July 2018 - Monthly Empties

It's late in August to talk about July - whoops! Time to dig in to my beauty garbage!

Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ ~ $14.00 CAN for travel size (full size is $30.00 CAN). A lightweight water mist that gently soothes and refreshes skin and finishes makeup.

I love Fix+! This little mini is so good because I always have one in my purse to refresh my makeup during the day - this is one of the best sprays to make me look non-powdery and cakey!
Repurchase: Yes!

BeautyBlender - The Original BeautyBlender ~ $26.00 CAN. An edgeless, non-disposable, high-definition cosmetic sponge applicator.

I am a ride-or-die BeautyBlender lover - personally, I have tried a few other sponges and they just don't compare to this one. I have been using this sponge for way too long and it was getting really old.
Repurchase: Already have!

Butter London Double Decker Lashes Mascara ~ $28.00 CAN. Get 200% thicker lashes in just one coat and a 314% increase in lash curl.

I received this mascara in a past Boxycharm and you can see how it looks on my lashes here. It did make my lashes look good; but, it started flaking on me after a couple of months of use and I don't like when that happens.
Repurchase: Noooo...

Hawaiian Bath & Body - Hawaiian Mango Natural Lip Balm ~ $3.50 US. Our Hawaiian Mango lip balm is dripping with flavor as it helps soothe your lips from the elements.

This was too soft of a lip balm formula and it crumbled and fell apart. I had to stop using this.
Repurchase: No!

Arbonne It’s A Long Story Mascara ~ full size $39.00 (sample size shown here).

This was a basic lengthening mascara - and this was a one time use sample. It did add length but I found it to be clumpy as well. Not worth $39.00.
Repurchase: No

Real Techniques Dual Ended Expert Sponge ~ $10.49. Full Coverage Foundation + Contour. This dual-ended expert sponge is designed for medium to heavy application coverage.

I thought this sponge was just too hard and it didn't soften up at all, so it didn't apply my foundation well at all. Plus, that bite is a baby bite, not an animal...
Repurchase: No...

The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam ~ $15.00 CAN. This gently cleansing foam offers your skin a clear and even complexion.

This was a fine cleansing foam; but, I find this formula stings my eyes a little bit. I don't use this around my eyes often but if I'm being picky (which I can be because I use a lot of cleansers..) so I just don't like that.
Repurchase: Not likely

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloth ~ $10.49 CAN for 25. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths remove dirt, sweat, surface oils and makeup without drying or irritating the skin.

This was okay - it smelled really weird though. It did work fine in a pinch on holidays.
Repurchase: Probably not

Vichy Mineral 89 Fortifying Daily Skin Booster ~ sample shown (full size is $39.95 CAN.) Give your skin a daily boost of strength.

This is AMAZING! This is just a little sample; but, I am already on my second full size bottle of this booster. You can see my thoughts here; it also made my Monthly Favorites in August last year and it also made my 2017 Yearly Skincare Favorites! This has just done wonders for my skin - I think it has totally improved my skin's strength, hydration, and appearance. It is just amazing.
Repurchase: Yes, when I use my full size!

Skoah AHA Mask ~ sample $6.00 (full size is $38.00 CAN). A tingling peppermint infused mask to loosen and lift dead, tired skin.

Skoah Klearity Mask ~ sample $6.00 (full size is $48.00 CAN). Great for blemished, oily, and acne-prone skin.

I always mix these 2 masks together - wear for 15 minutes and then rinse off. I love the aha because it is tingly and pepperminty and the klearity works well for my blemishes! My skin looked so good the next day - it was bright and clear. I love this combination.
Repurchase: Yes, likely both again in sample size as I use them about once per month!

TonyMoly Pocket Bunny Mist in "Moist Mist" ~ $13.46 CAN. Refreshing facial mist contains the added benefit of balancing skin's oil and water content, leaving skin moist and supple with a lovely dewy finish.

How stinkin cute is this mist?! Yes it's an adorable little bunny - I was surprised how quickly this was used up though! I think less than a month and this mist was gone and that's too quick for me! This mist itself was fine. I didn't find it did anything extra special for my skin.
Repurchase: No

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution ~ $19.90 CAN for 500 ml. The cleansing and make-up removing water in Canada that respects the fragility of sensitive skin.

