiving!
