Five on Friday - May 11, 2018

Happy Friday everyone! What a week it has been - the whole family here has been super duper sick so our week has been filled with that! It has been pretty miserable around here actually; but, hopefully we are all on the mend and this weekend we can rest up and feel better!

ONE

My palette of the week for April 30 - May 4 was a customizable Buxom palette. So, I ordered this palette almost a year and a half ago from Sephora when they had a crazy deal on - you picked 6 shadows and the palette for $20. But, I haven't actually used this palette since I picked it up! Embarrassing, I know.... So, I thought I should try it right away and see if I like it or not!

Silk Sheets ~ chai lustre (satin)
La-La-Lavish ~ iridescent lavender (metallic)
Famous Flirt ~ matte pastel peach (matte)
Wild Nights ~ shimmering sugar plum (shimmer)
Jetsetter ~ matte greige (matte)
Patent Leather ~ sparkling blackberry (shimmer)

These shadows swatch beautifully and are really pretty - especially La-La-Lavish (it's so stunning!!!)

(Ignore my car selfie) But, honestly I was not super wowed by these eyeshadows overall. They swatched nicer than they applied. These did not last at all without a primer (and, on an every day basis, I don't always wear eye primer) and these were basically gone from my eyelids and really creased. They lasted longer on my lids with a primer; but, nothing spectacular. They did apply nicely, but overall, I wasn't super impressed.

TWO

And, my palette of the week for this past week was the Wet n Wild Rose in the Air palette! I just shared a review of this with swatches and an eye look - you can check it out here! I love this palette - beautiful shadows that apply so nicely!

THREE

Okay, I had to share this picture - how stinkin cute is Elliott as baby batman?! We went to a superhero themed party and these were the take home goodies! I can't believe Elliott actually wore this for the whole party! He's just soooo cute!!!

FOUR

I just finished 3 latest books! They were all good and one was a total flashback! You can check out my Goodreads page here

FIVE

Do you guys like this ongoing decluttering? I think I prefer it then waiting to do a big declutter. Now if something doesn't work for me or it's getting old - bye!

This past month I decluttered The Face Shop Mild Papaya Peeling - I did actually like this product; but, I stopped reaching for it and now I've had it over 2 years and it reached it's expiry. I do wish I used it more, but clearly I had other products I preferred more. I also got rid of the Tarte Clay Stick Foundation in Medium Neutral - it was just too dark for me! I got this as a Sephora add on and I was hoping it would work for me; but, it didn't! This Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask just didn't work for me - it made me more red afterwards. I should have gotten rid of it when I used it because I know I'm not going to use it again. And, I heard amazing things about the Caudalie Beauty Elixir; but, I think this might have gone bad. The smell was really off and it was a little irritating on my skin.

I hope you all have a great weekend - I'm looking forward to Mother's Day and I'm hoping this sickness passes us this weekend and we are all better next week!
