November 2016 Ipsy Glambag - Unboxing and Review

Ipsy is one of the original inexpensive beauty bag sample subscriptions. You receive 4-5 deluxe sample size or full size products each month. The cost is $10 US (+ $4.95 shipping to Canada - you will have to factor in our crazy exchange rate right now!)

Ipsy is generally make-up products with a mix of skincare, nail polish, and hair products based on a beauty profile you complete. There is usually 12-18 products that are selected from each month! You can view your "glam room" online that tells you all the products you will receive each month. You also receive a make-up bag each month with your products.

Ipsy always ships out in it's signature pink mailer, and here is a look at what came inside!

This month's theme is "Rockstarlet" - here is a closer look at the products I received:

Doucce Freematic Blush in #49 Zen Orange ~ sample size 3.4 g for $11.90 (full size is 8 g for $28.00). The time to try peach is now. We’re obsessed with this universally flattering coral shade that leaves a smooth matte finish on our cheeks. Orange you glad you tried it?

I have to start by saying that the packaging of this sample is crap - the lid is a sliding lid and does not stay on as soon as you take the blush out of the package. The shade is good - I don't have a blush in this shade so it will be welcome in my collection, but you couldn't travel or take this little blush with you anywhere because it won't stay closed.

ModelCo Mini Contour Stick ~ full size "mini" for $9.00. Get camera-ready cheekbones and define and enhance your favourite features in an instant with ModelCo CONTOUR STICK. This handy chubby stick is ideal for achieving natural-looking contour at the cheeks, along the jawline and other areas with expert precision.

Creamy, lightweight texture glides on over bare skin or foundation to seamlessly define and shape your features. ModelCo CONTOUR STICK creates the illusion of depth where you want it and blends easily into skin, appearing invisible to the naked eye. Use with ModelCo MAGIC MAKEUP BLENDER for a flawless, invisible finish.

This comes in 1 shade - #02 descibed as a warm, medium bronze. I will say that this product smells really good, but it is not something that I would ever use. Pass.

TheBalm Mad Lash Mascara ~ sample size 2.5 ml for $5.63 (full size is 8 ml for $18.00). So flexible, we think it’s been doing yoga. One of the most bendy wands we’ve ever laid eyes on, it moves easily to hug each and every lash.

This is a super small sample size for a mascara - they are usually double this size. Anyways, this is fine. I have a huge stash of mascara samples but I am excited to try this one as I haven't tried it before.

Naobay Natural & Organic Renewal Antiox Eye Contour Cream ~ sample size 5 ml for $7.04 (full size is 20 ml for $28.16). Eyes wide open. Soothing cinnamon extract and fermented resveratrol from grape skins boost circulation to give us a youthful and incredibly awake look.

I have seen this brand in a few subscriptions lately - I like natural and organic products and use an eye cream every night so this will get used.

Tarte Maracuja Oil ~ sample size 0.23 oz for $8.12 (full size is 1.7 oz for $60.00). Not all oil is created equal. This earth-prescribed treatment oil targets your individual skin concerns and delivers harmony and moisture for firmer, brighter, smoother-looking skin.

I have used other brands of maracuja oil and it works very well on my skin. I will use this up! I am happy to see Tarte in the bag.

Ipsy came with 5 products - (1 full sized), and a total value of $41.69. My sentiment with Ipsy has been the same over the last few months - it is feeling a little lackluster. A lot of the products are just okay and nothing is really exciting to me.

I think I may be feeling full of samples at this point - I have been subscribed to a lot of subscriptions and I ended up cancelling Ipsy. I signed up for a year subscription, so I will keep receiving bags until February and then I will stop for a while.
