December 2014 Winter Luxe Box by Loose Button - Canadian Quarterly Beauty Box Review

Luxe Box by Loose Button is a quarterly beauty subscription. It is a Canadian Company and they send out their beauty box at the start of each season. The cost is $26.00 Canadian per quarter ($27.30 with tax). Shipping is included in the price and they currently only ship to Canada! You will receive 7-8 sample size and full size products beauty product and tools.
You can save a little if you sign up for a longer subscription - $25 a box if you sign up for 2 boxes and $24 a box if you sign up for a year (4 boxes).

Here is a look at the Winter 2014 Luxe Box:

Luxe Box does not come with a product card - they have an area on their website where you view your products (it is usually very well organized and has the value and size of all the products that they include - which I love!)

Looks like a good variety of products; here is a closer look at the products:

Skyn Iceland - Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels for Smile Lines ~ I pair of for $4.37 (full size is 8 pairs for $35). An intensive 10-minute weekly treatment packing the wrinkle-erasing power of a muscle relaxing injection, that instantly flattens expression lines you have, while preventing future ones from forming.
While wrinkles are not a major concern of mine, I love anything "mask-y", so I will try these!

Paula's Choice Skincare - Clinical KP Treatment Cloths ~ 10 cloths for $14.00. Wipe your KP woes away. And banish "bacne", too. These easy-to-use keratosis pilaris wipes get rid of those little red bumps (aka chicken skin) and reveal smooth, even skin anywhere on the body.
These sound great for me (I always have those stupid Keratosis bumps on my arms and use a lot of exfoliant!). Unfortunately, I didn't think that they are actually as good as they sound - they smell like you are pouring straight alcohol over your arms, and I have been using these for a couple of days and saw no improvement (I felt like the bumps were more pronounced after using them rather than better). Also, I think that the full size price is quite hefty.

Eyelash Curler by Loose Button ~ $20. Give your lashes their biggest curl and best volume ever with our Loose Button eyelash curler.
I love that Luxe Box always includes a tool of some sorts - unfortunately for me I do not use eyelash curlers! I am lucky to have curly lashes and these things scare me since I have never used one! I will pass this on.

Suki Skincare - Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser ~ sample size 30 ml for $10.95. “I formulate my award-winning facial exfoliate because the products out there lack any real exfoliate & rejuvenating value(!) &, to solve my skin problems. my multifunctional solution, is not just for those suffering with skin problems, but for anyone seeking amazingly smooth, soft skin with immediate benefits. & bonus, my signature aroma blend speaks for itself!“
I love exfoliant facial cleansers - and this is great because I just ran out of one for my shower and now I get a new one to replace it with! This one smells so good (very fresh and lemon-y) and looks highly reviewed, so I am looking forward to trying it out!

Nicole by OPI Nail Polish in "Profoundly Purple" ~ sample size 3.75 ml for $3.99. This deep eggplant has soulful beauty. Nicole by OPI puts salon quality at your fingertips…from the colorful world of OPI.
Sorry, I forgot to include a swatch of this color - but it is a nice deep eggplant purple color. I really like it!

Amika - Perk Up Dry Shampoo ~ sample size $10 for 30 ml. Freshen dirty hair, create extra volume, and extend your beautiful blowout with a touch of amika’s Perk Up Dry Shampoo. The only dry shampoo on the market with no aluminum and no talc, once you try it you’ll never go back to your old stuff.
I recieved this sample in a Topbox a few months ago and have really enjoyed it! It does leave a titch of a white residue (my hair is very dark) but I apply it the night before and let it absorb overnight and the residue goes away in the morning with a quick brush!

Butter London Ruby Murray Moisture Matte Lipstick ~ sample size $0. Full coverage, ultimate colour payoff in a velvety matte finish.  Specialized pigments extend colour wear. Long-lasting, non-drying formula does not feather or bleed.
You had to purchase an upgrade to receive the lipstick - I can't even open it to see the color as it is a one time use sample. I do like Butter London products, so I imagine it is nice!

Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in "Niagara Overlook" ~ full size $9.99. Introducing six creamy, full-coverage shades of matte lip color in a modern crayon. Lightweight moisture for a comfortable, everyday wear formula infused with Shea Butter, Kendi Oil, and Jojoba Oil. It's color that truly cares for your lips!
I love Burt's Bees lip products - I am going to keep this product un-used right now as I have a few lip crayons currently, so i am going to save this one.

So for $26, I received 7 items (1 full size) with a total value of $73.30. (I was spoiled with my last Luxe Box with 4 of my items being full sized), but there is still a good variety of products and a good value in the box. I like most of the products I received - I was not impressed with the KP wipes, the lipstick sample was way too small I didn't even count it as an item, and unfortunately I don't use eyelash curlers!
This was not my favourite Luxe Box, but it was still pretty good.
