Mask Wednesday - ToGoSpa Bamboo Charcoal FACE Collagen Gel Mask Review

Happy Mask Wednesday everyone! And, today is November 1 which is the first day of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) and I have joined along with a few other CBBers to challenge ourselves to post every day for the month of November! So if it seems like i'm posting excessive content; that's why! (I'm kidding - I want all the posts to be good quality!)

I have talked about ToGoSpa a fair bit on here - their EYES gels are my favorite eye masks and the brand has continued to expand their mask range to include LIPS, FACE and NECK. I recently won a giveaway and was excited to try a FACE mask from the brand and see if they are as great as the eye gels!

ToGoSpa Bamboo Charcoal FACE Collagen Gel Masks ~ $25.00 for 3 masks. Bamboo Charcoal- The Purifier. Absorb impurities and detoxify the skin, formulated for Oily and Acne prone skin. Face by ToGoSpa Micro-Infused Collagen Gel Masks with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins C & E will hydrate, brighten and smooth your FACE.

This is great for detoxing the skin - depuffing, etc. ToGoSpa describes it as perfect for the over-indulgent. I have enjoyed bamboo charcoal masks before, so I am hoping this works well to leave my skin feeling clean and refreshed!

This mask is straight-forward to use: wash face, apply the mask to face, wear for 30-45 minutes, remove mask and complete skincare routine.

ToGoSpa suggests a few tips: make sure you have time to lie down while wearing, try using the time to add in a facial massage, and massage the remaining essence in to the skin.

Okay, so this is a thick gel mask and it had a lot of essence. Generally, gel masks come out feeling tacky so they can adhere to the skin. This one came out with essence dripping off of it. This made this quite hard to adhere to the skin, especially standing up as I was originally doing while trying to apply the mask. So, I did have to lie down - there was no way this was staying to the face any other way.

My big gripe with this mask is the fit - there is so other way to say this, it is not a good fit. This should have at least 2 cut out slits on the sides so that you can fold it over to fit the face better. Also, I had to wear it really close to the bottom of my eyes to try and get this to fit my mouth properly. In fact, immediately after this picture was taken that tab between the nose and mouth was ripped off. But, even lying down and with that tab removed, this would not stay on my chin. It was just to big and heavy and settled underneath. For me, the dip in my chin is actually a problem area for me and would really benefit from a detox mask!

I don't want this to sound like a big negative post, because I prefer that not to be my overall tone; but, after the fit not being great, neither were the results on my skin. It made my skin feel okay, but I didn't have any incredible results. (And it smelled a little weird to me as well).

While this mask wasn't my fav, I would always recommend ToGoSpa eyes and another part of the giveaway I received was the Bamboo Charcoal EYES so I am excited to try those! Have you tried any ToGoSpa Masks?
