I picked up quite a few older products so I could familiarize myself with a range of their products - I couldn't do a blog post on everything individually, so instead I just want to share swatches and some initial thoughts in case you're considering picking up some of these products!
ELF Cosmetics Flawless Face Powder in Light Beige ~ $4.00 CAN. Create a perfect finish with our silky Flawless Face Powder that blends evenly into skin. Treat and prevent skin imperfections with key active ingredients formulated for problematic skin. Proven skin clarifiers absorb oil on contact to create a beautiful matte finish. Wear alone or with your other favorite e.l.f. Face products for naturally smooth and flawless looking skin.
This was only $1.60 on sale and I didn't realize that it was discontinued - it was a decent formula, but Light Beige was quite deep and this just didn't work for me. Unfortunately, the shade descriptions didn't work with this range - hopefully their new formulas are better in this department.
ELF Cosmetics Hydrating Camo Concealer in Light Sand ~ $8.00 CAN. A long-lasting liquid concealer that provides crease-proof full coverage while hydrating your skin.
This is described as a full coverage, hydrating liquid concealer - I am always excited to try something like that. What I like is that there is a big shade range and Light Sand in described as light with neutral undertones and it's the perfect shade for me. The formula is good - I think it applies really nicely (a little bit goes a long way) and it blends out nicely with a sponge and wears well. So far, so good with this formula but best applied sparingly so it doesn't look heavy!
ELF Cosmetics Primer Infused Bronzer in Forever Sunkissed ~ $8.00 CAN. This long-wear, matte bronzer is infused with lock on primer powder to ensure a full day of bronzed, sun-kissed glow. This bronzer is smooth and easy to apply, while adhering to the skin for long-lasting wear.
I haven't tried an ELF Bronzer before and I've heard good things about this formula. I love this shade and the formula blends in really nicely and wears well. It goes on lightly, which I like - I prefer to build than have a super heavy bronzer application. I'm not super picky about bronzers as long as they aren't patchy, and this one is nice and smooth going on!
-The Flawless Face Powder in Light Beige (again, much darker than anticipated - it's closer to the bronzer shade on me!)
-The Hydrating Camo Concealer in Light Sand (nice thick formula and great, brightening shade match)
-The Primer Infused Bronzer in Forever Sunkissed (nice light swatch, and perfect bronzer shade for my skintone with an easy application)
ELF Cosmetics Bite-Size Face Duo in Watermelon and Cantaloupe ~ $4.00 CAN. Lightly pigmented blush-and-highlighter duos to enhance your natural glow on the go.
I've raved about the Bite-Size Duos before - other shades have made my previous favourites, and the Watermelon duo made my Favourites in the Summer, I love it! The Watermelon dup has a gorgeous rosy blush and a stunning peach-shimmery highlighter that almost has a duo-chrome finish. The Cantaloupe duo is a mustardy yellow blush and a champagne highlighter - the highlighter is bold, and the cantaloupe blush is fab! It is a great blush topper or on it's own!
Here is a look at the Bite Size Duo in Watermelon swatched on top and the Cantaloupe swatched below - these duos continue to wow me! I love them!
ELF Cosmetics Monochromatic Multi-Stick in Glimmering Guava and Bronzed Cherry ~ $6.00 CAN. A cream-to-powder, wear-everywhere blush stick stick that delivers a highly blendable kiss of color to eyes, lips and cheeks.
Okay, I was excited to try these multisticks - I'm always excited to try products that have multiple uses. I have been getting in to cream products more lately, so this seems to be a good way to try these out! I was a little disappointed in this formula - I found these blended out almost too much and left a light tint, but was a little patchy and glimmery and I didn't think either of them wore well. It's not a formula that I would pick up again - highly recommend the putty blush formula instead!
Here is a look at the Monochromatic Multi-Stick swatched in Glimmering Guava - it is swatched from the bullet on top and then blended out below. Underneath, Bronzed Cherry is swatched and then blended out below as well. Again, you can see they don't blend out well.
ELF Cosmetics Tinted Lip Oil in Coral Kiss ~ $8.00 CAN. This Tinted Lip Oil adds a beautiful sheer shine to your lips. Each shade is infused with Jojoba, Apricot, and Vitamin E to nourish and hydrate your lips with each application.
Okay, I've been so obsessed with trying allll the lip oil formulas - I think this one is more tinted than some of the other formulas I've tried. But, it's not a sticky formula, and it is a nice oil and wears well. I like the formula and it is something I would pick up in another shade!
ELF Cosmetics Putty Blush in Tahiti ~ $8.00 CAN. A velvety, lightweight putty blush that melts into your skin.
The ELF Putty blush is my favourite cream formula - it's a great price and the original formula is just so great. I picked up that shade Tahiti, that's a bit of a rose-raspberry shade and it's gorgeous. I would love to pick up more from this range!
ELF Cosmetics Mint Melt No Budge Eyeshadow Stick ~ $7.00 CAN. A one-swipe cream eyeshadow stick that delivers minty, matte and metallic colors that are long-wearing and crease resistant.
I love cream shadow formulas as well - it's the perfect way to add a shimmery touch to the lid and is perfect. But, unfortunately, it's a not a shimmer formula so it wasn't what I was expecting. This was a thin pencil to be a good matte shadow formula - it applied to stiffly and didn't smudge out well. More of an eyeliner, but just not what I was expecting.
-The Tinted Lip Oil in Coral Kiss (quite a tinted formula for a lip oil - but a nice smooth formula)
-The Putty Blush in Tahiti (gorgeous raspberry rose shade and a fantastic formula)
-The Mint Melt No Budge Eyeshadow Stick (too matte and too stiff of a formula for a cream shadow)
So, that's a little round-up of all the older, ELF Cosmetics I picked up during a big sale. There were some hits and some misses, but I'm happy to have tried more from them and get out my thoughts on more of their products! I will always have my eye out on this brand because I still think they are a great, affordable brand!
