Long Weekend at the Cabin Beauty Must Haves!

As this is posting, we are heading off the cabin this weekend for a long weekend with some friends and their little ones!

And as I was packing, I thought I'd share some of the must-have multi-tasking beauty items that I pack along with me for any quick weekend away! When I'm going out to the cabin (or really any long weekend away) I don't pack my full routine with me because I try to be less high maintenance!

For example, instead of packing an oil cleanser and foaming cleanser for night time, plus a gentle cleanser for the morning, I will just pack one cleanser for the whole time (I can adjust for a couple of days). So, if I can bring products that are multi-purpose, even better!

Long Weekend at the Cabin Beauty Must Haves!

Paula's Choice Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid ~ $33.00 US. An innovative water-light formula that contains a vital selection of antioxidants and broad-spectrum sun protection to fight visible signs of aging and prevent premature aging of skin.

This is basically a moisturizer and sunscreen and it's such a lovely formula! It's a super light weight formula with all the sun protection!
It is described as a satin-matte formula that is meant to leave your skin moisturized and hydrated without being oily or slick. It is to be used as the last step in your morning skincare routine - apply liberally! I really love this for day wear and love that I don't need an extra moisturizer with me!

Coola SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray ~ $49.00 CAN. A makeup setting spray with 70+ percent certified organic ingredients to reduce shine, refresh UV protection, and keep makeup looking fresh all day.

I received this in my Summer FabFitFun and was very excited to try this. Who doesn't struggle with reapplying SPF on days they are wearing makeup?! So, I know this isn't a full on sunscreen, but if I have even the slightest bit of makeup on, I always use this now to refresh, set and reapply some SPF to my face! So, the directions of this say to spray on your hands and pat on your face - no, I just spray this on my face. Ain't nobody got time for that with patting on. It does have a rather strong alcohol scent, but, I don't actually mind alcohol in my setting spray when I'm wearing makeup outside, because it does help set (just be sure to wash it off really well after!)

Long Weekend at the Cabin Beauty Must Haves!

Cake Beauty The Take Out Dry Shampoo Sheets ~ $12.99 CAN. There’s a new dry shampoo player in town. Must-have sheets for on-the-go touch-ups. Driven by natural ingredients, these oil-absorbent rice sheets are infused with transparent powder that grabs oil from your hair without leaving residue behind. Portable, effective, and so fun to use, these killer sheets will never leave your purse.

What a clever idea of having a to-go version of a dry shampoo! It's such a pain to pack along a full can of dry shampoo for a couple of days. These are easy, on the go, fuss free. So basically, you take out a sheet out and just dab along you head, tousle your hair and go! These are super great for travel and on-the-go occasions! The only problem for me is that my bangs tend to get greasy too, and this is really effective on the head, but not really on the actually hair (which nothing really is - I have to let my dry shampoo soak in overnight)! But, they still are perfect for a long weekend! Plus, Cake Beauty is also Canadian, cruelty free and vegan!

Long Weekend at the Cabin Beauty Must Haves!

Yes To Cucumber Facial Wipes ~ $9.99 CAN for 30 wipes. Whether you’re out and about, going for a run, or having a late night, these wipes make it a snap to refresh on-the-go. Packed with green superfoods these all-natural, biodegradable wipes naturally refresh and rejuvenate all-in-one. Stay gorgeous, and go from zero to clean in seconds! Formulated without Parabens, SLS and Silicones.

I don't always use face wipes on my face to remove makeup - I tend to use a micellar water at home. But, I can't pack 3 different cleansers plus a makeup remover in my weekend bag, so I always bring along a pack of face wipes! Yes To is a newer brand to me, in that I've only tried a few of their products! I also love that these are biodegradable, so I can compost these instead of trashing them!

Carry Clean Dental Travel Pack ~ $3.00 CAN. A convenient -on-the-go travel kit ideal for your suitcase, purse or office.

Okay, this might seem a little basic, but I love travel toothbrush sets! Not only do I use these for weekends away, but I like to something like this in my purse too! This little set comes with a travel toothpaste, mini toothbrush and travel case, and mini flossers so it's perfect for going away for a weekend.

  1. Those dry shampoo sheets are BRILLIANT. I always hate packing a bottle of dry shampoo when travelling so I will be definitely checking those out!

  2. Ohhh the dry shampoo sheets are such a great idea! Is it like a blotting sheet or they add product in your hair too?

    1. They are basically like a blotting sheet but some of the residue does add a little product to the hair.
