Five on Saturday - November 16, 2019

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all had a great week - I love a short work week, but man do they ever feel extra busy?! I've had a crazy week and my toddler has been a total maniac too (up one day at 3:30 and didn't go back to bed and let's just say that I am happy it's the weekend!)

ONE

Some of these products were gifts and others in this post I purchased myself - this post contains affiliate links

Last week I turned 33 and I was awaiting a little Sephora order to come in before I shared my birthday gifts! I have been waiting forever for Erin Morgenstern to release her second book - I have actually read and listened to The Night Circus at least 5 or 6 times and it's easily my favourite stand alone book - it gets better and better every time I read it! So, I was very excited when I saw that The Starless Sea was being released 2 days before my birthday, I couldn't wait. Then, Erin announced back in September that she would be signing books and sending them through The Odyssey Bookshop - I immediately suggested to my husband what I perfect gift it would be and it arrived right in time for my birthday! (Also, a signed copy of The Night Circus too because it's so special to me).

Then, these lovely illustrated Harry Potter books always come out around my birthday so my mom always picks me up a new one every year to add to my collection and I love them! This year's book is Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire - one of my favourites of the whole series and it's so lovely! And, I made a point this year to use a good chunk of my birthday money and picked up a few Sephora goodies that I've been eyeing lately! So, naturally I had to pick up every high end single cream, liquid, and shimmer shadow that I could - Charlotte Tilbury, Natasha Denona, Marc Jacobs, Pat McGrath and HourGlass! You can look forward to a comparison post!

TWO

Now, I'm going to get a little complainy, so bear with me. I have been a Sephora VIB or Rouge for years (this year I'm Rouge, but not making that status next year), and as a Rouge we were supposed to have 4 birthday gift choices: Drunk Elephant, Urban Decay, Kat Von D or 250 points. So, come my birthday time I only had 2 options Kat Von D or 250 points (I sent an email because that's crap - people for the last 2 months get to choose between supporting an anti-vaxxer or crappy points that you can never use for anything good???) Anyways, they offered to send me 2 coupon codes instead of my gift, so I picked an Armani mini liquid shadow and the new ABH eye primer samples - see an email and they are sending this mini mascara instead without telling me the product I wanted was out of stock. Basically said that oh well, that's what you get.

It's just kind of crazy that I can spend over $1000 there last year, and someone could sign up with a birthday in March and get a better gift?! I know it sounds entitled, but it's just frustrating. So, long story - I also took my 250 points since they hadn't taken away my option and I made a new account with a better birthday, since I wasn't making Rouge anyways. Spiteful and annoying? Yes, I might be, but I think if that's what I get for a November birthday I will find a better way around it than there help!

THREE

brunette the label

How cute is this Brunette The Label Rose Okay sweatshirt?! I found this on an auction brand new for $37! These are usually $80 or more and this one is glittery! It's super warm and soft too - it's going to be perfect for Fall and Winter!

FOUR

Did anyone else sign up for Disney+ this week?! Yes, I got it on release date and am so excited! I love classic Disneys and there is so much to pick from! So far, I've enjoyed some old show and a documentary about Disneyland development!

FIVE

Also, last week I finished my #100DaysofSheetMasks - it got so hard to get through at the end, but I did finish it, so I will be doing a recap of the last 50 days! (If you want to see the first 50 days you can check it out here!)

I hope you all have a great weekend!
