So, when they released a few more makeup products in the Rose All Day line, I couldn't resist picking up a couple of products to try, because they are just so pretty! I love the rose imprints and just the whole branding of this line!
I picked up the Rose All Play Eyeshadow Bouquet and the Set & Glow Powder and Balm - the eyeshadow palette had beautiful shades plus these really unique looking shadows and the Set & Glow powder and balm sounded unique as well!
Physicians Formula Rose All Play Eyeshadow Bouquet ~ $20.99 CAN at Shoppers or $21.49 CAN at London Drugs. A palette of 12 gleaming eyeshadows to adorn your eyes in richly-pigmented shades that melts into the skin. Carefully selected in easy-to-use combinations to transform your eye look for any occasion - Finishes range from gleaming shimmers, flattering mattes, to second-skin satins.
I couldn't resist trying this eyeshadow bouquet - it was so beautiful and my eyes were drawn to those tie-dyeish shimmery beautiful shadows and I really wanted to give those a try!!
Apparently these shadows are ultra-luxurious and they are enriched with rose extract to help soothe and calm and Goji and Kakadu Plum to brighten.
I think the palette is really eye-catching, but it doesn't come with a mirror because it has the clear cover on the front. I typically get ready in front of a vanity mirror so it's not the biggest deal to me. Also, the shadow names are printed on the back along with 3 quick eye look guides. This is fine, but I really never look at the back of a palette, so I just won't pay attention to the names personally!

This palette does have a range of mattes, satins, one satin shimmer and then four gleaming shimmers. It felt a little off balance with the one different shimmer finish and the layout with the gleaming shimmers looked a little off to me (I like symmetry and this look a little imbalanced) - it's not a deal breaker or anything, just a note that it throws me off a little!
For this eye look I used Bottomless Brunch as the base shadow and Sure, Why Not? throughout the crease. Then I deepened the outer corner with Berry Chic and applied Flor Real to the outer lid. Then I applied Winestone Cowboy on the middle lid and Yes Way Rose on the inner lid.
I thought these shadows were okay - the satins and mattes were creamy and blendable for the most part, but did find them a little patchy sometimes - specifically some of the deeper shadow (they applied way nicer over a primer). I know the purpley tones can be a little trickier to formulate and these are certainly workable and the shadows were buildable. The satin shimmer was a lovely formula; but, the gleaming shimmers were a little more sheer than I was hoping for. They were really creamy and applied nicer with a finger than a brush - they were just really sheer and needed some type of shadow underneath as they were more of a topper. They were still pretty, just a little different than I was expecting.
Physicians Formula Set & Glow Illuminating Powder & Balm in Sunlit Glow ~ $21.99 CAN at Shoppers and $20.99 CAN at London Drugs. An illuminating setting powder that captures, diffuses, and softens surrounding light, setting makeup in place for all-day wear. Includes a moisturizing, glow-enhancing dewy balm to add a soft, all-over-glow to any complexion.
So this is a sort of 2-in-1 product with a glowy setting powder and then a little balm to add a little glow pop to the skin. I love an illuminating setting powder (I have a couple on the go and have spent over double this amount of money on a similar Hourglass powder, so I'm hoping this is comparable!)
I was pleasantly surprised by this packaging when I picked it up - looking at pictures, I thought the pan itself was split half and half with the setting powder and the balm and instead it's a full setting powder with an extra little layer of the balm. The packaging is a little bulky, but is still the same as the Butter Bronzer, ect.
This product, like the eyeshadow bouquet, is said to contain rose extract to help soothe and calm your skin and in addition, there are ultra-fine micro-pearls that work to create a softer youthful appearance.
Here is a look at the Sunlit Glow setting powder swatched on me - it looks fairly faint and just a hint of shimmer, so it appears to be a really good match for my skintone!
I have the Sunlit Glow all over my face as a setting powder and I have the dewy balm on the apples of my cheeks - no highlighter, just the same blush all over and added the balm where I would have normally applied my highlighter.
I did really like the setting powder - I thought it added a nice, really gentle luminous finish to the skin. And, the balm was a little weird clear gel, but it does add a subtle pop of glow on the cheeks. I don't use a lot of creamy products; but, I am trying to use them more, so I will keep giving this a try!
And, here is a full look with the Set & Glow Illuminating Powder and Balm and the Play All Day Eyeshadow Bouquet on! Overall, I really liked the setting powder and though the shadow palette was just okay and the balm is just a newer type of product to me!
