For this week's Mani I was thinking a simple look with a good accent nail:
I love the orange shades - so pretty!
Here is a look at the products I used for this week's nails:
-Formula X nail cleanser, base coat and top coat
-Julep #3282 Boho Glam glitter in Autumn
-Julep #3126 Boho Glam in Karen
Here are the steps I used for this week's nails:
1. Nail Cleanser and Base Coat
2. Paint all nails in the Karen (i like my glitter to have a light color underneath)
3. Add glitter to as many accent nails as you like!! So I really liked Julep polish last week and the color went on well; however, this glitter polish took 3-4 coats to make it look solid!
Again, a little quieter than my normal nails; however, i like the colors - the orange is actually a little lighter than this picture shows!!
And, now toes! This month for my toes I thought I would try out a design (I love looking at some of the great ideas out there for toes but I often end up playing it safe and only experimenting on my nails!). So work with me a little as I keep practicing cool pedicure ideas!
Here are the products I used:
- Formula X nail cleanser, base coat and top coat
- Sally Hansen #460 Wet Cement
- Sally Hansen #405 Coral reef
- Kiss Nail Art Polish in Black (thin brush)
- Straight line Nail Stickers
Here are the steps I followed:
1. Paint the base of the toe grey - i did this as my Coral has really good coverage in 1 coat - use the lighter polish for the base color as it will be easier to paint over & paint your other toes a matching color (i wasn't quite ready for them to be all different colors so i did them all coral)

2. Let the big toe dry very well and add nail stickers to create the shape on the nail:
(So i found out very quickly i should have used thinner stickers if i wanted it to look just like the original photo - so mine will be slightly different at the end)
3. Paint the Coral over top of the grey and stickers and peel the stickers off without letting the coral dry - if it dries the polish will lift
4. Use nail art brush and outline the coral shapes (this is a step for the nails i did not the inspiration photo)
A little different than the inspiration, but i love the colors and think it turned out pretty good - i love these colors together!
I was wondering how you could concentrate on nails while watching the finale! So intense, I would have ended up with polish everywhere!
ReplyDeletehaha - it was sooo good!! yes, i had to plan around it for sure or nail polish would have been all over the place :)
