October 2020 - Monthly Empties

Time for a look at my October Empties:

October 2020 - Monthly Empties
Some products were received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links

Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray - Oil Control ~ $29.00 US for 4 oz. Our oil control finishing spray gives you a soft matte look while holding makeup perfectly in place.

This just made my Monthly Favourites (twice this year actually), so it's such a good setting spray. It holds everything in place and makes everything last.
Repurchase: Yes

Tarte Sea Quench Lip Rescue Balm in Nude ~ deluxe size (full size is $26.00 CAN). Soothing, hydrating lip balm with a sheer tint.

This was a recent finish in my Project Pan, it was quick to finish because I think the formula totally softened up and smooshed everywhere and was generally difficult to use. I've heard great things about this formula so I'm a little sad it didn't perform well for me.
Repurchase: No

Catrice Eye Liner Pen Waterproof ~ $7.99 CAN. The Catrice Waterproof Eye Liner Pen's fine felt tip creates subtle and dramatic eye looks.

I like a felt tip liner; but, this one was a little too stiff for my preference - it doesn't move at all, so it's not the easiest to use. This was a very pigmented formula; however, I found with use it faded quickly. It was long wearing so that was a bonus.
Repurchase: Probably not

MAC Cosmetics Eye Brows in "Spiked" ~ $21.00 CAN. This pencil will add everything you need: shape, colour and/or density in one streamlined tool.

This was another Project Pan finish - it lasted longer than I thought it would, but it wasn't a great formula. It also doesn't have a spoolie and it's not a package you can twist back down (I lived with total concern than one brow was going to be complete and then boom, none left for eyebrow #2).
Repurchase: Nope

Esqido Companion Eyelash Glue ~ $13.08 CAN. Specially formulated for mink lashes and latex-free, it's a gentle mixture that extends the life of your lashes.

I love that this has a brush tip and I thought this worked well - I don't often use lashes, but this worked well.
Repurchase: Maybe

Esqido False Lashes "Voila" ~ $20.00 US. Designed for ladies with natural medium to long lashes, each individual strand on these mink false eyelashes subtly overlap for a lustrous and heavenly effect.

These lashes are huge - so bold and full of volume! You would have just seen them in my Sally Makeup Look for Halloween - these lasted a lot of uses and I'm not the most gentle on my lashes. The cotton band is very comfortable to wear as well.
Repurchase: Yes from this brand, this style was a tad too big for me

October 2020 - Monthly Empties

Neutrogena Make-Up Removing Cleansing Wipes Night Calming Duo ~ $19.99 CAN for 2 packs of wipes. Gently and effectively dissolve all traces of dirt, oil and make-up from your face.

These "night calming" wipes apparently have a unique scent to help you unwind - I really didn't notice a scent; but, these worked well and removed makeup. This is one of the only type of face wipes that I think actually remove most makeup, so I tend to stick to these ones. I try and use wipes a little less to not be as wasteful, but these can be used a couple times too for one sheet which is great!
Repurchase: Yes

Dove Go Fresh Body Mist - Rebalance Plum & Sakura Blossom Scent ~ $?

This is basically a super old body mist - pretty sure it's been in my purse for years if I ever needed a refresher. It actually smelled nice and worked fine. It's discontinued at this point, but I did like it.
Repurchase: Not available

Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Hands Stronger Nails Lotion ~ $6.49 CAN. This lotion is enriched with Keratin and gently exfoliates skin for softer palms, fingertips and knuckles, smoother cuticles, and stronger nails.

I have been going through hand lotion like crazy, of course with all the extra sanitizer as well as just cold and dry weather, I think everyone will! I also have hand lotions everywhere and this was my beauty room one - it was nice and moisturizing and absorbed quickly.
Repurchase: Yes

Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash ~ full size is $8.79 CAN. This moisturizing body wash from Dove combines NutriumMoisture with mild cleansers to help your skin retain its natural moisture.

This was a really thick body wash formula - good, but almost too thick?! It didn't really suds up as much as I wanted, but it worked fine.
Repurchase: Probably not

Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch ~ $6.26 CAN (prices vary by website). Acne Pimple Master Patch heals acne, blemishes and prevents future breakouts quickly.

These are a holy grail in my collection - these made my favorites all the way back in September 2015 and I still repurchase consistently. These clear up acne so well and so quickly!
Repurchase: Yes!

EcoTools Facial Mask Brush ~ $10.99 CAN for the whole set with sponges. The Mask Applicator Brush is designed with soft, flat bristles to evenly apply cream, gel, or clay masks for full coverage, mess-free.

This was fine, I did like using it to apply some masks and I thought it worked well. It's just hard and crunchy at this point. It was handy to have, but I typically just use a small mask spatula for the same results.
Repurchase: Probably not

October 2020 - Monthly Empties

Mitchum Clinical Soft Solid ~ $8.99 CAN.

