Monthly Beauty Favourites - August 2021

Here's the Top 5 products I've been loving in August:

Monthly Beauty Favourites - August 2021
I purchased all the products myself - this post contains affiliate links

I've still kept my beauty routine pretty minimalistic in August, but I have tried a few new makeup products that I've really been loving - I also have a few great nail and skincare products!

Here's a closer look at the products:

Monthly Beauty Favourites - August 2021

Holo Taco Hot-Wire Pink polish ~ $14.00 US. When the holo is so strong it can Hot-Wire Pink a motor vehicle. This hot pink polish is like a joyride in a pink sports car on a rainbow road.

Ok, clearly I went down the Holo Taco rabbit hole hard and I'm not mad about it - I have featured so many of their holographic polishes in my favourites, but they are just so damn good! You can see this one in a Manicure Monday post here. The shifts on these polishes are so gorgeous and this is an amazing pink polish. So pretty!

Laneige Lip Glowy Balm - Berry ~ $20.00 CAN. A lightweight, moisture-coating lip balm for hydrated, tinted, and kissable lips throughout the day.

In my recent Top Products I've been reaching for in Summer, I talked about how much I needed a great lip balm all Summer as my lips get so dry in the heat, so I've picked up a few really good ones that I've been enjoying. I raved about the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask before and this one came in a little holiday set (or I may not have tried a $20 lip balm), but it is so good! It's so soft and smooth, the berry scent is delicious and this keeps my lips hydrated!

Monthly Beauty Favourites - August 2021

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara ~ $4.99 CAN. Royal sister! The original Lash Princess has a big and bold sister with voluminous false lash effects! The conic shape fiber brush provides lashes with dramatic volume and sculpted length.

Okay, am I the last one on the Essence mascara train?! Honestly, I held out for so long because I really thought that a $5 mascara can't really be that good, right?! Wrong - this is fabulous! I picked up the false lash effect because that's what I like on my lashes and it's lovely - it makes them dark and full and builds up nicely! (I picked this up to compare to the waterproof mascara, and I can't wait to share a full review on this soon!)

ColourPop ColourPop Hello Kitty Teenie Kini Shadow Palette ~ $12.00 US. Every body is a kini body! Create the most fire looks with this warm orange palette featuring 4 vibrant shades in matte and metallic finishes. Includes a convenient mirror and the cutest Hello Kitty designs!

I just swatched, reviewed and shared a makeup look with this in my Summer Makeup ColourPop post and it's lovely! This quad comes with a serious bang - the shadows are lovely and very pigmented. They apply well and last all day, I got so many compliments for this look and orange makeup is just some of my favourite! I love the shimmers, the orange is lovely and even the light one has a little reflect in it. The mattes are good and I love that they add a full range of light to deep within the 4 shadows, it does not feel like it's lacking anything! So good.

Xo Treatment Room Cool Cucumber Soothing Cucumber Jelly Mask With Cica Tonic ~ $110.00 CAN. Jelly jelly jelly masks! Cap off a day in the sun with a cooling, replenishing jelly mask. Powered with cucumber water and antioxidants and the soothing love of Cica.

Xo Treatment can seriously do no wrong with skincare products - I'm willing to pay any price for Annie's creations, because they are always amazing. This is a mask that you mix equal parts powder and liquid and it becomes a jelly paste that you apply, and then once it's dry, you peel it off your face. It's boasts ingredients like allantoin, panthenol, cica, and caffeine; but, I should tell you the bad news that this isn't a permanent product. It was released as part of the Summer Capsule Collection, but the website is worth checking on, because all the capsule and regular products I've tried have been fantastic.

To use this mask, you just start by mixing a generous scoop of soothing powder with equal amounts cica tonic and mix until smooth (should last 4-8 uses), then apply evenly over clean, dry skin, and then sit back for 20 minutes. Once dried, you just peel your jelly mask off in one sheet!

I found this cooling and refreshing on the skin. It was great for smoothing the skin, and also really great for targeting acne - I actually love to use it as a half mask on my chin and jaw as that's where I tend to get the most breakouts! I'm bummed this is sold out, but always looking forward to new, innovative products from this local Calgary brand!

What have you been loving this month?!
