June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

Here's a look at my beauty garbage from June (yes, I know this is a super late Empties post!):

June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ ~ $33.00 CAN. A lightweight water mist that finishes makeup, while gently soothing and refreshing skin.

I love Fix Plus - it's a solid formula of a priming and setting mist! I featured this product way back in my Monthly Favourites in June 2016 and I just talked about it recently in my Favourite Setting Sprays post! I've purchased this in mini scented versions and I love it all. It's a great priming and light setting spray!
Repurchase: Yes!

Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray - Bridal ~ $29.00 US for 4 oz. or $39.00 US for 8 oz. Our ultra-fine mist spray has patented technology designed to resist the effect of excess moisture and help keep makeup flawless all day and all night.

Sticking with some favourite products - this was also featured in my Favourite Setting Sprays and I love this! This was also a Favourite way back from July 2016 and it's been a love ever since - I also recently featured this in my Shop My Stash where I use products that will weather proof my makeup for a long night and this is the best formula of setting spray by far!
Repurchase: Already have - couldn't go without it!

Nivea 2-in-1 Moisturizing Primer ~ $12.99 CAN. If you’re on the lookout for stunning, even-looking skin that leaves your skin feeling moisturized and ready for the next steps in your beauty routine, this long-lasting formula is just what you’re looking for.

This was Nivea's response a couple of years ago to everyone using their aftershave as a primer - and I liked it! It was a gel cream texture and sat really lightly on the skin. You can see my full thoughts here and it tried on with foundation; but, it was a great base for me! I didn't fully finish this product; but, got pretty close - I decided to toss it now though as it's in a jar and I've been using it for 2+ years now and I try not to use jar products for too long - I probably would have used this all up if it were in a tube!
Repurchase: Maybe; but, I don't love the jar!

Formula X Prime Xcel Base Coat ~ $?

I'm totally bummed that Formula X has been discontinued - for the longest time it was my go-to nail cleanser and base coat, and I still can't find anything to replace them! Do you have any recommendations? I just loved this and the cleanser!
Repurchase: I can't

June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

Life Brand - Life 3-In-1 Facial Cleansing Wipes ~ $3.99 CAN for 15 wipes. For all skin types, cleanses, tones and removes eye makeup, 100% plant-based fibres.

These are okay - I'm trying to cut down on my wipes, so I can actually usually stretch these out for 2 days of use. These ones are fine, they are quilted and I think they do a decent job.
Repurchase: Maybe, they are affordable!

Revitalize Makeup Remover ~ $?

This was a hotel sample, and this worked fine - it removed makeup, but not amazingly.
Repurchase: No

Vichy Mineral 89 Fortifying Daily Skin Booster ~ sample shown (full size is $39.95 CAN.) Give your skin a daily boost of strength.

This is a truly amazing product - this is just a little sample; but, I am already on my third or forth full size bottle of this booster. It made my 2017 Yearly Skincare Favorites and it's been a staple in my rotation ever since! This has just done wonders for my skin - I think it has totally improved my skin's strength, hydration, and appearance. The best.
Repurchase: Yes, when I use my up full size!

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme ~ $14.95 US. A more potent version of our bestselling glycolic fix pads, these extreme night pads contain our highest level of glycolic acid at 5%.

I will just make this short and simple - I love these pads. I only need to use these once or twice a week and they are just just gentle on the skin but keep it smooth and clear. These made my Skincare Favourites of 2018, so I love them and you can check out my full review here; but, I was sad getting to the end of this container!
Repurchase: I need to!

Vichy Liftactiv Supreme ~ sample shown (full size is $49.95 CAN). A new generation of anti-aging day care specifically created to counteract Daily Aging, for more youthful-looking skin all day.

This is to focus on daily aging, so it's not quite what I need for my skin; but, it also good for brightening! This was fine.
Repurchase: Not likely...

June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

Pistache Whipped Pistachio Body Butter ~ sample shown (full size is $28.00 US). Envelop your skin in the decadence of our rich, whipped body butter with the irresistible scent of nutty, lightly sweet pistachio biscotti.

This lotion smells unreal - it is so yummy! I love pistachio, so it's nutty and delicious smelling! Also, it was a whipped formula and was really nice! So good!
Repurchase: Yes!

Weleda Calendula Intensive Skin Recovery Cream ~ $19.99 CAN. Weleda Calendula Intensive Skin Recovery Cream is highly concentrated and calms sensitive skin.

This is a really great cream - I love it for using on my eczema, keratosis pilaris, and stretch marks. It is super calming and is recommended to use after sun exposure and shaving too. This is a really thick cream so it takes a bit to absorb in to the skin but works so well - a little bit goes a long way. I also did a review on this cream - you can check it out here! This made my Monthly Favourites in May 2017

Repurchase: Likely, yes

Lush Dream Cream Self-Preserving ~ sample shown (full size is $7.95 CAN). Our self-preserving Dream Cream has all the skin-soothing ingredients as our original formula, but no synthetic preservatives: you'll still benefit from softening cocoa butter and olive oil, soothing oat milk and calming rose, lavender and chamomile oils.

