I usually have a ton of hand-painted nail art for Halloween as it's some of my favourite nail art; but, I have been having some fun improving my stamping game with a bunch of new Halloween themed nail stamping plates and I've been loving it!
I recently picked up the set of Maniology nail stamping plates - the Happily Never After set! The whole set is $24.00 US for a set of 5 stamping plates or $6.00 US each!
The set is inspired by the Brothers' Grimm storybook fairy tales - the plates feature elegant and dark macabre-style, so you can embellish your nails with sweet and sinister stamping designs!
Happily Never After: Crimson Heart ~ These gothic-style designs are inspired by the darker details of The Brothers' Grimm story, Snow White. Break open the spine of this twisted fairy tale with luscious bleeding hearts, broken mirrors, cursed reflections, and more. Full nail and rich bouquet-style designs offer infinite possibilities to write your own story.
How gorgeous is this Snow White design?! I love this zombie Snow White so much and the details on this plate are amazing!
Happily Never After: Deepest Oblivion ~ This Sleeping Beauty inspired plate offers beautiful thorny vines to sprawl across your nail beds and frame mysterious castles and cursed spindles. Each ominous illustration depicts the darker side of the storybook classic.
Again, the details of this plate is amazing and Maleficent and dead Aurora look fantastic - I love the detail on this plate! I will use this one so much!
Happily Never After: Mouth of the Wolf ~ These mystical designs inspired by Little Red Riding Hood takes a ravenous bite out of the charming childhood classic. Ominous wolf designs in paint splatter styles, transforming werewolf designs, and haunting overgrown forests have us in a state of delirium.
This is a fairytale I don't often think of; but, the plate is really pretty! I love the font details and the Red Riding Hood and Wolf designs are gorgeous!
Happy Never After: Sweet Revenge ~ The Hansel & Gretel inspired plate lets you play around with body parts, sickening sweets, and wandering shadows within overgrown woods. Combine these detailed graphics with your favorite colors to create cute claws or morbid manis that expresses your unique style.
This is one of the plates I wouldn't have picked up, if I didn't pick up the whole set, but I will say the detail on the candy house is amazing and I do think you can do both fairy tale and haunted nails with this!
Happily Never After: Dead of Night ~ Our Dead of Night nail stamping plate is inspired by the midnight spell undone in the classic storybook fairy tale, Cinderella. A dream quickly turns into a nightmare once the clock strikes 12. Tell a fantasy disillusioned with thorny vines, brittle skeletons, revolting rats, and the scraggly spines of the chilling woods.
A Cinderella stamping plate sounded amazing; but, this plate doesn't look like it was designed by the same people as the other 4 - it has really bulky images with far less detail than the other ones too. It honestly doesn't even really fit with the others sadly; this one could have been way better!
Maniology Grimm's Nightfall Collection: Dearest Aurora ~ Royal and rich, our Dearest Aurora metallic purple creative art nail stamping polish has us feeling dreamy. Fine duo-chromatic glitter over bright creamy purple gives this polish a dazzling, lavish feel. Stamp over your favorite black or pair with our Happily Never After nail plate collection for double the trouble.
Along with the Happily Never After stamping plates, Maniology also released a Grimm's fairytale Nightfall collection to pair with the set. I only picked up the Dearest Aurora shade (because I've explained a few times that Sleeping Beauty is my favourite) and I really like this purple.
So, for this manicure I thought I would combine all of the dead and haunted girls for this week's Halloween nails! And, I love it! Zombie Snow White and Dead Aurora look amazing and I was impressed that the detail of the plates stamped so well! (I do wish I didn't break 4 nails this week, so I could have had a little more of the image to show, but I was still able to get a full picture on shorter nails!)
So, for this week's Manicure, I started with nail cleanser and a base coat, then I applied one coat of the Dearest Aurora as the base polish. Then I used a black stamping polish and picked the haunted ladies from the plates and stamped them on each nails! Then, I finished with a nail art top coat.
I'm really happy with how these Happily Never After nails turned out! As always, make sure you check out the other #CBBxManiMonday group - Cosmetic Proof, Prairie Beauty Love, and Tea & Nail Polish to see their Halloween nails this week!
