Monthly Beauty and Book Haul ~ August 2023

Last year I set a monthly beauty and books budget at $200 per month and I really stuck to it! I am trying to be thoughtful in my purchases, so this has been holding me accountable for being reasonable with my spending. Since it worked so well last year, I'm really trying to do the same thing this year!

I do always love my Monthly Haul posts - it's a good way to keep track of everything that I picked up each month. I don't always blog about everything I pick up (I try to), but if you ever spot anything in here that you really want me to talk about, let me know!

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

Shopper's Drug Mart Haul ~ $12.93 CAN. I picked up a few goodies with my Optimum points (my favourite way to shop) - I was able to get the gorgeous Chanel cream bronzer and I can't wait to give it a try! Plus I needed some mascara and I got a free mascara sample and sample pack! Pretty good little haul!

Indigo Pre-orders ~ $36.88 CAN. The Disney Meant To Be series is an auto-buy series for me and Elizabeth Acevedo is an auto-buy author for me. I am excited to read both of these and they both sound like books I'm really going to like!

Amazon Order ~ $45.27 CAN. I picked up the next book in the Lovelight Farms books - this is a companion romance series that I've enjoyed. Then I was so excited about the new Sally Hansen polishes, but these were a total fail for me (you can read my Manicure Monday post here!)

Etsy Fourth Wing Purchase ~ $142.11 CAN. Sorry if I made you spit out your coffee with that price, it is not a typo - I had total FOMO on this book and could not get the printed edition out of my head. I had to have it. So I ordered from Etsy seller OutOfThisWorldTB and I'm really happy with how it turned out!

The Girl In The Eagle's Talon ~ $4.48 CAN. I did not know there was another Lisbeth Salander novel coming out, but I've read them all and I do enjoy the series overall. Book 5 & 6 were a little too far-fetched for me, but this is a new author, so I'm curious if this will be another trilogy as well!

This past month I spent $241.67 on books and beauty - honestly, this is probably the most over-budget I've been in a while, so I still feel like overall it's pretty good and I'm happy with my purchases (for the most part - I'm looking at those Sally Hansen polishes though).