This was a good lotion, as are most of the Lush body lotions! I personally prefer the scent and light-weight texture of the Sympathy for the Skin, so I tend to stick with that one!
Repurchase: Probably not

Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask ~ $34.00. Leaves skin glowing and radiant thanks to Vitamin C and its AHA and volcanic stone exfoliation.

Vichy Quenching Mineral Skin Mask ~ $34.00. Instantly hydrates and soothes, while leaving skin feeling fresh thanks to its mineral rich formula and liquid gel texture.

I really enjoyed both of these masks and have used them a fair bit (more than what this use shows in the pictures), and I've reviewed them when they first came out here! But, I did ended up tossing these because I've had them for since October 2016 and that's a little too long for a potted product for me!
Repurchase: I likely would - probably the Glow Peel Mask!

Fresh Rose Face Mask ~ sample shown here ($33.00 for 30 ml or $80.00 for 100 ml). A cult-favorite hydrating and toning gel mask infused with real rose petals, soothing rosewater, and a “smart” algae that delivers optimum moisture.

This is a luxurious face mask to use - it feels so luxe to use and it even has rose petals in it! You can see a full review on this mask here! I really love Rose for my skin and I thought this was so refreshing and brightening on the skin!
Repurchase: Already have a back-up!

June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

Matrix Total Results Shampoo ~ sample & Matrix Total Results Conditioner ~ sample.

This is a hotel sample, and I've used it before and enjoyed it - I was excited to see Matrix in a hotel! It smelled good and worked pretty good for my hair.
Repurchase: Nope, but would use it again!

Colab Paradise Invisible Dry Shampoo ~ $9.99 CAN. COLAB's Paradise fragrance Dry Shampoo gives hair an instant wow-factor with feel-good flamingo vibes and a totally tropical, coconut scent.

I really liked this dry shampoo - you can see my full thoughts here if you are interested and it made my Monthly Favourites in May 2019. I love the scent and this has no white cast at all! Really great formula! I did found that I used this one much faster than I normally would though - i'm not sure if that's me or the product itself; but, overall it's a great dry shampoo!
Repurchase: Yes!

Sensodyne Toothpaste ~ $4.99 for full size - travel size shown here. Sensodyne is specially formulated to relieve sensitivity.

For someone who has sensitive teeth, I don't actually really enjoy this formula! I just didn't think it worked that well and it didn't taste very good.
Repurchase: Not likely

Nailene Nail Glue ~ $?

I think I've only used this a couple of times; but, this isn't really empty except that this won't open at all anymore. So it's gotta go - it worked fine when I could use it.
Repurchase: I'm not sure I would get this one again...

June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

Quo Luxury Facial Pads ~ $7.50 CAN. Smooth and silky surface provides ultimate softness on skin.

These were pretty good - they were very thick and worked well. For skincare I could cut these in half and though they were good (not as good as the more expensive Shiseido; but, they were good).
Repurchase: Ya maybe

Degree Clinical Protection Sheer Powder ~ $7.67 CAN. It’s formulated to provide protection that’s long-lasting against sweat, and provides extra help against odour, to help keep you dry and confident.

This is fine - I prefer the Mitchum clinical strength; but, I haven't spotted it in stores recently so it's probably being discontinued. But, this is a good alternative and worked well.
Repurchase: Yes

Clear Care Plus Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution ~ $19.97 CAN. Not only does CLEAR CARE® PLUS Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution clean and disinfect your contact lenses with the bubbling power of hydrogen peroxide, it also surrounds your lenses with long-lasting moisture.

This is a great contact solution - I switched to a hydrogen peroxide solution over a year ago (with only one mishap of not letting it rinse long enough). This is at least a 6 hour solution so you can't wear your contacts the next day unless you have enough time; but, it's great! Much better at cleaning than regular solutions!
Repurchase: Yes!

Bausch & Lomb Renu Fresh Solution ~ $6.99 for travel size. Clinically proven ingredient removes protein.

I usually keep a non-hydrogen contact solution in case anything needs a quick rinse; but, this is easy to travel with and we have been all over the place this Summer, so travel size is perfect!
Repurchase: Yes, likely

Q-Tips Cotton Swaps ~ $3.97 for 500.

Q-tips are a must have - the small stays in my beauty room mainly for nail clean ups and the bigger pack stays in my room.
Repurchase: Yes

June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask ~ deluxe size shown (full size is $33.00 CAN). An overnight, moisture-recharging gel mask that quickly absorbs while you sleep to deeply hydrate skin.

