June 2014 Summer Luxe Box by Loose Button Review

Luxe Box is a quarterly beauty subscription by Loose Button. It is a Canadian Company and they send out their beauty box at the start of each season. The cost is $26.00 Canadian quarterly ($27.30 with tax). Shipping is included in the price and I believe they currently only ship to Canada! The price is $25 a box if you sign up for 2 boxes and $24 a box if you sign up for a year (4 boxes). You will receive 7-8 full size and sample size products.

I was really excited to receive this box - I love the idea of a quarterly box and that the Company is Canadian! It looks like from past reviews that they send out quality name brand products as well.

Here is a look:

I love the packaging - I received a few boxes in the mail that were a little beat up, but this one was sturdy and all the products came in a silky drawstring bag. I did not receive a product card - but their is a product dashboard to review all the products.

Manicure Monday - Splatter Nails!

Well now that Game of Thrones is over, I had to switch to old episodes of The O.C. to watch while I do my nails!

My inspiration this week is: splatter nails!

These are fun to do - they can get a little messy, but I love the end result!

Here are the products I used this week:

  • Formula X cosmic - plum pearl
  • Julep in Evie

June 2014 TopBox - Review, Unboxing and Teeez Trendy Cosmetics Mascara Review!

TopBox is a Canadian Monthy Beauty Box Subscription list. For $12 Canadian a month & free shipping they send you 4-5 sample & full size products. I love that this company is Canadian and has free shipping - the only downside is about a 1 mnoth waitlist to get signed up!

Here is a look at my June 2014 Topbox:

So, instead of the regular monthly Topbox I received the Teeez Trendy Cosmetics Privé box. Each month Topbox sends out an email and members can "wish" for a couple Privé boxes instead of the regular monthly box. A Privé box is one designed by the same company.

June 2014 Beauty Box 5 - Review and Unboxing

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription box that costs $12 a month US, $30 quarterly, and $99 a year - free shipping on all boxes. I signed up for Beauty Box 5 when they had a promotion for $12 off a year - so I got a full year for $87. This worked out to $97.60 Canadian with the exchange rate so $8.14 a month!

I had read the reviews prior and know that Beauty Box 5 generally has smaller sample sizes and their boxes have a much lower value than some; however, there are some boxes that are total gems! So for $8 a month it is worth it!

Here is the first look at my June 2014 Beauty Box 5:

The theme of June's Box is less effort, more cool focusing on iconic and hot weather basics. The box includes a product card to explain what you get in each box.

June 2014 Wantable Accessory Box - Review and Unboxing

This is my second month receiving Wantable, my experience last month wasn't the greatest so I changed my preferences and hoped for better this month!

Wantable gives you the option to pick an accessory, intimate, or make-up box all for the same price every month. For $36 US a month + $6 shipping and taxes etc. I paid $53.23 with the exchange rate.
Also, lets say last month I got a "full refund" from Wantable so I spent nothing. I like that they offered a refund; however, did not include the $6 handling charge + shipping was at your expense ($16.42). So lets say I spent $0 for my June box - my total this month with the box, last months handling fees, and shipping is $76.42.

So lets see what I got for $75! The theme of the box is items to wear to festivals, barbecues, beach - it also highlights turquoise as the staple color. Here is the first look at my June 2014 Wantable Accessory Box:

So my "loves" I selected are: necklaces, sunglasses, scarves, silver tone, and gold tone. My "likes" are classic, glam and multi tone. I am glad this month they picked 4 months from my love list and not from my like or dislike box!

June 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag - Review and Unboxing

Ever since I received my first Ipsy bag last month, I have been looking forward to receiving more!!! Ipsy is $10 US a month plus $5 shipping to Canada ($16.64 this month with the conversion rate). Each month you receive 4-5 beauty samples or full size products.

Here is the first look at my June Ipsy bag:

I love the little pink mailer they send every month in and this month's bag was designed by Rebecca Minkoff! It's actually quite cute. I have read in the past some people really don't like the bags, but I have loved the last two months! They are definitely a bonus to me!

Manicure Monday (Orange and Glitter Julep Polish) and Monthly Pedicure (Coral and Grey Striped Toes)!

Alright, So I had a little bit of time yesterday to do my nails and toenails while catching up on some soccer - I couldn't do it during Game of Thrones last night, the season finale needed my full undivided attention!

This month for my toes I thought I would try out a design (I love looking at some of the great ideas out there for toes but I often end up playing it safe and only experimenting on my nails!). So work with me a little as I keep practicing cool pedicure ideas!

Here are the products I used:
Products for this month's pedicure
  • Formula X nail cleanser, base coat & top coat
  • Sally Hansen #460 Wet Cement
  • Sally Hansen #405 Coral reef
  • Kiss Nail Art Polish in Black (thin brush)
  • Straight line Nail Stickers

May 2014 Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Box Subscription - Review and Unboxing!

Petit Vour is a vegan & cruelty monthly subscription box! They give you deluxe sample and some full size products - if you like what you try, you can buy it in their shop and earn points towards future purchases.

I really love the idea of makeup/beauty/skin care products that are made without harming any animals - so this is a great way to discover some new brands that are cruelty free! For Canadians the subscription boxes are $23 monthly ($25.66 with the exchange rate) - and Americans pay $15.

So I had not heard of Petit Vour until I was doing my research about all of the beauty boxes that ship to Canada & I signed up on May 18 thinking I would have to wait until June to receive my first box and lucky for me they shipped one out on the 20th so I could still get the May box!

So cute - they send it out in a little pink box and nicely packaged; here is what I got:
