This Valentine's Day was all about the conversation hearts for me! I think it was because I found out that they weren't readily available this year so I had to go hunt them down at Bulk Barn! Did you catch my hand-painted Conversation Heart nails this Monday?! They were some of my favourite Valentine's nail art that I've done!
So, I happened to find a few Conversation Heart inspired Valentine's goodies for a little gift guide for the special occasion if you love the little candy hearts as much as I do:
- "Be Mine" Candle and Card Combo by JayBee Designs and Milk Jar Candle Co. ~ $32.00 CAN. Both of these companies are Calgary companies and they are hand-made products! The card is adorably printed and the candle is a limited edition cinnamon honey scent with a wood wick!
- David's Tea Heart Shaped Tin ~ $15.00 CAN for 3 tins. How cute are these little heart tins?! I'm a total sucker for adorable packaging. I picked up the Lavender Buttercream, the Chocolate Covered Strawberry, and the Sweet Tart!
- Alicja Confections Conversation Heart Milk Chocolate Bar ~ $8.99 CAN. This is an honourable mention because I ordered one and it just didn't make it to me in time, sadly! This milk chocolate bar is supposed to be covered in conversation hearts and I've heard so many good things about this company!
We are pretty quiet for Valentine's Day, so that's why I never have a crazy amount of gift suggestions!
TWO
Have I mentioned that they make pizzas as hearts for Valentine's Day yet - pretty sure I've been talking about it incessantly for like 2 weeks because I've been impatiently waiting for my heart shaped pizza! And really, that's my level of Valentine's Day romance! What do you guys have planned?!
THREE
I recently reorganized my books - if you caught my Five on Friday a couple of weeks ago, you would have seen the big new bookshelf I got, well I added to that shelf a little to help organize kids book (they are all over the bottom shelf of the book shelf too), this cart is going to hold our library books and most read books!
FOUR
Parenting win of the week - my son has loved his bottle for years (he's almost 3) and we've been working on getting him to switch to water cups for a year and he has just cried and screamed for his baba - it's been painful! But, we managed to switch him this week and the first day maybe had some fits but it's been surprisingly smooth since then! Phew - he's just been so stubborn!
FIVE
Wow, you know my life is incredibly exciting when one of the highlighters of my week is getting a WaterPik - I know, thrilling right?! But in all seriousness, have any of you tried one of these before?! We have some gum issues in my family and they can be hereditary so I'm trying to get ahead of any problems! I find this really aggressive, but I think it just takes some getting used to!
I hope you all have a great weekend! It's a long weekend here and I seriously need an extra day off - I can't wait!
Happy Valentine's Day! That Milk Jar candle sounds like it smells delicious! Alicja Confections is from Ottawa, but I have yet to try her chocolates. I've heard great things about them though.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to keep us posted on that water pik, I've never used one.
We're having pizza tonight as well, but not heart-shaped. We buy the gluten free cheese pizzas at Costco and load them with our own toppings. We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but we do a few things for our daughter. Today's clothes all had hearts on them, shirt, pants, undies, socks, lol!
Thanks Chantal - hope you had a good Valentine's Day! I love Friday night pizza night - we like to make our own too!
