Happy Manicure Monday! Bear with me, this may be a bit longer than my typical mani posts because I have some thoughts! I was so excited when Sally Hansen announced that they were releasing a new Xtreme Wear collection (it was my most favourite polish line, but they haven't released new polishes in so long I thought they forgot about the line!)
I purchased everything in this post
So, when Sally Hansen announced this new collection, they also announced that they reformulated the Xtreme Wear line to be 100% vegan - I love that. Unfortunately, for me the reformulation just didn't work. This line used to be opaque in two coats and a perfect wear polish - now it's a quite thin formula, this needed at least three coats, but I found they just didn't layer as nicely.
This isn't meant as a shit post on Sally Hansen by any means - I still love their polishes, I've picked up a ton of the Insta-Dri line and I still love the brand, but I think I will stick to the other formulas personally! If you are interested, these are available at Shoppers Drug Mart or Amazon!
Here's a look at the first and second coats using one of the polishes, just so you can see what it looks like. All swatches shown below are with three coats of polish.
City That Never Peach ~ This is quite a beautiful light peachy shade that learns a little orange. I love it - it photographed okay, but in person was a little lumpy and not quite smooth.
Pound The Pave-Mint ~ this is a teal leaning mint and it's such a gorgeous shade! Again, sadly the formula didn't work for me, but I really appreciate the colours in this line!
Uptown Pearls ~ This looked liked a sheer silvery duo-chrome shimmer and I was so surprised when it was basically a shimmer, it didn't work for me at all.
Let me know if you picked up this collection or if you will pass?! As always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love for their Summer nails!