Deodorant is nothing special; but, I love the clinical strength formula and this brand is my go-to. I like that it is both an antiperspirant and a deodorant.
Repurchase: Yes

Clear Care Plus Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution ~ $19.97 CAN for a set of 2. Not only does CLEAR CARE® PLUS Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution clean and disinfect your contact lenses with the bubbling power of hydrogen peroxide, it also surrounds your lenses with long-lasting moisture.

This is a great contact solution - I switched to a hydrogen peroxide solution well over a year ago (with only one mishap of not letting it rinse long enough). This is at least a 6 hour solution so you can't wear your contacts the next day unless you have enough time; but, it's great! Much better at cleaning than regular solutions!
Repurchase: Yes!

October 2020 - Monthly Empties

Anjou Bath Bombs Gift Set ~ $21.99 CAN for 6 bath bombs. 6 Different Soft and Mild Scents: Upgraded, softer scents ensure you choose between peppermint, orange, lemon, grapefruit, lavender and eucalyptus; each one offers a different bathing experience.

I managed to use the whole set of 6 bath bombs in one month, so woo hoo - this was a set I got for Christmas last year. These were fine, the scent was just okay - the colours were good, but these were just okay. I've used better.
Repurchase: Not likely

Winston and Walter Sew Hot Bath Bomb ~ $13.50 CAN. A beautiful Sally in the scent Salem.

These Winnie and Walt bath bombs are amazing! Hands down - they are so stunning! I did a whole post on all the Halloween bath bombs and they are so great. This smelled like cinnamon hearts and it was slow bubbling and long lasting and lovely!
Repurchase: I would, yes!

So I used up 21 products, plus some masks this month:

October 2020 - Monthly Empties

Add-on Beauty Selfie Glow Dry Mask ~ $20.00 CAN. Apply this mess-free dry mask after your usual skincare routine. Our patented Vectorizing technology allows the transport of active ingredients deep into the Dermis of the skin.

This is a dry mask, so it was reusable up to 4 times and I used it all 4 times this month! I love these dry sheet masks because they are just so easy to use any time! You put this on and then massage the mask on the face and wear it. I found my skin was really soft after and I really enjoyed this one! I like that these are made in Canada too!
Repurchase: Yes, and I want to try more!

Sephora Collection Pumpkin Face Mask ~ $7.00 CAN. A plant derived fiber sheet mask that is formulated with pumpkin extract of natural origin.

This mask smelled like pistachio pudding and it was lovely. It had a lot of essence and wore well for a long time - this was comfortable and I really liked it!
Repurchase: Yes, I would

H&M Beauty Clean Sheet Hydrogel Face Mask ~ $6.99 CAN. Your face is your canvas – this softening, hydrating hydrogel mask will leave your skin feeling clean and fresh.

H&M Beauty was on my list to try this year, so I'm happy that I picked up a few masks - I love a hydrogel mask and I thought this one was really good! It was refreshing and soothing and hydrating!
Repurchase: Yes

H&M Beauty Petite Pink Hydrogel Eye Masks ~ $5.99 CAN. Hydrating and refreshing hydrogel eye masks to give tired eyes a much-needed boost.

I really liked these hydrogel masks as well - I thought they were cooling and refreshing under the eyes!
Repurchase: Yes

October 2020 - Monthly Empties

Patchology FlashPatch Illuminating Eye Gels ~ $20.00 CAN for 5 pairs. A potent blend of ingredients combine to decrease dark circles, combat hyperpigmentation, boost microcirculation, and brighten skin tone-- all while gently cooling and invigorating the delicate eye area.

I love eye patches and I thought these were pretty good - I found they slipped a little bit under the eyes and these were soothing and brightening.
Repurchase: Maybe

Dr. Jart+ Dermask Water Jet Soothing Hydra Solution ~ $8.00 CAN. A cellulose sheet mask that soothes and calms sensitive skin caused by dehydration.

This was a nice, thin sheet mask - it had lots of essence and was very hydrating on the face! It lasted a long time and was good!
Repurchase: Probably

Dr. Jart+ Dermask Micro Jet Clearing Solution ~ $12.00 CAN. An ultra-fine microfiber sheet mask that helps combat breakouts and reduces the appearance of scars and uneven skin tone.

This was a thicker sheet mask than I was expecting, but it did adhere really well to the face and wore well. I enjoyed it and I thought it was pretty good! But, $12 is a little steep for one mask, so it would be a big splurge!
Repurchase : Maybe

So, on top of 21 products I used up, I also used 7 masks for a total of 28 products! This is actually on the smaller amount of products I have been using up monthly!

I'm going to add up the totals of each category I'm using up to see how much I use up by the end of 2020, so these numbers are from the start of the year:

-Makeup: 45
-Skincare: 77
-Bath and Body: 57
-Haircare: 26
-Nails: 3
-Masks: 45
-Other: 44
