February 2018 - Monthly Favorites!

Here are the 5 things I have been loving this month:

February 2018 - Monthly Favorites!

Too Faced White Peach Eye Shadow Palette ~ $55.00 CAN. A matte, shimmer and glitter eyeshadow palette infused with peach and sweet fig cream.

I have to start by saying that this is not a palette for everyone; but, I'm a big fan! I know this is an overall really light toned palette - there isn't a lot of medium toned transition shades or deep shades. But all that considered - for me, this is an actual every day go-to palette (especially when I go back to work in April)! For every day looks I really just go with a simple, light and pretty eye looks so I don't need a lot of deep shadows as I prefer every day looks without.

The shadows are good quality - they blend well, smell great and make really pretty looks. I love the Peaches and Cream scent and I will have a full review up of this soon so you can see how it performs for me! I'm really happy with this - of all the palettes I buy, this will get a lot of use!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil ~ sample size shown (full size is $50.00 CAN). An ultra-light, fast-absorbing face oil that doubles as a face primer—imparting a glowing, radiant look with a dewy finish.

This primer is AMAZING!!! Why have I not jumped on this oil primer bandwagon yet?! I know people are dropping oil all over their face on social media, and I do use oil in my skincare routine; but, I always thought with my combo type skin with an oily t-zone that an oil would not be great on me, so I never really went there.

But, Alberta is a naturally dry climate and this Winter has been especially dry - like I put on 2 moisturizers on and still had dry tight skin. So, I finally just grabbed this and gave it a try and omgoodness, I cannot remember the last time so many people complimented me on my skin when I wore this! I wore it with a couple of different foundations and it looked amazing with all of them - it made the skin look just slightly dewy (but not oily at all) and it just wore so well. I don't think this is something that will last in to Spring/Summer but absolutely Fall/Winter it will be my go to!!!

Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic ~ $20.00 CAN. (Also comes in larger and s The Pixi Glow Tonic 100ml miracle working toner helps brighten the complexion resulting in a healthier glow.

Okay, I have dabbled in this product a couple of times; but, I haven't really fully committed to using it before! I talked about it last year and I tried it a few times and liked it. But, this month I really needed a skin refresh and clearing a few textured spots and this was the perfect product!

This toner is made with 5% glycolic acid and is really meant to brighten, exfoliate and smooth the skin! It is an alcohol free toner and is cruelty free as well. I don't use this every day as I'm just not in to the every day exfoliation personally, I use it every other evening on my skin and it has really improved the texture and appearance of my skin - I had noticeable texture on my forehead and it totally cleared it up and really helped brighten my skin! (It is safe for every day use, it's just not my skincare routine!)

Too Faced Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder ~ $38.00 CAN. An innovative blurring and finishing powder for a flawless-looking complexion.

This powder is gorgeous - it is described as a translucent, peach coloured powder that helps smooth imperfections. I have seen a lot of mixed reviews - there is a lot of people who don't like this; but, I think this is absolutely stunning!

I do think this is a really subtle product; but, to me that is what a finishing powder is! After all foundation, setting powder ect, I apply this before blush/highlighter/bronzer just to give a final finish to my base. It really blurs everything together and adds the most beautiful finish to the skin. It's hard to describe; but, I have basically been using the Hourglass Ambient Light powder a this for the past couple of years, which was good, but it didn't add the smoothing and perfecting factor that this powder has! Plus, it smells like peaches!

Lush Sympathy For The Skin Body Lotion ~ $29.95 CAN. Your skin certainly deserves a little sympathy if it's feeling chapped or dry, so don't delay in smoothing on this delicious vanilla-banana cream. Made with cocoa butter, almond oil and organic bananas to moisturize skin, making it softer and more flexible, this formula also has loads of vanilla for its gorgeous creamy scent and its skin-soothing properties.

How have I not included this in a favorites yet?! I know at the end of last year I included a lot of body butters/thick lotions in my favorites and this is actually a much thinner lotion in texture; but, it still delivers amazing hydration to the skin! I have already mention how dry it has been here and this has been my go to hand lotion (and body lotion too..) It just works well, absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a greasy or tacky feeling and I once I started using this on my hands, I have had to reapply far less than with other hand lotions! Plus, it smells like banana and cookies to me!

What have you been loving this month?!

  1. The peach blur powder is intriguing! I love all the looks people are putting together with the White Peach palette, I just can't seem to get into the palette myself!

    1. Yes, both the White Peach and the Peach Blur have very mixed reviews so I can see they don't appeal to everyone; but, I love both!