I'm a big fan of this sleeping mask - it's just a super hydrating and really softens and soothes the skin overnight!
Repurchase: Yes, I have a few samples to use still!

Too Cool For School Egg Mellow Cream ~ sample shown (full size is $46.99 CAN). This Too Cool For School Egg-Mellow Cream is a firming moisturizer that works as a serum, priming moisturizer, eye cream, neck cream, and sleeping mask in one.

This was pretty good - sadly I didn't get to use it all because these products were what I had to leave behind at the airport. I found this to be not the most moisturizing formula; it's a little tightening, not as hydrating as I wanted. It still worked well.
Repurchase: Perhaps...

The Creme Shop 2-in-1 Facial Foam Cleanser ~ deluxe sample shown (full size is $10.00 US). Evens skin tone. Provides deep nutrition & hydration. Removes dirt, oil, makeup.

This did work as a double cleanse and foamed and removed makeup, etc; but, this burned my eggs whenever I used it.
Repurchase: No

Giovanni L.A. Hold Hair Spritz Travel Size ~ $4.29 CAN. Easy to use mist. Hard-holding finished style for total control.

I was bummed that I had to get rid of my travel size hair spray - it's been a long time since I've used a non-aerosol hairspray and I liked this one when I used.
Repurchase: Maybe

So, in June I used up (or tossed) 29 products - only a few makeup products this month; but, lots of skincare!

And here are the masks that I used for June:

June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

The Face Shop 3-step Programming Kit - BRIGHTENING & SOOTHING ~ $5.00. This at-home kit for clean, fresh skin does it all. It exfoliates, soothes and moisturizes your skin.

This is a 3 step mask that starts with an AHA swab, a serum and a mask at the end. It worked well to sooth and brighten; but, I won't talk about it much because it's not available anymore.
Repurchase: No, I can't

Miniso We Bare Bears Moisturizing & Glossy Eyes Mask ~ $3.99 CAN for a pack of 5 eye masks. Contains multiple hydrating extracts, making the eyes smooth and firm.

I've done a full review on these eye masks before - they are a super thin material, adhered well and came with a ton of essence. These were cooling and refreshing and lasted over 30 minutes on me. I found them brightening and hydrating.
Repurchase: Yes

Soo AE Collagen Mask ~ $4.00 CAN. Healthy collagen level in the skin can help to achive the plump and smooth appearance of a youthful complexion.

This mask is pretty good - it's a little thicker of a material than I usually prefer but it did adhere well and made my skin look good.
Repurchase: Yes, probably

The Face Shop The Solution Soothing Face Mask ~ $3.50 CAN.

These masks fit really good and this one worked really well. Again, I won't talk about this much because all of The Solution masks are still available except for the Soothing one!
Repurchase: Nope, I can't

June 2019 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks!

St. Ives Glow Apricot Sheet Mask ~ $3.49 CAN.This sheet mask, made with 100% naturally sourced apricot extract, helps refresh skin so you can bring on the glow.

This mask is really great - it smelled amazing, fit well, had lots of essence and it was brightening and refreshing! It even made my June Monthly Favourites
Repurchase: Yes!

St. Ives Revitalizing Acai Sheet Mask ~ $3.49 CAN. This sheet mask, made with 100% naturally sourced acai, blueberry, and chia seed oil extracts, revitalizes tired skin by giving it a boost of instant hydration.

I've reviewed this mask along with the St Ives Apricot mask on a Skincare Sunday post - you can check out my thoughts here! This mask fit a little bigger than the other one and was good. My skin was soft and smooth the next morning.
Repurchase: Yes, likely

UO Metallic Sheet Mask in Black Gold ~ $5.00 CAN each or 2 for $6.00 CAN. Each mask targets specific concerns with specially-selected ingredients that leave skin balanced and glowing in 20 minutes or less!

I just reviewed this mask and the Rose Gold one - you can see my full Skincare Sunday post here! But, I liked this mask - the foil works well and it meant for "luxurious blend of 24K gold + charcoal + lavender to deeply cleanse pores, soothe skin". I prefer the hydrating quality of the rose gold; but, this one was good!
Repurchase: Possibly

The Face Shop Seaweed Balance Sheet Mask ~ $6.00 CAN. Mattify and hydrate oily and combination skin in just 15 minutes with our vegan Seaweed Balance Sheet Mask. Enriched with cucumber extract, mineral-rich seaweed and Community Trade organic aloe vera, this mask locks in 24hr hydration and leaves skin feeling instantly refreshed and mattified.

I tend to only wear balancing masks for their suggested time, so I wore this for 15 minutes. It came with a whole handful of extra essence and my skin felt a little tight after wearing it. My skin did look matte after though and felt balanced and refreshed!
Repurchase: Yes, probably

So on top of the 29 products that I used this month, I also used up 8 masks!
