Happy Manicure Monday everyone - I hope you all had an amazing weekend!
I always look forward to June, since like last year, the #CBBxManiMonday group is switching it up a little bit this month and the theme is Allyship - June is both Pride Month and Indigenous History Month. Each week we will be sharing manis based on our allyship with these causes (or any other causes we each feel are important to highlight!) and sharing resources to help draw attention to, informative information or agencies in our areas that are assisting people.
This month, I started with Pride rainbow nails, and I might try and use this month to highlight different groups in the 2SLGBTQI+ (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and additional groups). This week, I'm highlighting the bi-flag colours - the pink stripe represents attraction to the same sex, while the blue stripe represents attraction to the opposite sex, and the purple stripe, the resulting "overlap" of the blue and pink stripes, represents attraction to both sexes.
- Essie All-in-one top and base coat
- OPI polish in Let Love Sparkle
- Colour Club art club polish in Paisley Paradise
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Pride polish in Berry Spirited
- Charlotte Russe blue nail art polish
- Moyra Nail Art Top Coat
For this manicure, I started with a base coat and two coats with of the shimmery blue base coat. Then, I applied alternating stripes of pink, purple and blue all over all my nails! Then, I finished with a nail art top coat!
As a highlight for a company doing great work in Calgary with the 2SLGBTQI+ community is Outlink - they offer Groups, Peer Support, Mentorship, Resource Navigation, Education & Training, and Community Events! They also have a support and help line as well!
Make sure to check out Cosmetic Proof and PBL Nails for their always amazing manicures!
