Natasha Denona Mini Lila Eyeshadow Palette - Swatches, Makeup Look and Review!

If you been following the blog, you will have noticed that all the cute little Natasha Denona goodies keep popping up around here - I love them!

Natasha Denona Mini Lila Eyeshadow Palette - Swatches, Makeup Look and Review!

Earlier this Spring, I tried the Natasha Denona Mini Sunset palette and pretty much fell in love with it right away! (It's still a favorite as well - you can see my review here!) And, spoiler alert - this Mini Lila palette just made my Monthly Favorites for August, so I've made it pretty clear that I love this one too!

Natasha Denona Mini Lila Eyeshadow Palette ~ $30.00 CAN/ $25.00 US. The plum and violet color scheme of this palette give you the range to create a whole eye makeup look with a light shimmering shade, a matte transition shade, dark, a vibrant, medium matte shade, and a purple-blue duo-chrome. Its compact size makes it perfect for travel.

This is called an extension of the Lila palette, so if you have the full size Lila palette and wanted to pick up this little mini as well, you would not be duplicating the shadows! I think these minis are a great way to try out the Natasha Denona formula; but, don't know if you want to spend $60 - $160 on a palette, this is a good way to try it out!

This palette is really pretty - the shadows are gorgeous! The palette has 3 matte shadows, 1 metallic shadow and 1 duochrome shadow. I personally think the pan sizes of the palette are good (I've had mini palettes where you can barely fit a brush in to them) and these are 0.8g which is comparable to most shadows in a palette. Now, Natasha Denona usually has quite big shadow pans, so if you are used to those palettes, these may look small to you.

Poison Berry ~ vibrant fuchsia matte with a blue undertone
Blue Dahlia ~ purple with a blue duo-chrome reflect
Raisin ~ medium cool burgundy matte
Linen ~ nude champagne metallic
Flint ~ nude sand matte

I personally thought all of these shadows were really good! I really liked the Mini Sunset palette formula as well though and I know there was mixed reviews about that. The mattes are creamy and blend really nicely on the eyes. The darker mattes are easier to pat on and lightly blend as opposed to trying to use the wiper motion with them - I find that to be he case with a lot of deeper shadows, especially in this creamier, pigmented formula. The duo-chrome and metallic applied really nicely - they do have a bigger pop if applied with a fingertip or setting spray; but, I thought they looked good applied normal as well.

For this look I used Flint as the transition shade, Raisin to deepen the crease with a little Poison Berry in the outer corner, Blue Dahlia all over the lid and Linen in the inner corner. I do have shadow primer on, but this is Blue Dahlia applied with a finger.

I'm loving how these shadows look! I have used this palette multiple times for deeper looks; but, also works really nicely if you want a more neutral look with a pop of colour on the lower lash line too!

  1. That eye look is KILLER! I love the idea of the mini palettes because the price tag becomes reasonable. I love the look of the larger palettes but I just CANNOT with the price - it's just too much!
