August 2016 Boxycharm - Review and Unboxing

Boxycharm is $21.00 a month + $5.00 shipping to Canada (shipping is free to the U.S.) Boxycharm sends 4 to 5 full size and luxury size beauty items. (This is only the 3rd month they have been shipping to Canada!)

Looking back at past reviews, this box focuses heavily on make-up items - so that is something to keep in mind! (I personally love all the makeup though and they have sent full size palettes in the past!)

Here is a look at August's Boxycharm:

Here is a look at the items included in this month's box:
August 2016 Boxycharm - Review and Unboxing

Coastal Scents Blush and Bronzer Mini Palette ~ $13.95. Everything for a beautiful face... all in one place! Bronzers for amazing overall skin tone, contouring tones for well-defined cheekbones, and blushes for just the right finishing touch. Mix and match combinations... blend colors together! It’s all about your creativity. It’s all about your look.

This is a handy little set- I love that they have included a palette, it is a great size. I will have to test out the shades as they may be a little too dark for me!

Bonus Item: Coastal Scents Angled Blush Brush ~ $6.00.

I love that they included a little brush with this too! It fits in the box, so it would great to travel with!

Dirty Little Secret Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in "Phantom" ~ $10.00. Create a long lasting velvet matte lip with this gorgeous liquid lipstick newly launched by Dirty Little Secret.

Phantom is described as "fire-y red with orange undertones". I love that this is a new launch and I love the formula! It is super long wearing and does not budge at all! I'm not thrilled with the orange-y red, it isn't the most flattering on my skintone!

Aloette - Aloepure Time Repair Serum ~ $48 US. Time Repair is a powerful age-defying serum, fortified with alpha and beta hydroxy acids to smooth away dead skin cells and powerful antioxidants to protect skin from damaging free radicals. Formulated for all skin types, this non-irritating, lightweight formula absorbs quickly to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a renewed radiance.

I'm really excited to see a full size serum in here! This sounds great - i'm excited to use it! I love serums!

Makeup Eraser - AmpliMascara ~ $23.00. AmpliMascara is a super-rich black, amplifying mascara serum that lasts all day and all night. When properly applied, we promise no clumping, no flaking, no smudging, and no irritation. Yet AmpliMascara easily washes off with water water and a makeup eraser.

A mascara serum sounds interesting - hopefully it is good! I have quite the backlog of mascara at the moment, but I use it up quickly so I will try this soon!

Beauty For Real Shadow Stx in "Midnight Marathon" ~ $19.00. This paraben free and cruelty free, long-wearing, cream-to-powder eyeshadow stick is easy to apply and is infused with meadow-foam seed oil to moisturize, rejuvenate and reduce signs of aging.

These are described as 24/7 waterproof eyeshadow and the shade Midnight Marathon is described as "the perfect universal caramel topaz shimmer". I think it's a weird claim that this eyeshadow reduces the signs of aging! I'm not a huge fan of cream eyeshadows, I don't like how they apply and blah, not for me.

Boxycharm came with 5 full sized items (and a bonus item) with a value of $119.95 - I really love that Boxycharm delivers full sized items and came with a huge value! Boxycharm boxes are generally the same among subscribers, but they do sometimes have a few variable items (for example, this month you got 1 of 2 different mascaras). This month's box was okay - I was impressed with the variety of the items, I did find some shades/formula were not for me!

I know this is a little more expensive than Ipsy or Topbox, but it seems worth it given what you receive. If you love makeup I would recommend this box.