I love this product so much and have actually featured it on my Monthly Favorites twice! Most recently in May 2017! I have said this multiple times about this product - holy grail makeup remover! Nothing else compares! Also, works great as a gentle full face cleanser in the mornings - it's so gentle on my skin! Love this so much!
Repurchase: Yes, I always have backups on hand!

CosRX - Acne Pimple Master Patch ~ $5.00 CAN. You can use these patches on existing pimples - helping them go down in size by sucking out the gunk from the pimple and almost diminishing them completely, or on pimples that you picked and/or popped.

These are hands down sooo good! These made my favorite products in September 2015 and I have continued to repurchase these multiple times! These are great to use on pimples that are building under the surface or that have surfaced that you don't want to pop! These clear up pimples quickly and work so well.
Repurchase: Yes! I haven't yet, but plan to right away.

Peter Thomas Roth Oilless Oil 100% Purified Squalane ~ sample ($38.00 US for full size). Oilless Oil™ 100% Purified Squalane is for anyone looking for all the benefits of an oil without leaving an oily or greasy after-feel.

This sample was fine - it lasted while I was in vacation and it was fine on my skin. I thought that I needed a lot of this to really feel like it worked on my skin. It was just okay.
Repurchase: Not likely

Diamond Wipes Gentle Cleansing Makeup Remover Wipes ~ $?.

This was from a hotel while on vacation - it didn't really work amazing at removing eye makeup. So it didn't do much for me.
Repurchase: No

Lush Sultana of Soap ~ sample shown ($6.95 CAN for 100g). It looks like a fancy Italian dessert, a giant nougat cake topped with succulent currants and apricots, but this decadent soap was made to create a creamy lather with a light and fruity bergamot-olibanum scent.

I loved this soap - it was super soft and nourishing on the skin. Really gentle smelling as well.
Repurchase: Likely!

Amika Nourishing Hair Mask ~ sample (full size is $15.00 - $36.00 CAN). A daily or weekly luxurious, deep conditioning treatment that completely restores and repairs dry, damaged hair.

This was fine - I'm not really sure that I feel like hair masks really do much. This was pretty comparable to a regular conditioner... nothing super exciting.
Repurchase: No

Lila Grace Coconut Lime Body Lotion ~ $?.

This came in a past Topbox and it was fine - decent body lotion. The scent was okay; but, this weirdly doesn't really look available anywhere.
Repurchase: Probably not

Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream ~ $11.47 CAN. This patented Triple Oat formula soothes and moisturizes to help care for your baby’s delicate skin with eczema.

This worked really well on Elliott's super dry skin all Winter and Spring! It was comfortable on my skin as well and I would recommend this for babies with eczema or really dry skin!
Repurchase: Yes

Clean Apothecary Brush Shampoo in "Rose"
~ $15.00 US. Cut cleaning time in half with this natural, conditioning brush shampoo.

I feel like I used this brush shampoo really fast - lately I have been saving my brushes to do a big wash; but, this only lasted 3 or 4 big brush washes and that seems crazy... It worked fine though.
Repurchase: No

Exact Lens Care System ~ $15.99 CAN for 2 systems and 2 cases. 3.3% hydrogen peroxide cleaning and disinfecting solution.

I know this is just contact solution so it doesn't seem very special; but, I recently switched from regular contact solution to the hydrogen peroxide solution and have found a big improvement in my contacts! They are cleaner and last longer! This even made my favorites in June
Repurchase: Yes!

Joe Fresh Cotton Pads ~ $2.00 CAN.

I always say that these are just good; but, once you use a really crappy cotton pad, you realize that these ones are actually really good! Really good! These ones work well for my face and nails, so they are good!
Repurchase: Yes

Joe Fresh Nail Polish Remover ~ $4.20 CAN.

This is fine - Joe Fresh used to have a different shaped bottle that was better - only had a small hole at the top that was way easier to dispense product from. But, this still did the trick. I do like this formula better than most others I have tried.
Repurchase: Yes

Exact Antiseptic Mouthwash ~ $2.00 CAN.

