I absolutely LOVE how this rainbow makeup turned out - I had always thought that big, fun, bright eye looks weren't exactly what I could pull off and this ended being easy to do and so so so fun to wear! I will be replicating this look on Pride Parade day!
I was planning on a full, matte rainbow look; but, I actually really struggled to find all of the colours of the rainbow in matte shadows in my collection (I'm looking at you green) - so the bottom lash line ended up being shimmery and the top matte and I think it looks really fun that way!
It also wouldn't be a Pride look without a bit of glitter, right?! So I added some yellow green and purple glitter to complete the eye look!

The eyeshadows I used for this month's Shop My Stash are:
-Red ~ Like It's Hot from ColourPop Main Squeeze palette
-Orange ~ Mimosa Mami from ColourPop Orange You Glad? palette
-Yellow ~ Pastis from Viseart Soleil palette
-Yellow green glitter ~ Lit Cosmetics unlabelled, but looks closest to Ka-Boom!
-Green ~ combination of Potions from Storybook Cosmetics Witchcraft and Wizardry palette, with Grateful from Makeup Revolution x Emily Noel The Wants palette
-Blue ~ combination of The Fates from ColourPop Misunderstood. palette and Merlin from Storybook Cosmetics Witchcraft and Wizardry palette
-Purple ~ from the Wet n Wild Hasta La Casta Baby Eyeshadow Quad
-Purple glitter ~ ColourPop Glitter Gel in Avenue of the Stars
And, I used the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded palette for the base - Bribe as the base shadow and Bucked and Boundaries as the transition shades.
This look was easy enough - I just applied a light base shadow, and a peach, tan transition shade in the crease. I patted on the red in the outer corner, the orange in the middle of the lid, the yellow on the inner lid, green on inner lower lash line, blue middle lower last line and purple on the outer lower lash line carried all the way up the outer corner. Then I applied a yellow glitter to the inner corner and purple glitter to under the outer lower lash line! I mostly applied the shadows with a patting motion and just the tiniest bit of overlap so they didn't get muddied up!
The products I used for the rest of the face are:
-Primer ~ Estee Lauder The Smoother Universal Perfecting Primer
-Foundation ~ Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation in 2 Neutral
-Concealer ~ Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full Coverage Concealer in Light Neutral
-Powder ~ Essence Brighten Up! Banana Powder
-Finishing Powder ~ Hourglass Ambient Light Powder in Luminous Light
-Bronzer ~ Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer in Medium/Deep
-Blush ~ Rodial Blusher in Copacabana
-Highlighter ~ Wet n Wild MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder in Written in the Stars
-Eye Primer ~ Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Primer (not pictured)
-Brow Pencil ~ Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil in 4
-Brow Gel ~ Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel
-Eyeliner ~ Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner
-Waterline Liner ~ Chella Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace
-Glitter Glue ~ Lit Cosmetics Glitter Base
-Mascara ~ Too Faced Damn Girl! Mascara
-Lipstick ~ ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick in "Ariel"

The rest of the face I kept pretty basic and just went with a pretty classic face look. I did use a warmer coral blush to tie in the reds and oranges then I paired the look with a pretty classic peachy lipstick in a creme formula!
I just love how much this eye look pops and it's such a fun, bright eye shadow look! i'm really pleased with how this turned out and am loving the Rainbow look so much!
As much as I love all the rainbows that go with it, I want to be clear that I'm a huge supporter of pride because I'm a proud Ally of the LGBTQ community and that's more than putting on makeup rainbow makeup and going to a parade. I will always take a stance against hate and make my political voice heard when voting. I will also always be open to learning and understanding what else I can do to help as an ally and a friend to the community.
What do you think of the rainbow eyeshadow? Would you try something like this?
I love this on you so, SO much! And that glitter gel... on MAN. Now I need that one too! That's stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I actually loved it on too and was so worried about a super bright look! Those glitter gels are awesome!!!
DeleteYou're killing it! The colors are blended to perfection. The only thing I would add is some dramatic falsies, I think it would go well with this look!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I definitely thought about adding falsies as it would really round things out!
