I started the project off with the first 10 products and will treat this like a rolling project - once I reach my goal, I will add a new product to the mix! On my first update, I reached my goal on 1 product, then with the second update, I finished another 2, and my last update in June I finished another 4 products, so I'm down to 14 more products to go! (But, over the Summer, I haven't reached for these products as much!)
I have a mix of goals between finishing products and hitting pan, so this should be a lot of fun! I also picked a mix of products that I will reach my goals quickly on and some that may take close to the whole project to reach!
First, there is one product I'm tossing from the project, because it just is not good and I can't keep using it (I'm not counting it towards my finished products, I'm just replacing it):
Rodial Microblade Effect Eyebrow Pencil Dark Ash Brown ~ $35.00 CAN. Define, sculpt and build brow volume with this creamy angled brow pencil. Featuring a unique triangular tip that can be used to create precise, hair-like strokes or to quickly fill in the brow area with broad strokes for instant brow-enhancement.
Okay, I introduced this brow product back in January, and I have just been struggling with it. It's a bigger, triangle tip pencil than I typically prefer and it's quite a creamy formula so I also find it a little hard to control on application as well.
The more I used it, the more I disliked it, to the point that I was totally avoiding using a brow pencil so I didn't have to use this, so it needs to go. Tossed.
Now, I've reached my goal on Let's start with the product that I've reached my goal on:
Too Faced Cosmetics Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Skin Perfecting Primer ~ deluxe size (travel size is $16.00 US). Cooling matte primer blurs and smooths your complexion with a brightening peach tint that works on any skin tone.
I have so many primers and back-ups in my collection - I feel like they are always point products or addons, so I will always have one in my project pan to get through these. This one is older and now it appears this product is discontinued, so time to move it out!
My goal was to use this product up - I introduced this in May and finished it on July 13, 2021. I'm happy with how quick I used this up, and I had another one so I added one back in to my project on July 13, 2021 and this was my update in August 2021.
So, my goal is also to use this one up also, I've made some good progress so far and I don't think it will take me too long to use up!
Also, since I'm talking about products I'm introducing, here is the second product I'm introducing:
Hard Candy Eyes The Limit Eyeshadow Primer ~ (sample size shown) full size is $5.98 CAN. Increase the vibrancy and lasting power of your eye shadow by applying Eye’s The Limit as a base layer to eyelids. The crease-proof, extended wear formula prevents fading of eye shadow while maintaining a flawless look all day.
I introduced this to the product after I tossed the Rodial brow product - it is an older eye primer in my collection, this is a decent one, it has a light tint so it blends in nicely with my eyelids - it sets nicely and doesn't crease.
My goal is to use this product up - I think this will be a bit challenging as there is a lot of product in these eye primer packages! We will see!
And, now here is an update on the rest of the products in the project:
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette ~ $65.00 CAN. An eyeshadow palette with 18 shades in peachy pinks, corals, bronzes, and purples.
This is my oldest palette in my collection right now - it came out in early 2016, so we are pushing 5 years old now (you can see my original post back in April 2016 on it here!). The formula is still good and I really liked this palette, and still enjoy it whenever I remember to use it, so I think it's time to get some good use out of it before it's not so good anymore!
My goal for this eyeshadow palette is to hit pan on at least 2 shadows (maybe 3 depending on how I'm doing) and use all the shadows at least a couple of times! I'm making a dent on the lightest 3 shades and hit pan on one shadow on July 30, 2021 - hoping I can hit pan soon on a few more!
Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop ~ $50.00 CAN. An award-winning highlighter with an ultra-creamy formula that melts into skin for a natural, luminous glow.
This is probably the oldest highlighter in my collection - Champagne Pop was huge when it was released in July 2015 and it really is a stunning colour. It made my Monthly Favourites back in that month, so it's an oldie but a goodie! It's described as "soft gold with pinky-peach pearl" and it really is stunning - it's an old favourite and I've made a pretty good dent in it over the years.
My goal with this product is to hit pan on it - this is a big highlighter, so I think this might take me quite a while to do, but it will feel really great to do. I've managed to use this a little bit over the past few months and am making a little dip right in the middle - I'm getting a little closer!
