The Night Circus was published 10 years ago today, and I'm sure you've heard me talk about it a lot, but this is easily my favourite book - the magic, the setting, the love, the challenge, it's all just so lovely! I'm currently on my 6th read of this book and it's the perfect Fall book; it just gets better and better every time I read it!

I've been seeing these little flower french mani tips everywhere lately and I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and give it a try! I did a light peachy-pink base with purple flowers on the tips (in hindsight, I could have used different colours, but the contrast between the base and the flowers is a little more prominent in person!)

I actually don't have any makeup favourites this month - I've been trying a couple of new things and playing with some old stuff, but nothing that stood out as amazing to me in the makeup department! But, I do have two purple nail polishes for balance! 

Monthly Haul - What I Bought in December 2020

I always enjoy my Monthly Haul posts, so I can share with you everything I picked up in the month; because, as much as I try to, I can't share every single thing I picked up all the time! 

With my purchases, I'm just trying to the being more conscious about my purchases and just make sure it's makeup that I will really like before buying it! I want to make sure that I can use and enjoy the products I have in my collection and that I will really use the products I picked up!

House of Creme de la Creme Haul ~ $134.82 CAN. I was in Edmonton earlier in December for a work trip, and I was so excited to pay a little visit to Creme de a Creme Beauty Lounge - I made a custom lipstick shade (and actually got a full second tube!) Then, they had a buy 2, get 1 free on lashes (plus got an extra pair thrown in for free!) Then, I picked up a polish, and it was made right in shop in front of me - you can see the shade Absinthe on me in a Manicure Monday post here! And, I picked up a single shadow as well - I can't wait to share a full post on these products and my experience at the Beauty Lounge soon!

I rarely, if ever, wear nude polishes on my nails! I always just go with pinks and brighter polishes, and it seems so quiet to wear a nude polish! (And normally I like my nails anything but quiet!)

Happy Long Weekend Manicure Monday! I hope you all are having an amazing long weekend - the weather has been absolutely gorgeous here all weekend! Everything is finally blooming and turning green and this is my favorite weather - I love Spring! Thus, it inspired a lovely foliage manicure! 

I'm not going to lie, I loooove how these nails turned out! I love the balance of peach, green and gold and how they all came together! It just feels so Springy and lovely! 

Manicure Monday - Morgan Taylor's Royal Temptations Spring 2018 Collection!

I'm so excited to get in to this Manicure Monday! I have a look at the whole Spring 2018 Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer "Royal Temptations" collection - six polishes and one special effect glitter polish! 

This collection is fit for a queen and is inspired by the lavish life of Marie Antoinette! It includes opulent candy hued greens, pinks, and purples! I love that they are pastel shades fit for Spring; but, they aren't muted shades at all! So, I say - let them eat cake... and wear beautiful nail polish shades while they're at it! 

This collection is stunning! I'm going to be honest and say that while Sophie Coppola's Marie Antoinette movie has been out for 12 years, I still watch it! It's such a visually stunning movie with gorgeous colours and an amazing setting - this collection reminds me very much of the movie! I read the book that came out at the same time and I think a luxurious French lifestyle of the late 1770's is a great inspiration! (And, yes I know the French Revolution was close to follow this time; but, it's just nail polish everyone - it's more about the colours of Versailles and the clothing and accessories that inspired this collection!)

Manicure Monday - YYC Pride Week Rainbow Nails!

It is currently Pride Week here in Calgary - August 26 to September 5, 2016! I'm marching in the Pride Week parade this coming up weekend, so it's only appropriate that I have some rainbow nails! 

I created this look with super thin nail viynls and a polish of each rainbow shade! 

June 2016 Topbox - Review and Unboxing

TopBox is a Canadian Beauty Box Subscription - for $12 CDN a month with free shipping, you will receive 4 deluxe sample size or full size products. You fill out a beauty profile and generally receive products based on what you have identified in the profile. Also, every month you have the option to wish for a "prive" box, which is a box that focuses on one brand or product for the whole box.

Each month comes with a couple variations, so you may not receive exactly the same products as me, but generally 1 or 2 are the same throughout all the bags. 
TopBox is a Canadian company and only ships to Canada. There is usually a month or two waitlist for this subscription. 

For June, I requested a regular Topbox - here is a look at what I received: 

One change Topbox made this month is that they are no longer sending a paper product card - you will now get it emailed to you around the time that your bag ships out. This helps them send out electronic links to where you can buy the products! Also, they changed to purple foil bubble mailers instead of the past signature Topbox mailer, but they are very similar.