I'm picky about mouthwash and this wasn't good - it didn't taste good at all. I could hardly use it.
Repurchase: Nooo

Lush Elsie The Giraffe (You're Havin' A Bath) Reusable Bubble Bar ~ $9.95 CAN. Enjoy the freshest baths with this adorable triple citrus reusable bubble bar.

This lasted a couple of baths - I like that this is on a stick and you just run it under the tap until you have enough bubbles. So you don't have to break anything and crumble it. This lasted 3 big bubble baths for me and I loved the bright, citrus scent!
Repurchase: Yes, if it comes back - it was limited edition for a past Mother's Day

Sweet As Candy Key Lime Cake Soap ~ $7.00 CAN.

Cuuute - this is from a local Calgary company that I picked up a few goodies from. This soap smelled good before I used it; but, once it was in use the scent disappeared rather quickly. Also, this was gone in a about a month and I find some homemade soaps do this. It was fine.
Repurchase: Maybe

So, in July I used up 27 products, which is pretty great! I thought there was a good mix of products too!

Skoah AHA Mask ~ sample $6.00 (full size is $38.00 CAN). A tingling peppermint infused mask to loosen and lift dead, tired skin.

There was just a little of this mask left and I prefer to use it with the Klearity mask when my skin is breaking out a little bit. This is slightly tingly and pepperminty and works to bright and clear skin!
Repurchase: Yes

Lovemore Pearl & Red Barley Whitening Mask ~ $2.80 CAN. This brightening Lovemore sheet mask is enriched with Red Pearl Barley extract and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and revitalize the skin for a clearer and brighter complexion.

I love these Lovemore masks - they are a super soft silk material and adhere well and feel amazing on the skin. This one lasted about 20 minutes and my skin looked great after!
Repurchase: Yes

Purlisse Blue Lotus + Seaweed Treatment Sheet Mask ~ $8.00 US.  This power blend fights soothes & nourishes while White Mulberry brightens and Anise fruit provides continuous moisture, leaving skin healthy, beautiful and radiant.

This mask was fine - it's a little thicker than I prefer and I like a few more tabs to help it fit my face a little better. This had a good amount of essence and lasted 30 minutes. Also, it was very heavily purfume scented and I can do a little scent but not too much! My skin looked good after - it was fine; but, not worth the $8 price tag.
Repurchase: Nah..

illi - Ceramide Intensive Moisture Mask ~ $8.02 CAN. Makes dry skin moist and healthy and soothes stressed skin.

I like illi masks and this one was good - it fit a little big. It smells like medicinal; but, it worked pretty well!
Repurchase: Maybe!

Glamglow Instamud 60 Second Pore-Refining Treatment ~ $53.00 CAN for full size (this is a sample size shown). A mask that refines pores and evens skin tone, leaving skin smooth and soft in as little as 60 seconds.

This is a one-minute bubbling mask - I used it on targeted areas to refine pores. I love that this bubbled up and felt really invigorating. My skin felt clear and felt really good after using this!
Repurchase: Maybe, I will keep using this and see!

The Face Shop Real Nature Goji Berry Face Mask ~ $3.00 CAN. The mask sheet drenched with emulsified moisturizing serum with ultra nourishing Goji Berry gives flaky, dehydrated skin a surge of moisture.

This is fine - these sheet masks from the Face Shop are so easy to stock up on. This one fits pretty big; but, they come with lots of essence and work well! This was hydrating on the skin and it worked!
Repurchase: Most likely

The Face Shop The Solution Moisturizing Face Mask ~ $3.00 CAN. The serum containing Ceramides provides  a moisturizing solution to dry, rough skin.

I like the material of the this mask better than the Real Nature masks - it is a little thinner and still has a lot of essence, so it lasted about 45 minutes on the face. It was really moisturizing and made my skin feel nice and soft.
Repurchase: Likely!

In addition to my empties, I also used up 7 masks, which is waaaay less than I normally use - my masking has really slipped in the last couple of months! I used to mask almost every night! I need to get back in to that!