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Paaarty ~ deluxe sample (full size is $38.00 CAN). An award-winning powder blush that contains long-wearing Amazonian clay, so pigment looks freshly applied all day.
This is another old favourite - it was one of my Favourite Makeup Products of 2017. I think this was the Sephora Birthday gift either 2016 or 2017 and Paaarty is described as a "nude". It's a lovely pinky nude that works well for my skintone and it's an easy to use shade for every day!
My goal for this product is to hit pan on this blush - it is a deluxe size, so that should be doable within this year, but I do think that this will take quite a while! I've been using this quite a few times over the past few months, but this will take a lot more uses to hit pan on, so I think this will take most of the year to reach my goal!
ColourPop Lip Crayon in Z Boys ~ $8.00 US each. When all you need is just a tint. This comfy, hydrating lip tint adds the perfect sheer wash of colour to create healthy, glowy lips.
These lip tint lip crayons were another instant love for me when I picked them up - this made my Favourite Makeup Discoveries of 2019! Z Boys is described as a "sheer peach nude" and the formula is super soft and comfortable on the lips and wear off without smearing everywhere and they leave a pretty tint behind (just a little bit) and reapply really nicely. I have been getting a ton of tinted lip balms lately, so I want to use some of my older ones that I love too!
My original goal for this product is to use it up - there is a fair bit left, and honestly, I think I will adjust my goal and aim for using half of the product up! I have a feeling that this will take a while to complete! And, I have actually used this a few times over the past couple of months and it barely made a dent!
YSL Touche Eclat Colour Corrector in # 3 Violet ~ $52.00 CAN. Violet helps neutralize dull or sallow skin. Instantly eliminates color imperfections for a flawless skin tone. Convenient one-click brush perfectly & effortlessly targets the problem areas.
This was a concealer that has sort of been forgotten in my collection, but I've enjoyed a violet powder, so I'm thinking that I will enjoy this under my eyes for a brightening effect. This is a nice thin formula and it was comfortable to wear.
My goal with this is to use it up - it's a little hard to judge how much is in here, or how long it will take me to finish, so it will be a surprise! And, since I can't weigh anything this update, I really have no way to track this!
Essence Brighten Up! Banana Powder ~ $5.99 CAN. Translucent mattifying powder ideal for concealer baking and perfect for setting matt highlights.
Again, like primers, I have a few older powders that I would like to clear out, so I will always have a face powder in here. I was hoping when I purchased this quite a while ago that it would replace the NYX banana powder that is a little harder to find, but the packaging broke so quickly, so I can't take this anywhere, so time to use it up!
My goal is to use this up - there was already a huge dent in this, and I've been making pretty good work of this over the Summer.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Soft Matte Hydra Makeup in Ecru ~ $54.00 CAN. A soft-matte liquid foundation, with up to 24-hour wear, that blurs the look of pores for a camera-ready finish that’s lightweight, oil-free, and non-drying.
This is a little blast from the past (I had this in last year's project pan). This formula is described as "matte reimagined" and for me it's just okay - I find it can look a little powdery and slightly dry on me. It's not terrible, but it's just something I want to use up as it's not my most favourite formula, but it's still good - it's also my oldest foundation so time to clear it out.

My goal for this foundation is to use it all up. I tried this last year, but with a constant masking at work policy, I barely used this, so I'm hoping to give it another go this year! I haven't used it much all Summer, so I still have lots more to use up!
Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer in Bronzer ~ $22.99 CAN. Ultra-luxurious bronzer, infused with Murumuru Butter, delivers a radiant Brazilian goddess glow! Features ultra-refined pearls and soft-focus pigments that smooth skin texture, brighten skin tone and deliver a gorgeous bronze finish.
This is a good bronzer, but it's the oldest one in my collection, and the packaging is broken, which drives me nuts. It doesn't latch anymore and that's the only thing that drives me crazy about some drugstore brands is how quick the packaging get ruined.
My goal for this is to hit pan on it, I would love a stretch goal of finishing it, but with only 4 months left in the year, that's not likely.
So, I still think I'm doing pretty good in the project - I have now used up 8 products down with 13 more products to go! (It feels pretty daunting with only 4 months left, but hoping I will reach my goal on some of those initial products soon!)
